Chapter Sixty-Eight

The inside of the Lavarre Gym was as beautiful as the city itself. Seth couldn't help but marvel at the way it was structured. It was as though he'd been transported to Johto. The arena had four bridges connected to it. Around the arena were various shrubs that weren't native to Kalos. Several young women dressed in various styles of kimonos were seen tending to the plants while various Fairy-type Pokémon roamed about.

"It's quite beautiful isn't it?" came a soothing voice from the opposite side of the arena that attracted the group's attention.

Sauntering through the dark entryway on the other side of the battlegrounds was an exotically dressed woman with hair as dark as a Murkrow's feathers and eyes that shimmered like amethyst gemstones. She had porcelain skin and wore purple hair clips on her head that resembled Audino ears. Seth recognized her face instantly. Having seen his sister's friend Kate reading her weekly fashion magazine, there was no doubt that the confident, high heel-wearing woman walking their way, was Valerie. The former model came to a stop in front of the trio and smiled warmly at them. Her amethyst eyes soon met with Seth's and then trailed down his frame to his sword.

"That is quite the fashion statement you're making there challenger," Valerie mused, inspecting the decorative hilt and sheath. "Though I could tell by the way you walked into my gym that you know how to wield it am I right?"

"Well, you're not wrong," Seth replied with a slight laugh. "I've had a few years of practice with it so I guess you could say I know a little something..."

"Seth... I know you always play the modesty card, but saying that you have only a few years experience and only know a little something, is utter Tauros sh—" there was some muffled noises as Felicity's hand covered Jamie's mouth.

"That's enough out of you," Felicity hissed. "Don't mind him, he's a knucklehead..."

"Be that as it may, at least he was being honest about your friend's skill," Valerie laughed, turning her eyes back to Seth to give him a knowing look. "So Seth was it? It's obvious that you wish to challenge me. I can tell by the fire in your eyes that you're as eager to battle as I am, so why don't we set the stage and give our viewers a show they won't soon forget?"

"Viewers?" Jamie questioned, glancing around at the gym, wondering when the other trainers that were gathered on the other bridges had arrived.

"Sometimes people come a few hours early to the gym on days that I'm scheduled to throw a fashion show. So I let them stay and watch a match or two if they want," Valerie explained. "Blossom, would you come over here and be the judge for Seth and I?"

Making her way onto the center of the arena was a young, dark-skinned woman with light brown hair and almond colored eyes. She wore a purple and pink kimono and a pink flower in her hair. If Seth didn't know any better, he'd think that she was related to Shauna had it not been for the subtle differences that made the opposite true.

"Of course, Miss Valerie," Blossom responded politely, clearing her throat to say, "this is an official gym battle between Valerie, the Lavarre City Gym Leader and the challenger Seth! This will be a three on three match. Only the challenger will be allowed to substitute Pokémon! As the challenger, Seth will be allowed to make the first move! Trainers, send out your first Pokémon!"

"Sylveon, the stage is yours!" Valerie called out, releasing the Intertwining Pokémon from his chamber.

Okay... she's obviously not going to be playing any games if she's going big from the start. If I'm to take that Sylveon down I need to hit it where it hurts... and I know just the way to do that...

"Cerise, you awake back there?" Seth asked the twin phantom blades.

"For the last time, m'lord, I don't sleep..." Cerise muttered as she materialized into view.

The sentient swords detached themselves from Seth's back and hovered around to his front, knowing that she'd been called to battle by her trainer. Whispers shot through the crowd as the onlookers witnessed the swords release their hold on their master. Had Seth not explained this to them ages ago, his friends might have had a Miltank. While Valerie had about a dozen questions of her own, she decided that now wasn't the best time to ask.

"Full of surprises are we? I do believe this will prove to be a most fascinating battle," Valerie said grinning. "The honor of the first move is yours, Seth."

"Both sides ready!?" Blossom shouted, getting an affirmative nod from both ends. "Then you may begin!"

"Swords Dance and use Iron Head!" Seth shouted fiercely.

Glowing blades of light began to encircle Cerise as she empowered herself. With the preparations completed, she charged forward, both blades poised to strike. As she drew near, Sylveon crouched into a battle stance and prepared for impact while waiting for a command.

"Hyper Voice!" Valerie countered quickly.

Sylveon sucked in air and then blasted the sky with a piercing cry that caused many to cover their ears due to how high pitched the sound was. The sound wave slammed into Cerise and forced her backwards, separating her from her other half and almost forcing her into the wall behind Seth. While most would have been confused by the seemingly impossible maneuver that Valerie had just pulled off, Seth knew that there was an explanation for it. There was only one way that a Normal-type move had any effect on Cerise.

