Ritsy's room

She was standing in the balcony staring at the night skyline. It wasn't like how it was in her hometown, adorned with stars. It was full of skyscrapers and no star in the vicinity this made her feel more homesick.

Mumbai was also somewhat same but honestly she never felt homesick or out of place there because she had her support system, her parents, her brother and Sia with her. "I so want to get out of here I have no one here." She sighed mumbling to herself.

But it was heard by Ro who was standing at the door because she hadn't locked her door (Ritsy don't get influenced by this gits please) "Oh? And here I thought we were friends!" he exclaimed sadly feigning hurt. This startled her and she turned to see him standing with a plate full of food which surprisingly were her favorites.

Ro kept the plate on the side table and came to her. He took her hand in his and said "I know this feeling Rits. The feeling of unfamiliarity and loneliness." she blinked up at him and freed her hand from his very reluctantly. 

Ro visibly felt hurt at that but decided to maintain a respectful distance and not say or do something stupid in the flow of emotions. So he turned towards the skyline and started "You know when I joined the national team in 2007 it was so unfamiliar and intimidating. Everyone was way more senior and experienced than me, Sachin paaji, jammy bhai, Dada, Yuvi pa and Mahi bhai too." he sighed remembering how shit scared he was.

"I didn't used to talk to anyone back then, I was nothing like I am right now. But all of them made me comfortable especially mahi bhai. Even when he was feeling somewhat same pressure because of the new captaincy at least he had people who he knew he could lean on and I had none. So mahi bhai became that person for me, the one I could lean on." Ritsy was now engrossed she nodded at him to continue when he looked at her briefly.

"So that's what me, vi and mahi bhai were trying to do with you. I know we started on a wrong foot but you really have become important to me in a very short span of time Ritika. Please ignore whatever Virat was saying I don't plan to go dates with anyone at this point." Ro said hinting at things he wasn't good at saying.

"Oh you don't?" Ritsy asked dejectedly looking at him with her doe eyes which seemed to draw him in whenever he looked in her brown orbs. "U no I meant- um not with anyone else." he blurted out and facepalmed himself for saying something so stupid.

Ritsy laughed looking at him feeling wayy lighter and better than she was feeling a few minutes back. A gust of wind blew and she shivered involuntarily and her hair flew on her face. Ro gave a soft smile and tucked the strand of hair behind her ear, but he gasped having touched her cheek.

"Ritsy do you have fever?" Ro asked panicking cupping her face. "I don't know maybe I think I do-" she said chuckling nervously feeling a bit weak. 

"What the hell?? Come we'll check your temperature." Ro said hastily dragging her but she felt a bit dizzy and swayed on her feet he held her and made her sit on the bed "I am so sorry- I shouldn't have dragged you like that I just panicked. Don't worry everything's ok." Ro rambled searching for the first aid kit.

Ritsy laughed weakly and said "Ro it's you who's worrying not me." Ro found the thermometer and made her sit with the support of the headboard, put the thermometer in her mouth and sat besides her holding her hand and drawing soothing circles with his thumb.

Ritsy looked at him amused thinking is this really the guy I thought was arrogant and self centered? She shook her head at her own stupidity "Hey why are shaking your head that vehemently you'll feel dizzy!!" Ro wailed cupping her cheeks and Ritsy was feeling already better.

The thermometer beeped and Ro took it out and yelled "OH GOD IT'S FUCKING 101.5!!! RITSY WHY WERE YOU SO CARELESSS HUHH???" "Shushh Ro it's just fever it will go away. Why are you yelling like I am going to die?" Ritsy said.

Ro kept a hand on her mouth immediately and Ritsy's eyes widened "Baby we don't talk about dying. Our story has just started we have a long way to go." Ro said looking in her eyes effectively stunning her into silence.

They were looking at each other, Ro removed his hand from her mouth and was cupping her face again. They were subconsciously inching closer like some force was drawing them closer just then Virat walked in his eyes widening seeing them like that. (Remember our boys don't know how to lock doors)

He turned around dramatically and yelled "OH GOD NO I DIDN'T SEE ANYTHING NO NOTHING NOT AT ALL." This made Ro flew away from Ritsy and turned around to see Vi standing with his back facing them , his hands on his ears and his eyes firmly shut.

"Idiot look here." Ro said shaking Vi's shoulder. Vi turned around and opened his one eye to see Ro looking flustered and irritated and Ritsy blushing furiously and probably embarrassed. "STOP BEING DRAMATIC VI! YOU COULD HAVE KNOCKED." Ro yelled at him.

"YOU COULD HAVE LOCKED THE DOOR IF YOU HAD TO DO- DO ALL THIS." Vi yelled back. "Shut up we weren't doing anything." Ro said looking down heat crawling up his neck "She has- SHE HAS 101.4 FEVER YOU IDIOT!!" Ro yelled suddenly.

"What??" Vi's teasing face transformed into one of concern immediately. He went towards her and checked the thermometer. Ro sighed and took the plate of food towards them and said "Rits please eat this you have to take medicine." 

Ritsy made a face and said "No I don't want to eat, I have a bitter taste in my mouth." Ro shook his head and sat besides her again "Baby you'll have to eat na, how you'll come to cheer for me tomorrow in the stadium for me if you aren't well? I need all the luck for tomorrow you know it's a decider match right? Hai na Vi?" Ro said and glanced towards Vi who was looking at them with a proud grandfather expression.

"Yeah yeah of course." Vi said as if suddenly realizing he was being asked something. "Here I'll feed you." Ro said giving a bite to Ritsy who was looking at him dazedly. She ate more than half of it but couldn't finish it. Ro nodded and took medicine for her, gave her water and ordered her to gulp it down which she did obediently.

Who would dare to defy Ro's skipper voice after all? Vi thought and shook his heads at the oblivious kids who were so in love but aren't confessing it. He knew this silence wasn't going to last longer and he was very happy for them.

Ritsy was getting up from the bed and Ro hastened to hold her "Where are you going?" he asked "To freshen up, do you wanna come?" she teased but realized it didn't really sound good. They looked at each other blushing again.

 Vi sighed at the kids "I am out of here am gonna go sleep. Ro you stay her with her in case she needs anything but don't do ANYTHING ELSE she's sick and we have a match tomorrow." Vi said pointedly embarrassing them further. 

"No need of that I'll manage." Ritsy said half heartedly with Ro's arms still wrapped around her "You don't want me here?" Ro pouted like a kid to which Ritsy hurriedly said "Noooo I want you here...I- mean uh I won't mind." 

Ro walked her to the washroom and sat besides Vi on the couch and suddenly hugged him tight. "Vi all of this feels so unreal! Do you think this could finally be my forever? Do you think I even deserve it when I couldn't save one of my closest friends. Will I be even able to protect her?"Ro said everything he was overthinking.

Vi just hugged him back tightly and said "Ro don't overthink it and let everything happen with the flow. If anyone in this world deserves love it's you mere yaar! We already do and we have someone else to add onto that love now. Don't fret ok?" Vi said patting his back and walking away leaving an ecstatic Ro behind.
