Stories Ranked

Okay, here it is: my official ranking of all 6 of my FNAF stories! I'm sure you all have your own thoughts and opinions and order of least favorite to favorite, and that's fine! Don't feel like you have to like or dislike certain books you previously didn't like or dislike simply because the author has a different opinion. I'm in no way trying to get someone to change their mind. All I'm doing is telling you my own opinions. Alright, let's go!

6. FNAF: Living Nightmares

Yeah, this one should be obvious, thanks to the Fun Facts section. I already explained why I feel this way and why this one is where it is, so I'll just leave it at that. I will say, though, that I'm still in love with any and all moments with Plushtrap! He's probably my favorite character in the whole series!

Huh. Ironic. My favorite character is in my least favorite story.

5. The Golden Freddy

What? The only book in the series that's the most original is this low on the list? Well, yes. Yes it is.

The reason it's this low on the list is because after going back over it recently, I just am not in love with it that much anymore. Sure, it had its amazing moments, notably the plot twist of the restaurant's secret, but I just feel like it doesn't hold up anymore.

Don't get me wrong, though. I don't hate it by any means. I just don't love it as much as I used to.

4. FNAF: Fazbear Fright

This one is definitely a good one that I feel still holds up well nearly 2 years later. Being the first sequel in the time line since The Golden Freddy, which had been written around 6 or so months prior, it was a nice, refreshing change of pace for me. My only real complaints are the nights themselves (a problem I've been having since Grand Reopening) and my overuse of references to previous titles. Yes, they are nice, but I personally just feel like I went overboard on them. I don't know. Maybe I'm just overthinking things. All in all, definitely a good one that I still love!

3. FNAF: Sister Location

Now, there are two reasons why this one is where it is.

First of all, it's still very new, so it's still possible for my opinion of it to change over time, like with The Golden Freddy.

Second, while I'm very proud of myself for how I worked this game's story and lore, I just don't see it as the 'best' of them all (despite me thinking Sister Location is the best game in the series). This is most likely because while, yes, I added my own creative twists, the Number 2 and 1 spots did a better job at adapting and recreating the game's lore, not just gameplay.

Still, compared to Living Nightmares, I'm very proud of myself with this newest addition. I don't see it being the last, though, but as of now, I think we've got a good direction!

2. Five Nights at Freddy's

Yep. The first one and arguably the best in the series among the fans is my personal #2 spot.

Now, this was a tough call, but after some thought, I decided that this one should be Number 2 because, well, Number 1 should be Number 1. Why? Well, more on that when I get there.

I'm still insanely proud of myself every time I reread this story. What's more impressive is that this is the one with the least amount of thought put into it. I didn't start writing this one because people begged me to or I was trying to be famous. I was simply thinking about what a Five Nights at Freddy's movie could look like and I went from there. Keep in mind that all we had at the time was the original Five Nights, so that certainly made things complicated in the long run with every sequel. Still, for a story with not as much thought and effort as later entries, It'll forever hold a spot in my heart, as I'm sure it will for all of you!

1. FNAF: Grand Reopening

I'm sure you could've figured this out by process of elimination, but here we are!

So, why is this one my favorite? Simple. I feel like it's not only good as a story, but it's good as a sequel. Without even really realizing it until recently, I did what I believe every good sequel/prequel should do: keep what was good in the original, remove what was bad in the original, and add something fresh and new (heck, that's why I think Portal 2 is the best video game sequel of all time; they were perfect in doing all three)!

I still smile every time I read this one, whether it be a serious moment like Jeremy and Courtney at the hospital, or a hilarious moment like BB's demise. Overall, this is the one story in the series that never fails to entertain me.

So there you have it! Those are my 6 FNAF stories ranked from least favorite to favorite! Whether or not you agree with my choice, I just expect you all to respect my opinion. And please please PLEASE don't feel like you have to change your own personal list of favorites because of me. Part of what makes the world so amazing is everyone's differences in opinions. As long as we respect those opinions, then the world can be a better place.

...man. I did not mean for a simple list to end so deep.
