Chapter three: Eyes up on the wall
It took what felt like forever, but the pizza is finally cooked. My eyes lit up with flavor.
"Woah, man, Chica! This is amazing!" She smiled at me.
"I've had a lot of practice!" She beamed. She then took some chicken pizza toppings out of the fridge and held it an arms length away from her. I gave her a questioning look. "Freddy and Foxy usually eat the chicken toppings that I dare not touch. I'll bring it to them tonight as I don't think Foxy is gonna leave the Cove..." she exits the room leaving me with Goldie.
"What's happened with Foxy?" The bear asked.
"I uh... kinda... he sorta... he scared me ok? I got scared of him and he ran away, alright??" Goldie frowns at me.
"He's been left behind that curtain to collect dust for years and the first child that sees him is afraid. Think about that." Then the golden bear faded away. Hu, he didn't even finish his pizza slice.
"He loves to be dramatic. Come on, you need to see Foxy. No one else can get him to leave the Cove, he sure is a stubborn fox!" Chica was leaning on the doorway with her arms folded. I really have to go back??
I returned to the purple curtains and begged the pirate's forgiveness.
"Foxy...? Foxy...? I'm sor-" my heart skipped a beat. I didn't see him coming, the curtains whipped the air as the fox pounced on me. This wasn't a threatening gesture however, it was a hug. His fur is matted and unkempt, not to mention torn. He was gentle not to dig his hook into my skin, yet he was giving me an accidental death hug. "...Foxy... air..." I gasped. He immediately let go with the reaction speed of a cat. Before I knew it, he was behind the curtain again. Back to square one.
My head... Foxy gave me a hat of some sort! He must have an old costume box full of stuff the younger members of the audience would wear. It was a red bandana with a picture of Freddy and Foxy on it.
"Phew, I thought he was about to kill you!" Bonnie stared. Something flew through the curtains and hit Bonnie on the back of the head. It was a crumpled up piece of paper and Bonnie dismisses it as uninteresting. I however, am quite curious. I carefully unfold it, making sure it's not torn and find a drawing of a cat. Man, this guy is good at drawing! -wait, cats? Why cats? I giggled.
I walk with Bonnie to the stage where he checks his guitar is in tune. Apparently he does this every night to pass the time. It surely was so we go to help Freddy arrange the chairs and replace the damaged party hats. Once finished, Freddy called over Chica and Bonnie.
"Bonnie, backstage. Chica, kitchen." They both nodded and went their separate ways. What were they doing? I followed Bonnie backstage and he was stareing at the security camera with dark soulless eyes.
