Serious Talk

First of all, what an April Fool's Day prank!

Second, let's talk about something really important for this series.

A lot of you told me that the description of "FNAF: The Finale" sounded like a good and real description for an interesting story. And you know what? You're not wrong. Ever since I finished this story (Sister Location), I had plans to make a final, 100% original story to wrap this series up if we didn't get another game. But then again...

After some thought, I realized that when it comes to adapting the gameplay of these games, it's just not fun anymore. Ever since Fazbear Fright, adapting the gameplay is so tedious and boring to the point where when I reread my stories, I skip the nights entirely, only reading the beginning and end of the night. Even Sister Location had this issue, since it all felt so linear that it became predictable if you've played the game. And I believe part of what made my first story so great was the simple gameplay that could be unpredictable and random. All games after that were either too complex or too repetitious.

So what does this mean for this book series? Well, we haven't had any announcements for a new FNaF game, only a new book this summer and a movie in the future. And honestly, I think Scott will be so busy helping with the movie that he won't have time for a new game any time soon. So, if we get a new game, it won't be for a long time, most likely after the release of the FNaF movie, whenever that may be.

I think you may all get where I'm going with this. Either way, I planned for another book in this series, depending on the status of another game. If there were no more games, I'd end the series with one final book. And since we most likely won't be getting any games any time soon...

Well, consider this my official announcement that I'm in the process of making a brand new, 100% original, mega-crossover-style final story in my Five Nights at Freddy's book series!

Now, before you get too excited, hear me out real quick. Don't expect the first part out any time soon. Because this is my final story in this series, I want it to be the best I can make it. Believe me, nothing makes me angrier than the final part of a series having a crappy, not-so-satisfying ending with hints of a cliffhanger/continuation despite it being the final part.

I'm looking at you, Dexter.

What I'm getting at is that this story will be taken very seriously, more seriously than any of the other 6 stories in the series. I need no loose ends, no plot holes, no continuity errors, and everyone's story to be wrapped up, with no hints at a cliffhanger. While accidentally ending on a cliffhanger is ultimately what spawned "The Golden Freddy", as well as this finale, itself, I can't afford to do this with this story. I need everyone to fully be aware that this is truly the end.

I know a lot of you are going to upset to hear that this series will end officially, but honestly, all things must come to an end. And let's be real: FNaF isn't as big as it used to be. And this book series isn't as big as it used to be.

Don't get me wrong. I'm grateful that people are still reading these books, but if you look at the views, each new book gets less and less of them. I try not to take these views too seriously and I don't take them into consideration when I write, but I just think I should quit while I'm ahead. Besides, I'm too reliant on this series. By hammering the final nail in the coffin, I can officially move forward to other things, such as "PvZ: It's About Time" and "School vs. Zombies", two books in a series I really want to continue.

So, in summary, the final book in my FNaF series will be coming soon, and I plan to take it as seriously as possible so it can have the best possible outcome. This series was and always will be my magnum opus, so I want to end it with as much respect as an author can give.

That's about it. Thank you all for reading, and let me know what you think. Are you excited for this finale, or do you think I'm making a mistake? Either way, have a great day/evening, and I'll catch you all later!

-Cole