Pixilate, I should have known, Seth thought with a smile, a feeling of excitement rushing through him having discovered just how strong Valerie actually was.

Cerise regained her composure and called her other half back to her and readied her for another assault.

"Looks like I got ahead of myself there," Seth admitted, scratching the back of his head out of habit. "You're definitely going to be a tough opponent to beat that's for sure."

"You're not the first to go straight for the throat and attack my weakness. As you've found out for yourself, my Fairy-types aren't going to be so easy to deal with using conventional tactics," Valerie said confidently.

"I guess it's a good thing I like to think outside of the box then," Seth shot back with a playful grin. "Shadow Sneak and stay under!"

Both blades cloaked themselves in shadows, sank into the arena floor and began to move swiftly toward Sylveon who waited patiently for his opposition to strike.

"Shadow Claw and Iron Head!" Seth roared.

"Brace yourself Sylveon, here they come!" Valerie shouted in warning, watching as Cerise's blades shot out of the ground in front of and behind Sylveon. "Now use Fairy Wind!"

As Cerise lashed out, Sylveon called upon an intense magical wind that created son updraft that sent her toward the ceiling.

"That was an amusing strategy you had going there, but I'm afraid you'll need to do better than that. Sylveon, use Mystical Fire!" Valerie commanded.

"Swords Dance!" Seth blurted out.

Sylveon kept up the wind with his ribbons while channeling flames into his mouth. Seconds later, a stream of fire spiraled upward and engulfed Cerise as the winds battered her metallic frame. The wind soon died down and Cerise began falling. As she hit the ground, Sylveon eased up slightly, having seemingly defeated his opposition.

"Hang on... something isn't right. That's a Doublade," she muttered upon seeing a single sword with two sheaths beside it. "So why—"Valerie didn't even get to finish her thought as Cerise's second blade came bursting out of Sylveon's shadow, slashing upward and sending Sylveon airborne.

"Gotcha," Seth said smirking.

Sylveon hit the wall and then the floor with a loud thud. Blossom's hand went up.

"Sylveon is unable to battle! Doublade wins the round!"

Cerise gathered herself together and prepared for the next opponent. Valerie recalled Sylveon and kissed his ball while whispering her gratitude.

"That was a splendid performance, Seth. I must admit I was not expecting that at all," Valerie said beaming.

"Your Sylveon was really strong. I can tell this isn't going to be a simple match... which is why," Seth paused, retracting Cerise into her sphere so she could rest, "I'm giving her a break," Seth finished, reaching for another ball on his belt and expanding it before releasing the beast inside.

Bursting out of the sphere, Nidoking roared ferociously and slammed his tail into the ground. Valerie narrowed her eyes upon seeing the horned blue behemoth. Tapping her chin in thought, she devised a way to deal with the menace as she cycled through her usual choices in her mind.

It's not often I come across a trainer as well prepared as this one. The past few challengers, while challenging, weren't as ready to face me as Seth appears to be. If I'm to see just how well he's trained his team, I'll have to deviate from my usual teammates. I suppose it's fortunate that I went traveling abroad this year,  Valerie mused with a smile as she snatched up a ball from her belt and primed it. "I have to hand it to you Seth, you have definitely done your homework haven't you? I can see that Nidoking will be difficult to deal with, which is why I've prepared a little surprise of my own..." Valerie stated with a grin as she kissed her next ball before launching it onto the field.

The ball burst open and spat out the creature that dwelt within. What came forth was something Seth was definitely not expecting. The fox-like creature had a pale blue coat and her fur was more flowing and wispy. She had white tips on her tail, crest and lower halves of her legs. Seth blinked almost out of disbelief as what was most certainly a Ninetales, stood before him. Reaching into his pocket, he took out his dex and booted it up to gather the information.

"Ninetales, the Fox Pokémon. This particular Ninetales is native to Alola, a small chain of islands: Melemele Island, Akala Island and Ula'Ula Island. It creates drops of ice on its coat and showers them over its enemies. Anyone who angers it will be frozen stiff in an instant."

Seth took note that the fox before him was indeed part Fairy-type, which left her susceptible to the same weaknesses as the others. What would prove troublesome was her other typing, Ice... Nidoking's weakness. What made it worse was the sudden chilling wind that washed over the battlefield. A small cluster of clouds gathered above the arena, and small hail stones began pelting the ground.

