Dear diary,

I asked Nick if it was okay if I didn't come over Wednesday. He said yes like it was nothing, like I hadn't worried about it all night.

I'm not really anything to him but a title, so what does it matter? That's all he is to me, even though I try to make myself think otherwise. I don't need him.

When I told my friends that I'd go to the gallery with them, they were so happy. I guess I make them happy how they make me happy. Is that how friends are supposed to work?

Just kidding. I know how they're supposed to work. I'm just used to the cheerleaders, so you know. They aren't very nice.

I take that back. They are nice. I'm trying to make them evil in my head so that I don't think about them.

Different people from cheerleaders make me happy. Art nerds make me happy. That's okay, I think. What would I do if Nick started hanging out with art nerds? Laugh and think he was kidding, but if he was serious, I don't think I would mind.

I like to think that I wouldn't mind it.
