I grab my purse and phone as I walk towards the main door. I didn't even have my breakfast because I'm already too late. Being a waitress is not easy. I switch off the lights and the opens the door. I freeze when I notice a basket on my porch.
Not just a basket but a basket with a small puppy in it. A bouquet is kept along and a cluster of pink and white balloons. I bent and pick the balloon and flowers. I see a note on the flowers. I open the note. It was typed.
A white puppy and flowers will help to heal heartbreak. Balloons are just a bonus.
Tristian.
You got to be kidding me. How dare he? I carry the basket, flowers and balloons inside. I immediately dial his number.
"Hey Love," he says and I roll my eyes.
"What in the bloody hell are you up to with these puppy and flowers?" I snap at him.
"It's a gift."
"I'm gonna throw them out. I don't like dogs. I never had a puppy." Why am I telling him all this?
"As I said it's a gift, you can do anything you want with them. By the way, I didn't same the puppy. You can choose the name. Have a nice day, Love." He hangs up.
What am I going to do with this. I throw the flowers and then starts bursting all the balloons. A smile appears on my face when I'm done. My eyes turns towards the puppy who is staring at me. "What am I gonna do with you? I can't throw you. You're so adorable," I mutter as I slowly grab in my arms.
"You're not gonna get much food from here. I barely get food for myself so you have to adjust," I say and the puppy just stares at me. I place the puppy back in the basket. My eyes wander towards the clock.
Dammit, I'm late.
"It's high time you stop your tardiness. I can't always save your ass," Celia, the head waitress scolds as I'm very late for work.
"I'm sorry," I mutter.
"You better not repeat this," she warns and I nod my head. "Go and take the orders table 16." I nod once again before walking away to take the orders.
It's gonna be one hell of a day.
I take the orders and send them to the kitchen. I see Troy walking towards me wearing his red t-shirt and jeans. I sigh and gets back to work. "We need to talk," he says and I glare at him.
"Later," I mutter before walking away from him. I'm not in the mood for an argument.
"Mia, we have some special guests. Go and get their orders," Clara says and I nod my head. Clara is also a waitress like me
I walk towards the VIP area and moves towards table 6. I still when I recognize the people who're sitting around the table. It's Tristian and a young woman with him. Thank God, he is back to sense and behind some other woman.
Seriously? He's so handsome.
No, he's not.
Really?
Okay, may be he is handsome but I'm that he's with another woman. Just one day of acquaintance with them and that exhausted me.
I take my steps towards them. "Good morning. I'm Mia, your waitress for the day. What can I get you both?" I say politely and the lady smiles at me.
"Love," Tristian mutters getting up from the chair and then pulling for a hug. The lady stands too being confused. "You smell like orange," he mutters and I groan in frustration.
Are you by chance made of orange?
Shut up.
He slowly pulls away and I feel all eyes on me. Celia is staring at me with wide eyes. Is he planning to throw me out of my job?
"What did you do with the gifts?" he asks and it takes few seconds for me realize what exactly is he talking about.
"I threw the flower, burst the balloons and abandoned the puppy in my house," I mutter glaring at him. He better not create a scene here.
"I knew you would not throw the puppy out. Did you find a name? It's a boy," he asks and I blink at him.
"What're you doing? Your date is standing beside, you're insulting her." He raises his eyebrows at me, his lips turning into a smirk.
He turns towards the woman. "Victoria, meet Love. Love, this is Victoria, my secretary," he introduces and my eyes widens. So it's not a date.
It means that he's still behind you.
"My name is Mia," I correct and he smirks again. He holds my hand and pushes me down to sit on the chair.
"Tori, we need some privacy," he says. Victoria gets up and smiles at me before walking away to another table.
"What the hell are you doing? I need to work. You can't force me to sit here, I'll loose my job," I say and he smirks again.
Ahhhhh, wipe that smirk off his face. He's annoying me.
