1.) Move
Volga set the last box down on his new office floor. He actually was happy about the move. He and Lana have been putting it off for awhile now to wait for Elena to be born and now it was a perfect time. No challenges, time with family, and of course no work for awhile. Lana would be home with the kids and her husband which is even better than before. They were usually busy but a move into a new home had to give them both time, even with younger children, one under a month old and a soon to be four year old. Volga has started moving everything from the old house not long ago and announced that this night was their last night in it.
Lana laid in bed with her son, sleeping already. Being a mother was tiring, making sure Elena was fed when Volga was moving things all day. The last few boxes they had were in the living room. She felt her son kick her in the face as he was sprawled on his father's pillows. She had her bags backed along with Tyler's and Elena's. Plus side was that the nursery was closer to the master bedroom and there were extra guest rooms if Volga had any meetings or family visiting. She opened an eye and saw her son, whimpering as she held him close. Volga was at the new house with Elena and his lava serpent dragon to get them used to the new area. Tyler wanted to go with him, but Volga only saying Lana needed her little guy home. She has been resting from her task as Guardian of Time, her family knowing how much a deal it really was.
"Mama," her son whispered as he opened his eyes. He resembled his father but had his mother's characteristics and her eyes. She kissed his forehead and held him close.
"What's wrong honey?"
"When is dad coming back?" he ask, sitting up. Lana sighed as she sat up with him. Her husband would be sleeping alone with the crib in the master bedroom for him to watch Elena until he is sure of her being able to sleep in the nursery.
"Daddy won't come back till the morning. He is with your sister in the new house-"
"Why aren't we there?"
She giggled and ruffled his hair. "Cause your baby sister needs to adjust to the surroundings. We moved when you were still in my stomach from your grandpa's house to this house. Sometimes, a move is always good."
"Are we still gonna be in Skyloft?" Tyler showed he didn't want to leave the sky. He enjoyed it in the clouds and when he went with Volga to the Gerudo Desert, playing with the Gerudo children.
"Yes, we have to because your father has something very important he needs to hold and protect from Ganondorf." The name ran shivers up her spine. Ganondorf, a cursed name to the Gerudo tribe and to her family. Volga has scars from him, emotional scars. Lana had Cia by her side when they were together in the Valley of Seers, doing their duty of watching time and keeping the balance of each era. It was a big responsibility for the duo and she is mostly stressed out of the two.
Tyler hugged her tightly at the mention of Ganondorf. He scarred Cia and Volga mentally and Volga a little physically from being a slave. "Mama, is he ever coming back?"
"Not until a new hero and princess is reborn." she whispered, hugging him back. He looked up at her as she rubbed his back. "Now get some sleep. We will be in the new house tomorrow."
He nodded and shut his eyes, falling back to sleep as Lana tried to sleep. The memories of the War came back to her. She hadn't thought about it in ages, it bothering her at times. She knew it bother Volga the most, him having PTSD. He always had it, and the War and Cia's actions made it worsen.
She manage to fall asleep and woke up to the sun shining on her face. Tyler was awake and out of the bedroom, her getting up and stretching. She started stripping the bed of the sheets and blankets along with the pillows and she noticed something behind it. Volga had Wizzro's ring for safe keeping for it not to fall into evil hands and enforcing Wizzro with more power. She grabbed the band and lifted it up, sighing. "Forgetful dragon," she mumbled as she put it around her neck. Volga prefers never wearing it around his finger, afraid that the poe could take his fire and the power from the Triforce without him realizing it. Lana got dressed and brushed her hair, getting the last of her things from the bathroom. She closed her eyes and closed the door to it, grabbing her bags and boxes.
A voice was heard downstairs, Volga coming home. He came to help finish move the boxes to their new house as he laughed. Lana watched her step down the stairs, setting the boxes on the ground as she hugged him. "Tyler was really worried about you," she told him as his hand held her head against his chest.
"He told me and about Ganondorf." he whispered. "I never want him to find out what the monster done to me. Ever." Volga closed his pale eyes and sighed, laying his chin on her ponytail. Volga had nightmares about it all last night, missing her. She usually made sure he never had the nightmares with certain spells and her embrace kept him safe. When he was away, he had no availability to her magic, making him have nightmares when they are separated for long periods of time.
Lana hugged him tightly, keeping him in her arms. Tyler gagged to get their attention. "Can we go now?" he ask.
The couple looked at one another and picked their son up. "Course we can go, sport." His father chuckled. He knew his son hates anything romantic which made it even funnier when Lana kissed Volga.
The three soon left with their belongings as Volga's wolf pup followed behind, catching up and running faster than his owners. The pup saw the lava serpent on the porch of the new home, Tyler chasing the two pets once he ran up the steps. Volga opened the doors, walking in as the foyer was covered in unopened boxes. Ghirahim appeared with Elena in his arms. "Thanks for coming last minute bud," Volga said as he took his daughter into his arms.
