SUFI (Song Used For Inspiration): 'Clocks' by Coldplay

~~~~~
I open a sleepy eye and look around my room. Lily was still sleeping, she was snoring, actually, white sheets covering half of her body. I groan and smirk at her direction. After yesterday, we all went back to our homes and we called it a day. I was still tired, I had to be honest about that. I looked over at the clock, it read 7:30 a.m. I groan and fall back on my bed again, rubbing my eyes. No wonder I was still tired, I woke up early in the morning. Suddenly, my phone buzzes, and I reach my hand over towards it, picking it up and looking at who was calling. Weird, it was from nobody that I knew.
"Probably a wrong number." I mutter, putting it back on the counter. All of a sudden, a text message arrived, I looked at it,
'Hi Remmi, it's me, Rob!'
My eyes widen, Rob? How did he get my phone number?
'Rob? How did you find out this was my phone number?' I waited, and he texted back,
'I looked in Lily's purse and found her phone, it had your phone number on it, so I wrote it down.' Of course, that was the only logical answer. I roll my eyes and text back,
'What is it Rob?'
He answers, 'I wanted to know if you probably wanted to go to my house and meet a few people, here's the location :P [insert location]'
I raise an eyebrow, 'Like who?'
'I don't know, some people, they're my friends.' He answers.
I tap my lip in thought, but I answer, 'Sure, why not, what time?'
'Any time, as long as it's today.' He texts.
'All right, I'll see you later ;o' I text, and I put my phone away. I look over at Lily, who was still sleeping. I roll my eyes and grasp a pillow, throwing it at her, which hits her face.
She groans, "What was that for?!"
"Rise and shine princess," I say, grinning, "We're going to Rob's house later."
She groans again, "But we already went somewhere yesterday! I'm too lazy to go anywhere else!"
"Well then get your lazy butt ready, because we've got more to do." I answer, grabbing my bag of clothes and getting up, walking to the bathroom.
"Ew! That's what she said!" I hear her exclaim, which made me laugh. I look at myself in the mirror, and I see a plain girl, with bags under her eyes, tan skin, brunette hair, plump lips, brown eyes, and a scratch on her cheek from a small accident. Yep, I'm as simple as I can get. I decide to shower, since I didn't want to smell awful when meeting new people, even though I'm awkward when meeting new people anyway. I lock the door and take off my clothes, turning on the shower in the process. Once the water was warm, I entered it, feeling the soft touch of the water against my skin.
For a moment, at least one moment, I felt tired, much more tired than when I woke up. I found this out since my feet and legs were aching, and I felt like falling into the warm water and sleeping there, while the water was hitting against me. But I didn't, it sounded too much like a fantasy. I put shampoo on my hand, and start setting it on my hair, feeling the sudden softness of the strands of hair in my fingers. I suddenly hear pending at the door, "REMMI! Don't take too long!"
I roll my eyes, "I just started!"
"HURRY UP! And don't get distracted! I have to go pee!" Lily shouts. I groan, but she was still right. I did sometimes take too long, and I sometimes got distracted as well, I guess there are many thoughts going on in my head to just focus on one thing.
I sigh, "Alright, don't worry, just wait."
Yet I continue, but not as slow and thoughtful as before, since I didn't want to take very long. Once I was done, I turned off the water and got ahold of a towel, wrapping it around myself quickly, grabbing my bag, and opening the door. There stood Lily, waiting, with a very impatient look on her face.
"Are you happy now, Princess England?" I ask in a mocking way.
"Just shut up and move out of the way." She mutters, going past me as I left the bathroom, closing the door. I look over at my bag and put some clothes on, adding my undergarments first, and then putting on black leggings, a long sleeved, velvet shirt, white socks, and short boots. Lastly, I got my dark grey sweater and put it on, which gave me a slight warmth.
"Lily! Hurry! I want to get myself um, ready!" I say in a posh voice.
"Just a second!" Lily shouts, flushing the toilet and glaring at me once she comes out of the bathroom, "There, happy?"
"Yes, now get yourself ready, you don't want to look like shit in front of new people." I say, crossing my arms.
". . . You're right, I should wear something reasonable." She says, grabbing her own bag of clothes and dragging it to the bathroom. I roll my eyes and make myself some cereal, eating it slowly, feeling the cold, silky feeling of the milk and the crunchiness of my cereal inside of my mouth.
"Boom! I'm done! And I didn't even take long! Unlike some people." Lily says, coming out of the bathroom. She wore regular jeans, a light orange shirt, and black converse, with some mascara on, but only a short quantity so that you notice.