"This is a surprise. Looks like we've got our work cut out for us," Seth replied, his eyes still marveling at the sight of his adversary's teammate. "But we're up for the challenge, aren't we Nidoking?"

Nidoking turned his head over his shoulder and gave Seth a nod before turning and facing his opponent.

"Let's see just how ready you are. Ninetales use Ice Beam!" Valerie roared fiercely.

"Flamethrower!" Seth countered hastily.

Nidoking unhinged his jaw and loosed a stream of flames that was met with a chilling beam of chilling ice that evaporated the moment it met with the flames, creating a thick haze that obstructed everyone's view. When it cleared, Nidoking was already charging in, his fist encased in a venomous purple aura as he aimed a Poison Jab at Ninetales face.

"Aurora Veil!" Valerie commanded.

Bracing herself, Ninetales cried out loudly, causing a veil of rainbow aura to shimmer before her, strengthening her defenses. Nidoking's fist met with the crippling effects of the barrier before it ever made contact with Ninetales, causing what would normally be a critical strike to become a simple glancing blow that only pushed Ninetales back slightly. Ninetales shook off the attack and crouched low, her eyes lighting up a bright pink hue.

"Extrasensory!" Valerie instructed.

Nidoking felt as though his body was being contorted in a dozen uncomfortable and painful ways before he was flung into a wall with tremendous force. Nidoking grunted and rubbed his head before slowly pulling himself off the wall and storming back onto the arena floor.

"You gonna be alright?" Seth asked, getting a nod followed by a snort in reply as Nidoking readied himself for round two. "Okay then, let's try this from a different angle. Earthquake!"

"Jump and use Ice Beam again!" Valerie counteracted.

Ninetales leaped high into the air the moment Nidoking slammed his tail on the ground and shook the arena. As she opened her mouth to unleash her attack, Seth sprung his trap.

"Stone Edge!" Seth bellowed.

Nidoking cocked back his fist and drove it into the ground, creating a shockwave and launching a barrage of sharp stones toward the airborne fox. A pain-filled yelp rang out as Ninetales was knocked out of the air and sent crashing into the arena floor.

Gotcha! was Seth's jubilant thought, until Ninetales shakily got up and shook her scuffed up fur to rid herself of the dirt that collected from the painful assault. So that move Valerie had her use was a defensive move after all. I had a weird feeling about it since I've never heard of it before. Normally Ninetales aren't this sturdy... that's some incredible reinforcement! I'll have to wrap this up quickly, and I've got just the way to do it.

"Nidoking, Flamethrower!" Seth commanded.

"This again huh? Ninetales, Moonblast this time!" Valerie shouted energetically.

The two blasts collided and shook the arena with their explosive force, obstructing the view of the onlookers. Using the makeshift smokescreen to his advantage, Nidoking dove underground and burrowed toward Ninetales who remained still yet vigilant. As the dust cleared, Nidoking was nowhere to be seen. However, there was a massive hole where he'd begun digging, a sign that he could be anywhere beneath the floor.

The ground beneath Ninetales began to break and before Valerie could get out a single command, Nidoking dove out of the ground with a powerful poison empowered uppercut that launched Ninetales into the air. As he rose with her, Nidoking swiveled around and slammed Ninetales to the ground with a powerful Iron Tail. Ninetales crashed hard into the arena floor and fell unconscious soon after.

"Ninetales is unable to battle! Nidoking wins the round!" Blossom declared after her hand went up.

Nidoking roared and began beating his chest triumphantly. Seth exhaled a sigh of relief as Ninetales was recalled to her owner. Valerie, while having lost another round, seemed pleased with the results of the match. A smile crossed her delicate features and a playful expression appeared on her face as she put Ninetales' ball away.

"My my, that Nidoking's a fiesty one isn't he? I can see that you have trained your companions well. I like how dedicated you have shown yourself to be. It seems that no matter the challenge, you are able to keep your focus and overcome it no matter how difficult they may be. I admire trainers who show these qualities, which is why I will show you my utmost respect by battling you with the full extent of my power. But be warned, this final opponent won't be like the others you've faced up until now!" Valerie declared as she released her final teammate.

The ball exploded open, and in a blinding flash of light, a small, bipedal Pokémon with a pale yellow body and black arms and feet appeared materialized onto the battlefield. Its legs had a thick, fur-like covering that resembled a hakama. There was a pair of massive jaws on the back of its head. Six teeth lined the top row while four rested on the bottom row of the jaw. While all of these features were intimidating, this wasn't what concerned Seth. There was a tiny sphere nestled in the center of a bow accessory that was tied to the hair-like appendage off to the side of the jaws. What's more, Valerie had on a purple choker with what was undoubtedly a keystone.

