EIGHT

Softly splashing water droplets hit the the car windows as the car drove onward. Lucy watched the raindrops race down the windows before hitting the muggy streets of London. The streets that awaited people covered in rain jackets anticipating the British family.

"We're almost there Your Highness." Their frail chauffeur, Tom, encouraged the timid Royal family who usually weren't as frightened for their outings. Unlike most outings though this one would be a more popular event since the press were enlightened with the news of Lucy and her latest breakup and Harry's most recent scandals.

"Now, behave yourselves I don't want the press to be  any more chuffed with this nonsense." Charles informed as the two nodded their heads. Harry, who had just turned 20 rolled his eyes with annoyance as the car pulled into where all the paparazzi was planted waiting to get the true facts.

"It'll be okay Luce... Just ignore them." Harry told Lucy as she gave a small smile nodding her head before Tom opened the door that led to the millions of flashes blinding the princess.

"Princess Lucy, what happened between you and Peter?"

"Harry, why were you wearing a nazi costume at a party?"

"How was it falling into a pool legless?"

As the three of the royal family members urged through the crowd Harry chuckled at the last question while eying the man who had asked it. A middle aged man who's faced was covered with vintage glasses and holding a camera that was stuck in Harry's face.

"Well if you ask me it felt pretty nice almost killing myself in the shallow end." He began, chuckling at the mans now startled face. "But I appreciate your concern."

Now entering the castle not a second had passed by before Lucy darted towards the stairs which led to her chambers. Harry stared staring down at his shoes as his father came in letting the tall French door shut violently behind him.

"Let her go, she needs time." Charles informed patting Harry on the shoulder before making his way towards the library.

Digging her fork midway into the Black Forest cake she had received after dinner Lucy sat alone in the kitchen finishing her dessert.

"May I come in?" She heard the voice of her ginger brother as he made his way to the counter Lucy sat perched on.

"Well, your already here." Lucy shot back as Harry smirked grabbing the fork from Lucy's grasp and popping a piece of cake into his mouth.

"What's your deal Luce? What's been upsetting you?" Harry asked before Lucy's eyes gazed at the plate now covered in chocolate crumbs.

"I just miss the feeling of his presence." Lucy gave in as Harry chuckled under his breath.

"Your aware you only dated for a day correct?" Harry asked making Lucy roll her eyes at his humor which never failed to make her laugh.

"But I didn't know him for just a day." She said gently laying the fork on the plate bringing it to the sink covered with dirty dishes from early that day.

"I know Luce but he's the one who made the mistake you had nothing to do with it." Harry encouraged watching the princess begin to wash her plate. A habit she developed when she was younger to clean when she was stressed.

"I just don't get why he would do such a thing.." She told him stopping her cleaning and staring at the China dish lined with lines of gold.

"I don't know either Luce but it's the past and there's nothing you can fix unfortunately."

"I'm aware." She answered quickly drying the dish before lying it on the counter to be put away from the staff.

"Just don't beat yourself up anymore okay?" Harry asked as she gave a nod before enveloping Harry in a tight hug shedding a single tear.
