If you are gonna fight a war

Korosuakuma POV:

"You know I still don't like this idea." He said packing some stuff into his suitcase that I've never even seen. "I know, but this is how it has to be." I said catching his hand as he put another item into his suitcase.

He sighed, taking deep breaths. "I don't want to leave you here." He said caressing my cheek. I put my hand over his and gave him a sad smile. "I know, but this is our best option." I said turning to kiss his hand.

"I- I just want you to be okay." He said kissing the top of my head. "I know Amaimon, but I promise  everything will work out. 3 years from now we'll be happy and look back and find this easy." I said trying not to cry.

"I wish we could just skip everything up to that point." he said hugging me. We stood there for a few seconds but it felt like hours. All of our emotions swirled in the air around us. "Me too." I whispered.

I don't know how long we stayed like that. He was going to leave tonight and I wasn't sure if I would be able to sleep. The war was in a little over a week and I was anxious.

I didn't know everything. I didn't know how it would go or even if I would be able to convince them. My plan was a mess and I didn't know what exactly I was going to do. I needed time to think seriously.

Before the night fell, measures were taken so I would be able to sleep for at least the next few days. Our sparing sessions were getting better. Eventually I would get to a point where I could fight in my human form.

My magic lessons started a few days ago. I've been slowly but surely learning things. It was a little hard at first but it became easier with time. My departure with Amaimon was slow in its own way but as soon as he was gone I missed him.

Missing someone is not justified by the time between but the second you miss them at your side. Everything seemed to go by slower. School, lessons, cram, sleep all started to feel like forever. Nights also slowed as I started to sleep less.

His scent was fading from my bloodstream and from my pillows. I could no longer sleep in the cold and lifeless room. The war was coming soon and the pressure was baring its own weight. I needed a plan and, to my advantage, I had the whole night.

I thought all night and, with the help of my keyta, I knew what I had to do. We knew how it was going to play out and how it would end, for better or worse. We were willing to pay the consequences of what we were going to do.

But before that can happen. All the pieces must fall into place. I waited outside of Bon's last period class and hoped he was here today. I perked up when he emerged and quickly sprang up.

"Bon! We need to talk" I said starling him. "Oh! You're okay. That's good to know considering what happened." he said running his hands through his hair. Oh yeah! Last time I saw him was the wedding.

"Yeah. A lot of stuff has been going on so I couldn't go to school." I said being general about the situation. We started making our way down the steps towards the main floor of the school.

"You know if you miss school so much you won't pass the year." He said shaking his head. "Mephisto already has summer classes ready for me because of everything that happened." I said laughing nervously.

"So you're going to be here year 'round?" he said raising an eyebrow. "Yeah I guess." I said. I hadn't thought much of it really. "Don't you want to go home? See family?" he asked as we made it out of the school.

My family huh? Most of them go here and will probably stay here or vacation but what about my dad. "I mean my dad will still be pretty mad about the wedding. He raised me to hate them after all." I said playing with the ring still on my finger.

I know his not just mad. He's probably disappointed. I was taught my whole life that demons were dangerous but that didn't stop me from loving Amaimon to his dismay. I need to fix things with him.

"Yeah. That day was pretty crazy. Things don't always turn out well for you huh?" he said glancing at me. "I guess that's what happens when you're cursed with bad luck." I said laughing a little.

"How was the city? You know, after the wedding?" I asked rubbing my arm. It wouldn't have been attacked if Satan didn't need to get through in the first place. "The damage wasn't as bad as the first time it happened but a lot of people got injured. It's not your fault though, it's no one's." he said trying to make me feel better.

The first time. The Messiah really messed things up in Gehenna. I knew it was bad here but with the money Mephisto had he probably covered it up very well. I didn't hear about it on the news.  A lot of people got hurt this time. There won't be a next time if all goes according to plan.

"Hey so I said I needed your help. Could you get the other cram students together in secret? I want to teach you guys something but my family can't find out about it alright. Not Rin, not Caster, Not Yukio, Not Kasai. None of them. I've been keeping you guys out of the loop for your safety but you guys deserve answers." I said as I put my key in the door.

"So can you do it?" I asked looking at him hopefully. "I only have one thing I need to know. Will this save people?" He asked as we walked down the hall way. "Yes." I said without hesitation. "Then I'll do it." he said as he opened the door and walked into class.