"What's wrong? you seem rather nervous all of a sudden," Valerie giggled, catching the hint of hesitation in Seth's eyes as he saw the keystone on Valerie's choker. "It's your move, Seth, feel free to attack any time you're ready," Valerie said with a playful smirk.

I had a feeling these last few gyms weren't going to be a picinic. They're the final obstacles for anyone aspiring to get into the League for a reason. Looks like I'll have to forge ahead even if I know I might get hammered in the process. She knows she's got me outmatched here and I'm not going to pretend I'm not a little nervous. Still... if I can get her to slip up even a little I have a chance. There's just one problem, Seth thought, his eyes lighting up slightly as he observed the arena, that Aurora Veil is still up. If I'm to take Mawile down, I need to outlast it long enough for it to go away. So...

"Nidoking, Flamethrower!" Seth commanded, thrusting his hand out as he issued the command of attack.

Nidoking opened his jaws and spewed forth a torrent of flames that hurtled through the air toward Mawile. The little Fairy-type waited patiently before leaping high and out of the way of the blast. Having counted on that, Seth issued a secondary command for a followup Stone Edge which Mawile easily defended against with her jaws. Charging forward, Nidoking lashed out with flaming fists, each being deflected by the more defensively savvy Mawile. As Nidoking launched another punch, Mawiles jaws clamped down hard onto the incoming fist, stopping the brute in place.

"Ice Fang," Valerie commanded with sternness in her voice.

A chilling aura engulfed Mawile's fangs, the icy aura soon spreading over Nidoking's arm and then the rest of his body, freezing him up to his neck. Mawile then whipped around and slammed a fierce Iron Head into the ice, shattering it and sending Nidoking into the arena floor with a loud crash. Blossom's hand went up.

"Nidoking is unable to battle! Mawile wins the round!"

"Damn, that was brutal," Jamie said wincing.

"I agree, she managed to take down Nidoking without using Mega Evolution. It makes me wonder just how strong it is when she does decide to do it," Felicity thought aloud.

Seth recalled Nidoking and looked down at the sphere with a smile. While he had hoped to settle things with Nidoking, he was glad he was there to deter the threat that was Ninetales. Even while being a new member of his team, Nidoking showed he had a lot to offer, and that was more than enough for Seth.

"You did well, new friend. Now it's time to let the others take over, so get some rest," Seth said calmly as he reached for Cerise's ball. "Cerise, en garde!"

The twin crimson blades reappeared on the field, rested up and ready to battle once more.

"Ah the Doublade, or Cerise as you call her. I rather like that name. I've been looking forward to having another go at her," Valerie said beaming as she reached up and touched the keystone on her choker.

A bright light began to radiate from the stone, and soon, the stone on Mawile's head did the same, engulfing her in a brilliant multicolored light that dazzled those in attendance. When the light died down, Seth knew that playtime was over.

"We're fighting an uphill battle here Cerise. This isn't going to be like any other battles you've fought. To be honest, I'm not liking our chances here," Seth muttered, a chuckle slipping out as he faced down what was most certain to be his toughest opponent yet.

"And yet you seem like you're enjoying yourself. I wouldn't expect anything less from you. So, if we're going to get our butts handed to us, we might as well give it all we've got right? I'll do as much as I can so whoever's next can take her out," Cerise replied, readying her blades for Seth's command.

"Alright then, Cerise use Shadow Sneak!" Seth called out fiercely.

"Mawile, Iron Defense!" Valerie countered.

Cerise dove into the shadows and divided herself, one blade darting off to the left while the other tore off to the right. Both blades converged on Mawile from opposing sides while Mawile began bolstering her defenses. As Cerise shot out of the shadows and struck hard and fast with two Sacred Sword attacks, Mawhile stood her ground and took both attacks head on, not even so much as moving an inch as the blades struck their intended targets.

"Fire Fang!"

Mawile's jaws snapped down on Cerise's blades, creating two fiery explosions that covered the arena in thick black smoke. Shielding his mouth, Seth did his best to see through the slowly fading smoke. As it lifted, he could see that Cerise had been knocked unconscious in a single blow.

"Doublade is unable to battle! Mawile wins the round!" Blossom announced while Seth retracted Cerise to her chamber.

