i think his English accent when he tries
to speak polish is cute and i really
appreciate he tries to learn polish because
i grow up speaking polish with my grandparents
and I still make some grammar mistakes
even though speaking for my whole life

„I just say how it is: your language sucks!", Matty admits while going three pages back in his polish grammar book because he, again, didn't understand a thing about it.
Emilia looks at her boyfriend and tries to hide her smile, but Matty sees it nevertheless.
„You better stop grinning, you're the lucky one here. English is simple!", he gruns.
Emilia can't disagree with her boyfriend. Polish grammar and pronunciation is one of the hardest things to learn if it's not your foreign language. That's why Emilia hold Matty's engagement in learning polish nevertheless in such high regards. Of course, it is helpful to learn the language of the national team you play in, but Emilia sees the hard work Matty puts in into learning polish as fast as possible and that's just admirable.
Emilia herself learned English as a second language, when her family moved to England a couple of years ago. But her father always thought her a bit of English at home, so she wasn't as helpless with the language as it is with Matty, whose family barely speaks polish.
Sometimes Emilia thinks it would've been easier for Matty to just play for the English national team but she knows he always dreamt of speaking polish and playing in the polish shirt, to go back to his roots.
It's cute — the effort he puts in. It really is. Emilia knows, she wouldn't be sitting at the table, trying to learn polish if she didn't spoke it already.
„I'm here if you need any help!", she says and steps to the table in the dining room, which Matty uses for studying.
„Yeah, I know", he says: „But I guess I just need to learn all that stuff by heart and you can't really help me with that!"
Matty leans back and looks up at Emilia, who starts to stroke his face with her fingers. She moves her hand up to run her fingers through the long hair of Matty's.
„You might also just need a break. I think you've been studying for over three hours now, Babe!", she says. Matty sighs and looks at the open book in front of him.
„Yeah", he admits: „Yeah maybe, it's enough for now!"
