Forgivness

Smoke. Smoke was everywhere.

Red. Red blaring lights.

Sirens. Sirens angrily screaming from afar.

White. The white was turning to gray and black.

Fire. The building was ablaze.

Screaming. Innocent people inside were screaming for help.

The man stood in an alley, a pack of matches hidden in his back pocket and a few empty jerry cans of gasoline in a dumpster behind him. His face was covered with a red bandana with a black skull pattern, hiding his emotionless and hollow smile.

Uncertainty. That what his men had felt. Sure, they've killed, but for revenge or self defense. But never would they have done what He did. He was his own kind of evil.

As the sirens got closer, the man hid his bandana in his pocket and swiftly threw on a lettermen jacket. He was now a regular civilian, like the others. Watching in horror as the hospital started to burn and crumble.

A few people came out, but it was only maybe five nurses and a couple doctors, supporting some patients.

But alas, those few were the only ones to leave. The rest in that four story building burned. All of them, gone.

The man had walked away. He went toward the oncoming sirens of firemen. He began to see the truck race down the street toward him. Out of his jacket pocket, he got his pistol. He aimed. With a loud bang, he shot the driver. The red truck suddenly swerved and crashed into a shop.

Destruction. So much death and destruction. Caused by one man.

A laughing man. A smiling man.

He was joyous. He only wished he could have done it himself. Oh how he loved being able to see the life fleeting from someone's eyes. He loved the feeling of a blade cutting into someone's flesh. Murder and killing was just so much fun to him.

Death. Oh how he loved to cause it.

Rallo. The evil Rallo. That's who he will always be.

Ollie shot up from his spot in bed. His breathing was fast and shallow, and tears streamed down his face. Those were painful memories to relive.

The raven pulled his knees to his chest and buried his soaked face in them. That's all he could do. Cry.

These were the moments Ollie was alone. When he remembered his passed actions, and realized he is almost powerless to stop them. Almost.

'If only I had decided to stop when they told me.'

His actions had always been small as Rallo. Small muggings, armed robberies, vengeful killings. But this. This was the action Ollie regrets the most.

He was alone. Fully able to stop himself. But yet he felt like he couldn't. When the knife is in his hand, and there's a person in front of him, he can't help his instinctual urges to stab them. Stab them until their lifeless eyes seem to even have pain show in them. Until the urges get satisfied.

'Rallo is a monster'

The firemen. The only people capable of ending his rampage and saving countless lives in that packed hospital. He killed them. Ollie deliberately killed them, causing the death of who knows how many others.

Then Ollie remembered the News report.

This was when he was in his last year of college. They had to stop classes to play this report.

The usual composed man in a neat suit was gone. It was a frail woman, maybe a sophomore, who had obviously been crying beforehand. Her hair was a mess and her makeup was runny. Not to mention her wrinkled pink T-shirt.

"Yesterday, a fire broke out at Winterbrook Hospital."

This caused all sorts of noises from his classmates. Ollie remembers how he had to cover his mouth to hid his wide grin. Everyone else was gasping and whispering fearfully. Not him.

"No firemen or police made it to the site until it was already all gone. The sprinklers couldn't stop it. It was deliberately set by none other than that evil Rallo."

'I'm a monster'

The girl broke into sobs. His classmates, even Ollie's professor, were also in tears. For the first time in his life, Ollie had felt bad. He looked up to this professor. He was always cool and collected, a never seemed to show strong emotion. Now, he was crying. The raven should have felt proud like he usually did after seeing devastation after his actions. But not when it hurt people close to him.

The girl on the news kept going. "It killed over 150 patients, and more than 60 doctors." She suddenly stood, the camera now focused on her shirt. It has white writing. "I fight for Madison" The girl read aloud. There was a little loop under those words. The ever known symbol for cancer.

"My mother was in there. My father and brother were visiting. All of them are gone now." The girl said, her voice shaking with anger. "So many innocents died in this event. The monster will pay for what he did."

The professor shut off the television. Everyone was already whispering and crying together. Ollie felt guilty. He listened to some of he conversations, but they were too hushed. He only heard whispers. Whispers invading his mind and slowly eating his insanity.

That's when one caught his interest.

"...I feel so bad for Alicia..."

Alicia.

'I'm a monster'

That's who the sophomore doing the report was. Alicia Fletcher. A girl he had taken interest in. He couldn't recognize the happy girl under all her teas and stained makeup.

'I'm a monster'

She was a girl who had just gotten her entire family murdered by him.

'I'm a monster'

A broken girl who was always so bubbly and upbeat.

"The monster will pay for what he did."

A girl he loved.

"Honey?"

The raven's dark blue eyes, still overflowing with tears, glanced to his side.

"Monster"

His wife, obviously worried, was looking back at Ollie from her propped up spot beside him. Alicia looked so different, yet so similar to the broken girl 5 years ago.

Ollie's sobs only got louder once he locked onto those sorrowful green eyes. He had done awful things to her. Terrible things that she would never be able to forget.

"Oll... Hon, it's okay..." her soft and tired whisper wrapped around him.

"N-no, it's isn't." Ollie breathed through his tears. It wasn't. He was now the broken one.

Alicia held his hand, twining their fingers together. She gave her husband a comforting squeeze.

"Monster"

The raven tears only worsened. He latched onto his wife tight. He didn't want to let go. He didn't want to hurt her again.

"I'm sorry... I'm sorry... I'm sorry..." The words tumbled from his mouth, and seemed to be the only thing he can think of. The only thing he could say.

"It's okay darling. It's okay." She whispered soothingly, rubbing his back with gentle circular motions.

"I forgive you, Oliver."
