seventeen.
Sunday sat across from Lucifer at a quaint outdoor café, the midday sun casting a warm glow over their table. The smell of freshly brewed coffee and the faint sound of city chatter filled the air. Lucifer, as always, looked effortlessly handsome. His tailored navy suit hugged his muscular frame perfectly, and the way he rolled up his sleeves revealed his tattooed forearms-a contrast of polished and rugged that Sunday found maddeningly attractive.
She tried to focus on her salad, but her gaze kept drifting back to him. The sunlight reflected off his skin, highlighting the sharp angles of his jaw and the way his locs framed his face. He caught her staring and smirked, his deep baritone breaking the silence.
"Whatchu lookin' at, princess?" he teased, leaning back in his chair and running a hand over his freshly retwisted locs.
Sunday felt her cheeks heat up, but she refused to back down. "You," she said with a playful shrug. "You're my favorite view."
Lucifer chuckled, the sound low and rich, sending a pleasant shiver down her spine. "Flattery gon' get you everywhere."
She laughed softly and pulled out her phone, an idea forming in her mind. As he reached for his glass of water, she discreetly opened TikTok and hit record. The camera focused on his hands as he casually adjusted his watch and rolled up his sleeves, the veins on his arms subtly flexing with each movement.
"What you doin'?" he asked, raising an eyebrow when he noticed her phone.
"Nothing," she replied innocently, a sly smile playing on her lips.
He leaned forward, his intense gaze locking onto hers. "Don't play with me, Kailea."
"I'm not!" she protested, giggling as she quickly ended the recording.
Her followers were going to lose their minds over this one. For the past few months, she'd kept her relationship with Lucifer under wraps, teasing her fans with faceless glimpses of him here and there. It wasn't that she didn't want to share him with the world-she just enjoyed the mystery, the soft launch of their love.
"Better not be postin' no nonsense," he muttered, though his lips twitched in amusement.
Sunday reached across the table, her hand finding his. "Relax, bubba. You trust me, don't you?"
"Always," he said without hesitation, his thumb brushing against her knuckles.
As they settled into their meal, Sunday tilted her head and asked, "You graduate with your master's next month, right?"
Lucifer nodded, his expression softening. "Yeah, mama. Can't believe it's almost here."
"I'm so proud of you," she said earnestly, her brown eyes shining with admiration.
"Thank you, princess. Means a lot comin' from you."
Sunday squeezed his hand, her thumb tracing circles on the back of it. "We're gonna celebrate big. You deserve it."
Lucifer smiled, the kind that reached his eyes and made his dimples appear. "Ya'll still goin' to Japan after?"
She nodded, a hint of excitement and disappointment in her voice. "Mhm. Me, My parents, Mia, Eliana, and Noah. But I'm still bummed you can't come with us."
"Me too," he admitted, his voice tinged with regret. "But I got work. You know how it is."
Sunday pouted, her bottom lip jutting out slightly. "Yeah, I know. Doesn't mean I have to like it."
Lucifer leaned forward, his large hand cupping her cheek. "I'll make it up to you, mama. Promise."
Her pout turned into a soft smile as she leaned into his touch. "You always do."
After lunch, they strolled through the nearby park, the crisp spring air filled with the scent of blooming flowers. Sunday looped her arm through his, her petite frame dwarfed by his tall, muscular build.
"So, what's the plan for the rest of your day?" she asked, glancing up at him.
"Meetin' with a client, then some paperwork back at the office," he replied, his tone casual.
"You're always working," she said, half-joking.
"Gotta grind while I'm young," he said with a shrug. "Tryna build somethin' real for us, you feel me?"
Sunday's heart swelled at his words. "You're already building something real, Z. And I'm so lucky to be a part of it."
He stopped walking, turning to face her. "You ain't just a part of it, Kailea. You it. Everything I do, I do for us."
Her eyes glistened as she stood on her tiptoes to kiss him. The kiss was soft but filled with emotion, a silent exchange of love and gratitude.
Later that evening, Sunday posted the TikTok of Lucifer rolling up his sleeves. Within minutes, her notifications were flooded with comments, some more inappropriate than others.
Sunday laughed as she scrolled through the chaos. She didn't tag him, of course-her followers weren't ready for all that. But she did reply to one comment that asked if he was her boyfriend.
"Maybe ;)" she wrote, her cheeky response only fueling the speculation.
When Lucifer came home that night, he found her curled up on the couch, her phone in hand and a mischievous grin on her face.
"What you smilin' about?" he asked, setting his briefcase down and loosening his tie.
"Your fans love you," she teased, holding up her phone to show him the TikTok comments .
He shook his head, laughing as he sat down beside her. "Kailea i hope you didn't post something crazy."
"Don't worry." she shot back, leaning into his side.
"Okay," he said, pressing a kiss to her temple.
