Roadtrip Day 14
Location: Naga City

Alice Flonne's POV:

"EEEEH?!?! Late at night?!"

"Yes. I'm just give a little try to have 'Food Is Love' open until the wee hours of the morning." I simply explained the scheme.

"Umm...sorry for asking you this but...where in the world did you think of that idea?" Lexi asked me worriedly.

"Well...that's on my mind the whole time. In fact, I was dreaming about that idea when I am in a deep sleep earlier. It tells me that something good will happen if we can stay together, and cook some food throughout the night until the sun shines again."

"Wait...you mean from dusk till dawn?! Alice, we're tired from the five hour trip as compared to you." Claire complains about my idea. "Can we just sell foods tomorrow?"

"Come on, guys! Let us try just once!" I plea to my friends with puppy eyes. "Promise, I will try this once...we won't do this ever again."

"She's right, guys..."

I was startled when somebody else agrees with my idea...I looked around...and that I only knew...that it was Lexi who defended my idea...he smiled and winked at me.

"Okay...its only three in the afternoon so it's still a bit early. How about we take a little break and open shop at seven. How's that sound, Flonne?"

"Sounds great! Hehehe!" I admired on my boyfriend's little plan and giggled. "Please guys, let me have this night!"

Now with my Lexi siding with me...Claire and Danica's faces finally smiled at me...a sign that they will finally approve my plan.

"Alright then." Danica simply agrees with me. "But we need to get some rest."

"Yeah...that's what Alex just said. Hehehe!" Claire adds to the conversation. "But where will gonna stay for awhile?"

"Umm...guys. if you want to sleep right now, go ahead." I smiled as I make a recommendation. "Just close all the windows, lock the doors and shut all the covers so nobody can see us. We just need a little light bulb inside."

"Oh...never thought of that. Ehehehe!" Claire then directed the crew. "Alright, guys. Do what Alice is telling us. We'll gonna have a long night tonight!"

And that's exactly what happened: Claire closes the truck's windows, Danica locks the doors and Lexi shuts the curtains of the truck from the inside. The girls gathered at the entrance...set some mattress...and gets a nap. Lexi stay at his driver's seat, turns off the engine and followed suit....yaaawwnnn...I guess I need some shuteye as well...my nap during the nature trail is perhaps not enough to regain my energy. Oh well....zzzzzzz.....

Four hours later....

"...hnnng...hnnng..."

Huh? What's going on? Something's vibrating on my pocket...oh! It's my cellphone! Hehehe!

I picked it up to see who's texting me...wait...Catherine...oh yeah, that's right...she got my phone number, thanks to Claire! Hmph! Let's see...

"Hello, big sis! It's me, Kat! ^_^

It's been awhile seen we see each other here in Cagayan. Yesterday, we put my parents into rest. Don't worry, though, I'm not crying anymore. You know what, my aunt Charlene is my foster parent now...she's as kind as my mother...and as strong as my father. And right now, she paying all my tuition fees now...so I can start study in elementary next week! Yaay! I'm so blessed!

But still I miss my parents so much...well...you looked like my mother so I tried to text you. How's life, big sis Alice? Did you find your parents?"

I can't stop myself from smiling when I read Kat's message...I finally realize that somebody has started a new life, thanks to myself. Alright, I'll give her a reply...

Alice: "Hello, Kat!

Thanks for the concern. I say that life right now is...umm...just like yours. I faced some big problems along the way but don't worry though! I am able to manage it thanks to my friends...especially Lexi...I mean Alex! Hehehe!

Oh, by the way, I just found my one of my brothers, his name is Kyle. He's my 'big detective sidekick' when I was a kid...but little did I know that my sidekick is hiding a secret. That's why with Alex's help, I was able to uncover and solve it at the same time!

Anyway, if you have something to ask me, just let me know, okay?"

When I finished my reply, I feel a strange feeling of calm within me. I mean if it wasn't for Kat's text...I'm doubt my decision to open the food truck at night because my legs is yet to be healed. But now, I will not change my plan...I will open this food truck as usual...and I will still do my best.

Oh! It's seven in the evening already? Okay...since the gang around me is still asleep, I'll open shop by myself. I put my hands to the edge of the driver's and passenger seats so I could stand up...woah...ugh! I can't stand this wobbly and lifeless legs who doesn't cooperate with me! Alright...if I can just swing my body forward so I could cling to my wheelchair which is next to me...okay, swing! Waaah!!! My hand slipped! I'm gonna fall...aaaah!!!!

"Umph!" Huh? Why I didn't hit the floor? In fact...I landed in something soft...I looked back and I saw...Lexi broke my fall again...this time, I landed on his soft hands...

"Ehem! Who told you that you can walk alone?" Lexi makes an evil grin to me. "Hehehe! Just kidding! Here, let me help you."

"Oh...ehehehe...thank you." Though my face is blushing, I smiled at him in gratitude.

Lexi helped me to stand up and walk by swinging my side of the body so that my legs can follow suit...it means when I swing my left side of the body, my left leg will move...so does the right side. The process goes on for the next few minutes before I realize something...

"Umm...Lexi. Do you know what time it is?"

"Yes. Let's see..." He then glances to his watch. "It's fifteen past seven."

"WHAAAT?! We are supposed to open shop fifteen minutes ago!"  I scolded him for being forgetful. "I told you that we are going to open shop at exactly seven in the evening, right?"

"I know, but..." He doesn't finished his side and lowered his head in shame.

"He-hey! I'm not meant to discredit what you're doing to me!" Now, I'm the one who's explaining. "So-sorry for the outburst, Lexi..."

Lexi doesn't say anything...he just carry to my wheelchair. When he helped me to sit...he sat down in front of me...and tickles me at my sides!

"HEHEHE!!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! HEHEHE!!! PLE-PLEASE STOP! IT TI-TICKLES!!! HEHEHE!!!"

Well, I guess he let's all of his feelings out by tickling me.

"Alright, let's open shop together, okay?"

"Sure, Lexi."

Lexi then goes on to wake up Claire and Danica, open the doors and windows to start tonight's transactions.

"Hello, Alice...yaaaawwn..." Danica's the first to be up.

"Hi! How's your sleep, guys?" I returned favor and asked her.

"Pretty refreshing, at least!" Danica replies with a giggle. "Remember, Alice. If this plan fails, it's all on you, okay?"

"Yeah, I know that. But at least, we tried, right?" I replied back with a wink.

It's twenty minutes past seven on the evening. The windows are up, everybody's ready...and my recipes for tonight are ready. We're set to make our first...and perhaps only night shift of our food truck...and a chance to prove that my cooking is better than Alex's fastfood!

"THE 'FOOD IS LOVE' IS NOW OPEN!!!"
