Chaos filled the cabin. My head hurt as bickers started around me. A mess of suspicion arose, voices growing louder until-

"Everyone, stop!" I yelled. Everyone turned to look at me. I cleared my throat. "We only have nine hours to escape this ship, or else it goes down with all of us on it. The first thing we need to do is make code names. Zero might not know who we are, and we don't want him to know. The safest thing right now is to disguise all of our identities."

"How do we know that you aren't Zero?" the girl with the black hair asked.

"You don't, but how would making code names make anything worse?" I asked. She nodded.

"I guess I'll start," said the man with the mustache. "I'll be Win, since my bracelet is 1 and only one person can win."

The boy with the messy hair went next."I'll be Duo, since it takes two to make a duo."

Next was the boy with the red hair. "I'll be Bronze, since third place always gets a bronze medal."

Then the quiet boy with blonde hair. "I'll be Year, since there are four seasons in a year."

I went next.  "I'll be Star. A star has five points."

Next went the little girl. "I'll be Pea. Since most pods have 6 peas in them. I learned that from my big sister!" She smiled a toothy grin that melted my heart.

"I'll be Lucky," said the teen with the weird fashion style. "Seven is a lucky number, and hopefully I'll be lucky enough to make it out."

"I'll be Spider," said the black haired girl. "The common spider has eight legs."

Last was the dark skinned matronly woman. "I guess I'll be Nueve," she said. "Nueve is nine in Spanish."

After a little of getting used to our names, we started to decide who wants to go through which door. There were nine of us, which meant that we could go in groups of 4 and 5. "I want to go with Duo," said Lucky. "We both forgot our memories, but I feel like I can... trust him. I don't know why, I just do."

"I want to go with Nueve!" cried Pea, hugging onto Nueve. The woman smiled and held Pea tightly.

"No objections here," said Nueve.

"That's one group with a digital root of 9, and one with a root of 6," I said. "We need to get to 4 and 5."

"If Star and I go with the group of 9," suggested Spider,"We can make 4. And the remainder would be able to make 5." I added the groups in my head.

2+5+7+8=22

2+2=4

1+3+4+6+9=23

2+3=5

"That works," I said. "Let's go!" Duo, Lucky, Spider and I ran for the number 4 door, while Win, Bronze, Year, Pea, and Nueve ran for the number 5 door.

"We'll go through first," said Lucky. "We need to make sure it's safe for a group with two adults and a child." I nodded. We scanned our bracelets on the RED. The little asterisk appeared, and I pulled the lever. With a click, the door opened. We all ran through. As said, nine seconds after opening, the door slammed shut behind us. Our bracelets began to beep.

"Where's the dead?" panicked Lucky. The room was a giant hallway, with at least 10 doors on each side.

"Everyone, check 5 rooms," I said. The group nodded and we all ran off. I tried 5 doors. One was unlocked, but no scanner in sight.

"Over here!" Spider yelled. I turned towards her. She was standing by a device that looked like a gray version of the RED. I sprinted towards her, and so did everyone else. We slammed our hands onto the scanner. First Spider, than Lucky, than Duo, than me. Spider grabbed the lever and pulled it down. The beeping on the bracelets stopped. I sighed with relief and sank to the floor.

"Hey! How's it over there?" yelled Win.

Duo walked back to the door and shouted over. "The DEAD was at the end of our hallway. We found it fine. I think you guys will be good!" I heard the number 5 door slam shut. The other group had entered their door.

"How are we going to move on?" Lucky asked. "All the doors I checked were locked." Both other members of my group nodded.

"I found one that was unlocked," I said. "Let's see if there's a way to get out." They nodded and followed me in.
