Chapter 2: Sunrise, sunset

Fly away to your home

Among your dreams of gold

With your loved one safely

Supported by your hold.

Adwin pizzled over this mystery. He hadn't found Alora anywhere. He had no idea where she worked. Sighing, he went up the hill to paint the sunset.

She's there.

Sitting and watching the sunset, her hair gently blew out to the side. Adwin's eyes widened.

She's like a sunrise next to a sunset.

He began to paint the sunset with her silhouette, carefully adding all the details.

I wonder what she's thinking of.

She was gazing into the sunset, a smile gently resting on her lips. Adwin finished his painting after a little bit of careful painting. He smiled at the painting, then walked up next to her.

"Hey."

Alora looked up. "Hi."

"I never thought I'd find you here."

"I like sunsets. They remind me of my home town before I moved away."

Adwin nodded. "It's easy to get homesick sometimes."

"Yeah."

They sat in silence for a little bit. Then, Adwin thought of something.

"Why did you move here, anyway?"

Alora thought for a minute. "Well, there weren't enough people for me to meet. I couldn't find someone who I could understand, and nobody else could understand me, either. I moved to try to find someone who will love me for who I am, not for who I could be."

Adwin nodded. "That's kinda cool, actually. I hope you find what you're looking for."

"Thanks."

The sun had dissapeared behind the mountains. Thousands of stars whipered to each other, sparkling like the reflection of light upon the surface of the water. Adwin turned to Alora.

"Beautiful night tonight." He said.

She nodded. "Good for dreaming."

Adwin smiled. So she's a daydreamer.

"Do you have somewhere to stay?" He asked.

Alora shook her head. "I did, but the people were rude, so I'm staying in my car."

"Well, if you want, you can stay at my house with me. Just a warning, my little sister can be pretty crazy sometimes."

Alora smiled. "I like little kids, they're cute and like to daydream with me."

Adwin smiled. "Okay. Come with me."

He led Alora to his house. Then, opening the door, he yelled to his sister.

"Sis, I'm home!"

A girl who looked like she was about eight years old ran into the room. "Adwin!"

"Hey Adeline." Blue eyes, black hair, tan skin, green dress with blue shoes.

Adeline looked at Alora. "Who's that?"

"Oh, Adeline, this is Alora. Alora, this is Adeline." He turned to Adeline. "Alora will be staying here for a while until she can find somewhereto stay."

Adeline smiled. "Cool!"

Alora smiled. "Where will I stay?"

Adwin looked around. "We have two guest rooms or the couch in the living room."

Alora found the guest room. It had a soft blue carpet, blue walls, and a large window facing the lake.

"I like this room."

Adwin nodded. "Alright. Make yourself at home, I'll be in the living room to help Adeline with her homework."

Adeline bounced happily as Adwin broughther into the living room, chattering about how school went and how fun it was. Alora laid down on the bed, soon getting lost in her daydreams. Adwin checked on her later to see that she was asleep. Everyone was blissfully unaware of the danger that was the shadow in her window.
