Natalya sat alone at the food table. She didn't even know why she agreed to come to prom with Irunya and her friend circle when they were already having fun together and with their dates. Not only that, but she would also have to eventually face her ex boyfriend, who cheated on her with his current girlfriend. She sighed as she observed the room. Suddenly she felt a hand on her shoulder. It was Irunya, smiling down at her.

" What is it now, sister?" Natalya mumbled.

" There's going to be a slow dance very soon, why don't you go and try to talk to some boys?" Irunya suggested, now taking a seat next to her.

Natalya laughed loudly " Right? Like who? My ex? Bitch please."

Irunya sighed " Look, I know you're still hurt by what he did to you but-"

Natalya rolled her eyes " I am completely over that."

Irunya shrugged " If you say so."

Natalya narrowed her eyes " You don't believe me? Fine, I'll prove it."

Natalya got up and looked at all of the possible boys, she went through them mentally. Most were either taken or not appealing to her. She walked through the dance floor. She had to find a somewhat decent looking guy. That's when she bumped into someone. Well, she actually tripped and fell into them. When she got up, she recognized who it was. Lukas, the cutest boy she had seen. She remembered seeing him freshman year and having a total crush on him, but he only had one class with her for a semester and she never got to talk to him and then she never saw him again up until this point. She felt embarrassed, she completely froze. He stood up and smirked.

" Sorry, I guess I didn't see you there." He chuckled.

" Just-"

Before she could say anything more, the music changed, into of course, a slow song. That's when Lukas's nearby friend, who witnessed the whole thing, shouted " Dance with her!! It's faaaattee!!".

Lukas glared at him and sighed "I'm sorry, but I think if we don't dance, those losers over there won't leave us alone"

Natalya shrugged " Seems legit"

And so, they danced. They didn't talk much, but they didn't need to. Natalya felt a warm feeling in her chest. She hadn't really ever experienced it before, and she felt uncomfortable about it. He had an unreadable facial expression the entire time, however he seemed calm for the most part. As they danced they soon run into another couple, that couple happened to be her ex and another girl.

" Oh, sorry Alfred" Lukas apologizes casually.

" It's cool dude" Alfred laughs then sees Natalya " Oh... Nat.. I didn't know you had a date...."

Natalya took a step backward, and then just, took off. Lukas watched her go and then soon chased after her " Wait!"

However, it was too late, she was gone. However he did notice that she dropped her necklace, which she had been wearing for prom. He picked it up and put it in his pocket.

The next day, and many days after, he had desperately asked around to see if anyone knew who the necklace's owner was. Nobody seemed to know. After about two months, he gave up, assuming that whoever she was could have died or something. One May afternoon, he was on his way to a magic club meeting after school, it was the last one of the year so it would be pretty important that he didn't show up late. As he walked he heard some voices down the hall.

" Babe, I want you back, I really do..."

" Alfred, stop following me!"

" But babe..."

" Alfred..."

" Please..."

" I said no you asstown!"

And then, he heard a rather loud slap, and some faster foot steps. Soon, a young blonde girl approached him, she looked rather familiar, but it didn't quite click.

She leaned into him, grabbed him by his shirt collar, and whispered " I'm so sorry but you need to kiss me right now"

He blushed " What?! Why?"

" Just do it, I'll pay you money" She begged and looked back, as if expecting someone to walk over.

"... But-" Lukas started but was cut off by the young girl's lips pressing against his. He kissed back briefly.

Just in at the perfect time, Alfred walked over and sighed.

" So.. This is why then? You have a boyfriend..." Alfred muttered.

She pulled back and looked at Alfred " Yes, now leave us alone"

Lukas started to interject but she pinched his arm and he got the message.

" Alright then... I'm sorry Nat..." Alfred then began to walk off.

" Thanks..." She started but then proceeded to ask " Wait what's your name?" she knew who he was, but she figured that it would be nice to make an excuse for him to remember her.

"L-Lukas... Yours?" He asked, still in shock from the previous events.

" Natalya, it's nice meeting you." She half smiled at him.

That's when Lukas suddenly thought of prom again, and then proceeded to ask " wait.. were you at prom by any chance?"

She nodded " Yes. Why?"

He blushed, harder than the previous time "Well.. You dropped this.." He dug into his pocket and took out a silver necklace. He placed it on her gently.

Her eyes widened " Oh... Thank you.. Again..."

He smirked " Next time, don't run away" he whispered as he kissed her gently
