"Natalie told me your date went well."

The brunette girl who had been previously writing down transfiguration notes on a piece or parchment looked up started towards the voice. She let out a small smile directed at him and Sirius could feel himself be knocked out of breath as he intensely watched her.

       Regaining his composure he offered her a smile back and sat down on the chair in front of her. Joy fixed a couple of the papers that were sprawled on the table while she let out a small giggle before responding.

       "Yes, it was." Joy replied gleefully before continuing. "He didn't seem to mind how much of an idiot I made of myself during the date."

"You're not an idiot and he better have not been nothing less of a gentleman, someone like you deserves nothing less than so." He seemed to speak without realizing that he was doing so, yet his words made Joy widen her eyes — he paid no mind to this.

"Oh well... Thank you, Sirius. You are very kind."

            "I'm only saying the truth, Bumbleebee." His intense gaze was enough to cause a warm feeling to erupt in Joy's chest. Uncomfortable with this new feeling, she shifted the topic.

          "How have you been Sirius? We haven't had a proper conversation in a while." She asked falling into a comfortable state as he smiled before engaging in a deep conversation about James' failed attempt to ask Lily out again.

       "You should've seen his face. Poor Evans was completely embarrassed in the middle of Minnie's class." Sirius belt out a laugh, Joy laughing alongside him.

           "I bet five galleons those two will end up together before Natalie and Ana realize their feelings for one another." Joy smirked at Sirius, a new habit she had inherited from the boy in front of her.

"I'll take you up on that offer, though I feel as if your best friends wouldn't be very happy at the poor fate you have in them." Sirius mirrored her expression mischievously.

       "They'll be happy when I tell them I earned five galleons." She retorted back making him nod in acknowledgment.

"I would like to add something extra to my bet." He suddenly said making Joy frown confused. She was about to question him when he placed his finger over her lips shushing her. The action taking them both by surprise, Sirius quickly brushed it off. "It's a secret. Just trust me Bumblebee." He told her as she nodded slowly. He took his finger away from her lips leaving them parted.

Sirius staring at them as she was oblivious to this, her mind pushing away the warmth that appeared again in her chest. He cleared his throat and stood up abruptly leaving Joy behind alone at the table. She confusedly stared at his figure exiting the library.

       A warmth in her chest and a pit in her stomach was the only trace Sirius Black left of his presence that day.