"What's up with you, princess? You're looking fancy tonight." I say, smirking and adding some mascara on to my eyelashes as well.
"I don't want to look like I'm tired, ok? I'm not those natural chicks who wear 100% nothing." Lily says, sticking out her tongue at me.
"Or is it because of Mat? Hm?" I ask, continuing to smirk.
She gives me a playful look of disgust, "Ew, no thank you, not that Dota 2 guy."
"Whatever you say, let me just tell him that I'm coming over." I say, sending Rob a text along these lines, 'Yo, we're coming over now, get your butt ready.'
I wait patiently, and sure enough, he responds, 'Don't keep me waiting.' I smile and put my phone away and look at Lily, "Alright, let us go."
"I'll go call a taxi! And this time, I have money." Lily says, waving a Canadian bill in front of my face. I chuckle and follow her out of the hotel room, taking the room's card with me and stuffed it in Lily's purse. We walk down the hallway once more, the ceiling lights illuminating the long hallway, making it's way down the stairs and into the lobby, where we were now. Like little kids, we ran out of the hotel, pushing the doors open and yelling randomly for taxi's. We laughed, until a taxi parked itself in front of us, and we entered it.
I gave the taxi driver the directions, and then we were off. I sit back on my seat, looking out of the window, pressing my cheek against it. It was cold, I guess it was from the wind blowing against it from the outside. Normally, I would sometimes have a few things to do back in Los Angeles, especially since it was mostly warm there, but here in Canada, the weather brought a cold, nostalgic feel, as if I could cuddle up in my sweater all day. For a moment, I forgot that I even moved from Canada. Suddenly, my phone was buzzing, and I looked at it, thinking it was from Rob. But I was wrong. I was receiving a phone call from Jeannette.
I answer, "Hello?"
"Remmi? Hello, it's good to hear you again, anyway, I just wanted to call to tell you that the festival, the Winter Festival, is coming soon." Jeannette says stiffly. Even though she wasn't with me, I was still nervous.
"Oh, yes, of course." I say quietly, remembering why I came here in the first place.
"How is everything over there? Are Lily and you alright?" Jeannette asks, yet I could not hear concern in her voice.
"We're fine, don't worry. We got our hotel room and we're ok." I answer sincerely.
"Good, and remember, once the festival begins, I want you two there taking pictures, ok?" She says impatiently.
"Ok, we will, don't worry." I answer quietly.
"Alright, I'll call you some other time to see how you guys are doing, I'm fairly busy right now. Take care!" She says, and she hangs up, and I slowly put my phone in my pocket again.
"I know, I forgot why I was here as well." Lily says, sighing.
"Pardon?" I ask, looking at her and raising an eyebrow.
"I mean, we were too focused on our own little things, that we totally forgot that we were only here to take pictures." Lily explains, frowning.
"Oh, I guess so. . ." I say, looking out of the window.
We were both silent for a short while, and suddenly, the car stopped. I looked out and saw a neighborhood, with regular houses. My breath stopped once I realized something. This was my old neighborhood. I open the door and Lily pays the man, who thanks her, and he leaves once she steps out of the car. I look at the address on my phone, and sure enough, I had found the house. A simple house, so to say, with delicate features to it. (A/N: I can not give a good detailed explanation because I have no idea what his house looks like T^T)
"Let me go knock on the door." Lily says, getting up on the rocky steps and ringing the doorbell.
Sure enough, Mat answers the door, "Yo? OH! STRANGER DANGER!"
I roll my eyes, "It's just us, Mat."
"I know," He says, grinning. "Come on in."
Lily and I enter the house, and we do see some people, which made me walk a bit slower than most times. The people look at us and smile, and I manage to find Rob, who smiled and walked up to us.
"Hey, you guys came! Alright, I want you guys to meet Remmi and Lily, they are two friends of mine." Rob says, introducing us to the people, who were men. I frowned at the word 'friends' in Rob's introduction.
I smile and give a slight wave.
"Hello, can I have an introduction from you guys as well? I mean, I don't know you, so. . ." Lily says, putting her hands on her hips.
One of the guys chuckled, he sure was good looking, but not enough to captivate me, "I'm Mitch, a friend of Rob's."
"I am Purston, or just Preston." Another one of them says, laughing goofily, making me let out a small chuckle.
"And I am Lachlan, we all came to hang out here in Canada, I just thought I should let you know." Another guy says, smiling. All of the men here were slightly attractive, but I could not seem to blush or flirt with them, I just met them for christ's sake.
