Chapter 6
In the upcoming days, you had noticed that Wash was ignoring you. Tucker was being incredibly awkward after the kiss but at least he still talked to you and made jokes. You even started to take walks around the canyon with Caboose. It was relaxing, honestly.
Caboose had snapped you out of your thinking daze. "You ever wonder..."
"What?"
"Nevermind." Caboose shook his head, and started to admire the upper walls of the canyon. You smile at his silliness.
"Hey (y/n), look! I see glistening things!" Caboose pointed towards a small steep above. You narrowed your eyes. Someone was watching you. Active camouflage. You quickly put Caboose's hand down, not wanting to attract attention. You told him it was time to go back to the base and he happily agreed.
"Wash, can I tell you something?" You went to his room after you had returned to the base. He was sitting on the side of the bed quietly. Well thank god he wasn't doing what he was doing last time you came into his room. Hehe. He turned his head towards you, his bluish grey eyes staring, almost glaring at you.
"What." He stated coldly. You noticed his shoulders tense up.
"I think someone's watching us." You sat next to him, grabbing his hand gently. He yanked his hand away from yours roughly, most likely in unknown anger.
You narrowed your eyes at him, hurt, "What's wrong with you?"
"Stop. Please." His voice was strained, almost like he was forced to stay away from you. Tears started to form, but you tried hard to stop them.
"Wash talk to me!" You pleaded, concerned.
"Like how you and Tucker talked on the roof a few days ago? Yeah, come on let's go on the roof and I'll confess my feelings for you. Maybe then you'll stop pretending to care." Wash spat.
That was it. The tears started falling down on your face. Wash had immediately regretted what he said; you were allowed to have feelings for other people too. He was just jealous. He didn't mean to hurt you.
"(y/n), wait-!"
You sat up quickly and left, slamming the door. Tucker was outside, looking concerned but you just ran past him, accidentally bumping against his shoulder. Tucker just stood there in complete and utter confusion, glancing back at you and Wash's door.
You stopped to rest at a dark cave nearby. You looked behind you to make sure Tucker hadn't followed you there. Sighing, you entered the cave.
"Wow." You mumbled, gazing at the flashing orange lights engraved in the cave's wall. They reminded you of candles.
You felt someone wrap their hands around your mouth, preventing you from screaming for help. "pleash nwoo!" You begged, your voice muffled. The person chuckled and said,
"I don't want anybody to hear you. That would be...
Unfortunate."
===================
Bum bum bum! Cliffhanger.
(Not really, you know who that is obviously. Obviously, I made it obvious. Is it obvious that I'm saying too many obvious' right now? Huh.)