Seth hitched Cerise's ball back to his belt and turned to face Mawile, sweat trickling down his face as he read the aura of the powerhouse standing between him and his next badge. Cycling through his teammates in his head, he realized he had absolutely nothing for it. The Aurora Veil was still present and on top of that, her defenses had just been given another boost. Pyroar seemed to be the only suitable counter but with how fast those jaws of hers were, if she were caught it would be over.

Taking a deep breath, Seth reached down and grabbed onto the one ball he knew was one of the least logical choices. Still, it was the one team member that had the most experience in uncertain situations and had conquered its disadvantage before. Now, he was counting on him to do it just one more time. Gripping the ball tightly, Seth whipped the ball onto the arena floor.

"Bisharp, en garde!"

Emerging from the light that erupted from the sphere was Seth's most notorious companion. The Sword Blade Pokémon rose up from his knee and directed his focus to the opposition with unwavering determination blazing in his eyes. While most would have questioned what made him decide to choose Bisharp, a Steel-type, when Valerie has shown that she has a strategy to defend against it. To the untrained eye, it would seem as though Seth had made a mistake, but to his friends, they knew him long enough to know that his Bisharp was not to be underestimated.

If I want to have any hope of winning this, I'll need to boost my defenses too...

"Iron Defense!" Seth called out, changing up his offensive strategy, much to the surprise of Valerie.

"Proceeding with caution I see. Very well, if you'll not come to me, we will go to you! Fire Fang!" Valerie cried out.

Bisharp stood his ground and planted his feet, waiting as Mawile charged at him with both flaming jaws agape. Powering up his bladed arms, Bisharp shifted his stance as Mawile closed the gap.

"Metal Claw!" Seth roared.

Bisharp swung and connected with the side of one of the jaws that aimed to latch onto his arm, sending Mawile sprawling through the air away from him. Mawile landed with a thud and pulled herself up to dust off her fur. Bisharp narrowed his eyes at the Deceiver Pokémon. While that blow would have winded any other opponent, Mawile shrugged it off as though nothing happened at all. It was then that the difference in their abilities became clear. He was going to need nothing short of a miracle to defeat this foe.

"Psycho Cut!" was Seth's command as Mawile began to move again.

Every blade on Bisharp's body began to light up with bright pink energy. Suddenly, multiple crescent blades came shooting out of the blades on Bisharp's stomach blades as well as the one on his head. Mawile began swatting them away with her jaws as she ran, her body glowing a dangerous pink as she closed the distance. Sidestepping his opponent, Bisharp brought down a Shadow Claw that was parried by one of Mawile's jaws while the other grabbed hold of him and hefted him into the air before slamming him hard on the ground.

"Fire Fang!" Valerie shouted hastily.

"Blast her away with Flash Cannon!" Seth countered swiftly.

The blade that was caught in one of the jaws of Mawile began to glow brightly as Bisharp channeled power into the attack. A loud bang was heard as Bisharp unleased a cannon blast right inside of the steel trap of a jaw that had a grip on him, freeing him while sending Mawile airborne. Bisharp got back up and watched as Mawile hit the ground hard once again. Mawile once again got back up and readied herself for another round. Seth could tell that this attack had a bit more of an effect on her despite how calmly she got back up.

"So that stubborn little guy finally evolved huh?" Felicity mused to herself as she watched Bisharp bolt from his position while cloaking his blades in shadows.

Mawile also charged in, Flames sparking in her jaws as she lashed out at Bisharp, the sounds of their clash echoing as they came to blows time and time again.

"I had enough trouble with it while it was still a Pawniard. Now that it's evolved, I'm kinda nervous about fighting it myself," Jamie admitted as Bisharp rammed home a Metal Claw while receiving an unexpected punch between his stomach blades that propelled him away from Mawile and skidding on his back along the arena floor.

A powerful aura radiated around Mawile for a split second, dissolving after the boost was complete. Bisharp placed both bladed appendages on the ground and forced himself up, swaying a bit as he rose to a stand once more. Even with his fortified defenses, the attack Mawile used had damaged him more significantly than the others had. As if that wasn't enough, Mawile was racing in, fist cocked back and powered up again.

"Power-up Punch!" Valerie's call enjoining Mawile to continue pressing her advantage.

"Revenge!" Seth charged as Mawile drew closer.