"Celia," he calls out louder. I stare at him in shock. Celia immediately appears out of nowhere and smiles at Tristian. Two years of working here and I'd never seen her smile. What magic is he doing on people?
"Do you have any problem in Mia sitting with me? Then I think I'll talk to Troy." Celia immediately shakes her head.
"No, it's fine. Let her sit here with you. We don't have any problem. Enjoy you both. I'll send somebody to take your order," she replies and walking away.
"Problem solved," he mutters. I glare at him. "Thank God, he's here," he says and I turn my head slightly to see Terry and Troy walking towards us.
Jesus, now I'm stuck with three brothers. Are they planning to kill me and bury?
Don't overreact. They're not gonna kill you.
They both settle down on the chairs and I shift in my chair uncomfortably. This is getting awkward.
"We both need to talk alone," Troy says and I understood that he meant me and him.
"I'm not leaving. I want to make sure that you're not messing it up because I'll punch you if you hurt her," Tristian says with a scowl and a smile tugs at the corner of my lips. He's making it difficult to be angry at him.
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry for everything. I shouldn't have hide it from you but Tessa didn't want anyone to know our relationship. It was a secret from the beginning and when we decided make it official, it was already too late for you. I should at least told you that I didn't such feelings for you. I know I'm an asshole but forgive me because I'm your friend, please." I stare at Troy's face which is red in color, his eyes pale and I can see slight wetness in them.
"I forgave you Troy but I need time to accept things. I can't sit at a place and cry because I need to work to feed myself. I know I made mistakes, I shouldn't have assumed things. Anyway it's not easy to forget things but I can assure you I'm over it. I just need some time. So please don't expect me to behave casually after what you did." I try to keep my voice down and thankfully I'm successful in that.
I take a sharp inbreathe when I feel a hand on my bare knee, just below my uniform skirt. I feel uneasiness in my stomach immediately. I look at my lap and realizes it's Tristian's hand. He's drawing circles on my knees, the same way he did yesterday at his house. I feel something jump in my stomach.
Oh my God! It's definitely butterflies dancing in your stomach.
Shut up.
"Now it's time we both talk," Tristian says pulling me to my feet. "Go and change," he orders making me glare at him.
"I'm not going with you anywhere," I reply. I'm not ready to obey him. Why should I do that? "I have a job here and I should get back to it."
"I'm your boss and I'm giving you the day off. Go with him. You really need a change," Troy says and Terry who was silent till now nods his head furiously.
Jesus, these brothers are together in everything. What're they scheming against me?
I walk out of the lockers once I change into my regular clothes. I gasp when I see Tristian standing in front of me. "Let's go," he mutters, grabbing my hand and pulling me towards the garage.
He should stop dragging me around, I'm not a toy of his. I pull myhand away from him. "What do you think you're doing? I don't wanna talk to you're. You're just irritating me. I'm not interested in you, just get this into your thick head," I shout at the top of my voice.
He blue eyes meet mine and I feel myself melting. What is happening to me? "You're beautiful when you're angry," he says and I blink at him. I feel my cheeks getting hot. I bite my lips, hard.
He leans in and kisses the hell out of me. I still for a second but immediately I melt against him and kiss him back. He tongue thrust against mine and I moan. He pulls away and I stare at his beautiful orbs. "Tristian." His name slips out of my mouth and he smiles.
He smiles so brightly that I feel like staring at the sun. He looks gorgeous with that beautiful smile of his. I couldn't help but stare at him without blinking. This face is not new to me, I'm seeing this face since two years. Troy has same face of Tristian but it's different.
Everything about Tristian is different from Troy. His expression, smile, the way his eyebrows draw together. Everything is different. The similarity is there but the difference overtakes them.
"I told you that next time when we kiss, it's my name that'll come out of your mouth. I won so one more kiss as bonus," he says and kisses me again.
I have to push him away. I can't let him kiss me like this but I don't push him. I kiss him back, slowly tasting him. This is insane, I can't believe I'm doing this but I still do it.
He's working his magic on you. You better not fall for it.