"Eh, you owe me you bastard." Ghirahim laughed as he teleport out in a array of diamonds. Elena cooed after he left, Volga smiling at his daughter. Lana set some of the boxes and their suitcases down on the floor as she took her daughter into her arms. The little girl giggled and reached her small arms out at her.
"I'm gonna go get everything unpacked. Go relax." Volga said, kissing his wife. "Go enjoy yourself, I have to set my office up." He felt Lana grab his sleeve and pull him back towards her.
"You've been doing so much for us Volga. Enjoy time with your children and I'll take care of everything." Lana retorted. "I didn't help you with moving the boxes in, but packing. Please let me be of help."
Volga snorted as smoke came from his mouth. "Alright, but tonight we are gonna relax." he teased as Tyler gagged again and ran off, dragging his boxes and bag with him, making his parents laugh. The child walked in the living room, noticing the white sofas and lounge chairs set up with a view of the upstairs able to be seen. Bookshelves lined the walls with boxes open and some books on the shelves, not all set on yet and some on the floor. Volga was working on the books until Elena gained his attention, it was obvious to Tyler. The new baby comes first before anything.
Tyler saw the TV wasn't put on the stand or plugged in, nothing hooked to it. He set his boxes on the coffee table, running around. The dog bed for the wolf pup was already put out near a set of sliding doors with the view of the backyard and the closed swimming pool. He walked through the doorway into the kitchen, seeing the island covered in boxes with Sharpie marker all over them. It was dishes, pots, pans and much more. Food was already in the fridge as he took out a juice box, putting the plastic straw through the hole of the carton, sipping it. Lana walked in and sighed.
"Volga! You didn't put dishes away?!" she yelled to the other room, hearing her husband yell back. Tyler giggled as his mother held Elena and moved boxes off the island and the new red stools, the little boy climbing on and sipping his drink. Lana cradled her daughter as she unpacked the dishes, setting them on the counters.
He turned in his chair as Volga walked in, taking the baby from his wife. "I'll be upstairs and unpacking Tyler's boxes if he doesn't get to them first." he said as Tyler jumped off his chair and ran out. Volga laughed and walked over to Lana, wrapping one arm around his wife's back and pulling her toward him. "Works like a charm."
"Course it would. Now shoo, let me unpack for you. If you want to make things go quicker, go unpack the rest of the boxes." she whispered. "And put Elena down for her nap."
"She already had it, it's feeding time." Volga handed her back and went to the foyer, opening the boxes and took out photos. He held them in his hands, seeing his wedding photo of Lana and him, his best man Ghirahim and Lana's bridesmaids Zelda and Fi beside her. He smiled and went to put it on the wall, taking the rest out. His first family photo of him, Lana and Tyler when he was just a newborn. It meant a lot to him, his family and friends. He put the pictures up on the beige walls, making sure they were all perfect. He looked up at the balcony and saw Tyler running, dragging his suitcase as Volga ran up the steps to help.
He carried the boxes for his son and entered a medium sized bedroom, a bed pushed against the far wall. "Well champ this is your room." he said and set the boxes down. A table was in the center of the room, chairs with the Cars movie on it with the matching table. He made sure his son had his furniture set up, the drawers pushed to the far wall and a toy chest at the front of the bed. All the toys were inside as Tyler opened it until Volga grabbed the back of his shirt. "Unpack and then you play. I'll get your clothes and make sure you have everything." he said and opened the suitcase, taking out the clothes his son brought. Opening the closet, he took hangers out and put each clothing article on each of the plastic colorful hanger.
Tyler watched as he unpacked, setting his stuff animals on the table. He sat down in a chair and watched his father, not bothering to finish unpacking the boxes. Volga turned and notice, sighing. "What? I did all I can," his son said with a Volga smile. The kid learns from the older hybrid.
"You are gonna help your mother with her boxes now." he said. "I'll finish up here."
Tyler nodded and hopped off the chair, going to help his mother out. Lana was finish with the cupboards as she went out to the foyer, grabbing a box that held her and her hubby's things for the bedroom. She went up the stairs and almost got ran down by her son. She dropped the whole box, making a loud crashing noise that woke Elena and made Volga run to the balcony.
"What happened?! Is everything okay?!" he called down to her, her sitting at the end of the step and rubbing her sore head. She groaned as he jumped over and landed on the ground, comforting her. "I'll get bandages and ice and-"
"Calm down hun," she told him. "I didn't fracture my skull." Lana was just teasing the worried hybrid. She sometimes hated seeing him in frantic mode. She stood up and took her box as Volga got down and picked everything up, setting the items back into the cardboard as he walked her upstairs, being right behind her on her heels to be exact.
When the whole family finished unpacking, they all sat down in the living room, Volga holding his baby daughter as Tyler was lounging on a couch. Lana was sitting with her husband as Zuko and Roku were playing with each other.
"You know Volga, you're pretty good father." Lana told him quietly, her head on his shoulder. Volga gave a half smile and kissed her head.
"I know..." he whispered and let her drift to sleep. First day done, now time to wait.