Bisharp's body glowed bright orange as Mawile surged forward. As he thrust all his weight into what he'd hoped to be the finishing blow, Mawile changed her tactic and latched onto Bisharp's arms with both jaws before going to town on him, hammering him with punch after punch to his chest plate. Seth called for consecutive Iron Defenses in order to ease the damage being done, but he knew it wouldn't last long. Every punch gave Mawile another boost while Bisharp's defenses slowly crumbled.

Bisharp's eyes were filled with pain and panic as he stubbornly tried to hold his ground, digging his feet into the arena floor to keep from falling backwards. While Mawile was a lightweight her punches felt the exact opposite. He could feel his knees buckling under the pressure as each hit became stronger and more powerful. His heart hammered in his ears with every blow. His vision began blurring as Mawile continued to strike. He knew that defeat was inevitable, and he could handle that. What he couldn't handle, however, was being beaten like this. He'd trained far too long to be ragdolled like this.

In that moment, as Mawile wound up for another strike, something inside Bisharp came bursting to the surface like a swimmer that had nearly run out of breath and was now gasping for air. A dangerous aura surrounded Bisharp's body, encasing him in a brilliant crimson light. At the same time, Seth felt an all too familiar sensation as his own aura began radiating from his body and intermingling with that of Bisharp's. As the two aura's met, they soon merged, becoming a violet hue as if becoming one.

When the light died down, Seth saw that Bisharp had undergone a most startling transformation. His chest was now more reinforced with a sturdier plate of armor. His helm now extended beyond the sides of his face while the golden blade that rested on top had grown longer. His shoulders were wider and bore a yellow trinagular design down the center of each. While his legs remained the same, there was a reduction to one of his stomach blades. Perhaps the most notable change, and the most astonishing of all, was that his once bladed arms had developed into a silver, red-tipped spear and an oval-shaped black and red shield with a sharp blade protruding out of the top.

At the same time, a purple ring could be seen around both Seth's eyes and Bisharp's beady black ones. Everyone looked on in stunned silence at the phenomenon that had taken place within the arena. Mawile, who had been rather confident up until this point seemed hesitant upon seeing the baffling transformation her adversary had taken on. Valerie was at a loss for words even. There was no way to describe what was going on even if she wanted to.

"So this is what happened that day," Seth muttered to himself as memories of his sister's kidnapping and the battle he had with Enzo flashed through his mind. "I was so angry I wasn't even paying attention at all," Seth said as he looked at his hands, marveling at the power that flowed from him to Bisharp. "Not sure what this is, but I feel a bit more confident about this match now!" Seth declared as he met Valerie's gaze.

"This is an unexpected development indeed," Valerie said, a bead of sweat trickling down her face as she felt the pressure coming off of Bisharp's form. "I don't know what you've done here Seth, but I'm definitely intrigued to find out! Mawile, Power-up Punch!"

"Bisharp, you have a shield arm now, use it like you've seen me use mine when we spar, then counter with Metal Claw!" Seth ordered.

As Mawile launched herself at her opponent, Bisharp followed the given directive and brought up his shield arm and braced himself, the attack from Mawile connecting hard, causing his knees to buckle under the pressure. While it was strong, he was still able to remain standing long enough to parry the strike and drive his spear straight into Mawile's stomach, catapulting her backwards and slamming into the ground. Mawile struggled to her feet, the effects of the Aurora Veil now fading as she attempted to steady herself.

She cringed after taking a step forward and placed a hand over where the spear had struck. It throbbed painfully, causing her to grit her teeth and hiss. She cast a spiteful glare at Bisharp who was also finding it difficult to remain standing. While the transformation provided him with a significant power increase, it did nothing for his stamina as he was still very much beat up from the start of the fight. Mawile sprung from her spot and unhinged her jaws while airborne.

"He's just as tired as you are Mawile! End it with Fire Fang!"

"Knock it away and use Psycho Cut!" Seth countered.

A loud clanging sound was heard as Bisharp swung his shield and bashed Mawile away from him toward the edge of the arena. Wasting no time, Bisharp raised his spear arm and flooded it with psychic energy. With a mighty swing, Bisharp brought it down like an axe splitting a log and launched a wave of crescent blades in Mawile's direction. Mawile barely had enough time to process what was happening before she was struck with multiple exploding blades of psychic energy. The force of the attack blew a chunk of the arena away and sent Mawile sailing through the air into the far corner of the room, hitting a wall before falling unconscious on the ground.

Blossom rushed over to Mawile and peered over to see that Mawile was indeed knocked out. Turning around, she cleared her throat and raised her hand high. "Mawile is unable to battle! Bisharp wins the round which means that the victory goes to Seth Da Silva the challenger!"