"Well, you met the gang." Mat says, laughing. Lily shakes everyone's hands, while I stand there awkwardly.
"Come on, they aren't going to bite." Rob says, looking at me. I smile shyly and shake everyone's hand.
"So yo! Why'd you invite us here?" Lily asks, sitting against one of Rob's sofas.
"Actually, we told him. Rob was talking about you two, and we were all curious." Mitch explains, eating a piece of pizza on his hand.
"Oh, he was?" I ask, blushing a bit. I never expected Rob to talk about us.
"Yeah, he was." Lachlan says, drinking a cup of what looked like water. His accent caught my attention.
"Um, Lachlan, are you Australian or British?" I ask.
"Oh, yeah, I'm Australian." Lachlan replies, smiling.
"Give me some pizza, I'm hungry and I didn't eat yet." Lily complains, taking a piece of pizza and eating it fast.
"Dude, you do know the pizza is cold, right?" Preston says, raising an eyebrow at Lily.
"I know good sir, I know." Lily says poshly, eating the pizza continuously.
Mat laughs, "Haha, you have Mitch's appetite, Lily."
"Well whoever this man is, he sounds awesome." Lily says with her mouthful.
"I know I am." Mitch says, laughing.
"Ew, close your mouth please." I say, wrinkling my nose.
She gulps down the food, "Whoops, sorry."
"Anyway," I begin, sitting on one of Rob's couches as well, looking down at my shoes, "We should do something interesting."
"Dang, I was going to play Minecraft with the guys." Rob says, biting his lip as if he had just shouted a curse word in front of a crowd of Kindergarteners.
"No, it's fine, you guys go do your own thing." I say, a soft smile appearing on my lips, "And besides, I think it'll be fun to watch."
"Wait! I have a suggestion." Preston bursts, catching everyone's attention, "What if we make these ladies their own minecraft account?"
"Oh!" I say, my eyes widening, "You don't have to waste your money on us, it's not necessary."
"Nonsense," Lachlan says, grinning, "It'll be interesting as well."
I look over at Lily, and she had a large grin on her face, "Really? I've always wanted to play Minecraft!"
"See? Even your friend is excited." Mitch says, crossing his arms.
"The name's Lily." Lily protests, sticking out her tongue.
"And I'm Mitch." Mitch retorts, sticking his tongue out towards Lily.
"You guys are so immature." Mat says, laughing.
Lily lets out a chuckle of amusement, "Look who's talking!"
I smile slightly, and see Rob turning on his PC, his fingers hitting against his keyboard's keys. We all crowd around him, and I put my hands on his shoulders, looking at the screen. He had gone on the minecraft site, clicking on the orange 'Buy now' button. He typed in my information.
"Dude, how can you know everything about her?" Lachlan asks, looking over Rob's shoulder.
"Everything except her credit card number." Rob replies, winking.
I furrow my eyebrows, "I thought you were paying."
"I know, I am, I was just teasing." Rob says, smirking and looking at me, the username question showing, "So, what'll be your username?"
"Uh, I guess, Sweet_Landscape?" I say.
Mat tilts his head, "Sweet_Landscape?"
I nod, "Yep, and if you don't like it, then too bad."
"Alright, whatever you say." Rob says, typing the name with an underscore, which I accepted. He set it, and sure enough, it was bought. I had minecraft.
"My turn, move please." Lily says, moving Rob out of the way and typing really fast. I look over her shoulder, and I see her username, BrokenBlossom.
"Dude that sounds depressing." Mitch says, making me chuckle a bit. He was right, though.
"SH! Do not question me." Lily says sternly, and sure enough, she entered the account and it was done right away. I laugh and look outside, it was still morning, but the whole event made it seem like an hour.
I sigh and look at everyone, "I'm going to take a breath of fresh air, I'll be right back."
"What? I thought we were going to play Minecraft?" Preston asks, looking at me with confusion.
"I know, we are, but this place smells too much like Pizza." I say, sticking out my tongue and turning around, heading towards the door. I open it, and close it behind me, heading out onto the street. Oh my old neighborhood, how much I loved it, yet I hated it at the same time. I sigh and walk along the sidewalk, looking at the old houses where my old friends and neighbors lived. At least, I don't even know if they still live there. I slowly walk along, not paying any attention, until I bump into someone.
"Oh my gosh! I am so sorry, I should have watched where I should have been going!" I say in a rush.
"It's alright-, wait, Remmi?"
I look at the person, and my eyes widen, with sudden recognizing words escaping my lips,
"Oh. My. Jeanette."