I saw Yukio as well as the rest of my family coming down the hall and knew I had to continue with the plan. I pulled out my phone and dialed Mephisto's number. "You do know you could just come see me." he said answering the phone.

"I don't have the time. I have a lot of things to get ready for but I need to talk to you" I said my eyes darting around the hall. "Korosu. You cannot call from cram school" Yukio said opening the door for my family to enter class together.

"It's Mephisto." I said and he gave a huff knowing that I couldn't hang up for Mephisto was an exception. "Don't be too long." he said warning me before shutting the door.

"I've been meaning to talk to you." Mephisto said. "About what?" I asked leaning against the wall. "I heard that you are going alone." he said grunting in amusement. "I am." I said.

"Now I wonder why." he said and I know he wasn't very concerned but instead wanted to know my plan. "Do you plan to kill them, Ms. Korosuakuma?" he asked over the phone. "No, Watching the hatred from both ends has taught me that no good will come from this bloodshed." I said.

"Then you plan to spare them?" he asked but it was more like a final answer. "Now don't sell me short. It's much more complicated then it appears right now." I said rolling my eyes.

"You know them Korosu. Keytas are violent by nature. If they do not die, then they will kill." he said sounding surprisingly serious. "Demons are the same way. I do not value one race over the other. Both are violent but both have proven that they can live in peace." I said.

"But they are going to war. I hardly call that peaceful" he said. "Yes they want to go to war but have lived in peace for decades while amassing numbers. Both species are equals. Both are violent and have the unnatural urge to hate each other when they are exactly the same. But neither deserve to die in the numbers that will come out of this war. We both know that and that being said, I need you to do me a favor." I said looking around to make sure no one heard me.

"I need you to-" and whispered into the phone. "What? Korosu you know that makes no sense right?" he said confused. "I know it sounds bad but I need you to do this one thing for me." I pleaded.

"You know what you are asking for?" he asked calmly. "Yes. I've thought it through" I sighed. "Then you know everything that can and will happen correct?" he said calmly but I know inside he was calculating.

"Yes. I've accepted my fate." I said nodding trying to convince myself. "Okay then. I'll do it but when things don't start going your way then I will step in. Otherwise I would lose my weapon." he said and I could feel him smirk over the phone.

"I know you're really doing it because we are family. Just one condition for stepping in. Under no circumstances can you use one thing to save me." I said making sure he knew I was serious. "And what would that be?" he asked.

"You will find out in due time." I said and hung up. I walked back into class and smiled as Yukio rolled his eyes.

"You guys go ahead. I have to go talk to a teacher about make up work." I said waving off my family. "Don't be too long!" Kasai said laughing as Rin gave her a piggy back ride.

I sighed once they were out of sight and walked down the cooridor into an empty classroom. I looked around and found the faces of my classmates. I need to do this. I took a deep breath and tried to focus.

"Okay so we are going to practice defence against Keytas" I said breathing out. "Why would we need to know that?" Izumo said crossing her arms. "I will explain everything at the end of all of this. I promise" I said giving a reasurring smile.

I heard some of them huff and complain but let it go. They needed to learn before they got hurt. "Okay so Keytas are part angel. Their angel halves can look drastically different from their human form. Much like mine." I said transforming.

They reached for their weapons but my Keyta tried to keep a level head. "Now now boys and girls. She's still in here. Korosu and I have come to an agreement of some sort." she said lifting her hands in innocence.

"How do we know that?" Bon asked cold'y, unbelieving. "Humans are so jumpy." she smiled giving me back control. I knew this was going to take a bit. "Look, my Keyta and I have an agreement. It was a while ago and came with some other things too. I'm- I'm immortal now and-" I said running my hands through my hair in frustration. I still am not completely super on board with the whole immortal thing.

"Really!? You're so lucky!" Shema said excited. "Its not what I wanted. I'm strong and fast and all that stuff but it's not about me. Not every Keyta is like me. Plus I am a full-blooded Keyta so that gives me the advantage." I said before I realized my mistake.

"Full-blooded? I thought you had to-! Oh my god! You had sex with him?!" Izumo said in disbelief. I couldn't help but blush at what she had said. They were not supposed to know that. "I-I-I-I- he's my mate. You guys wouldn't understand what its like but it not about me okay!" I said blushing and trying to change the subject.

"Keytas summon weapons and types of armor from the orbs. This will vary from Keyta to Keyta and it depends on the angel they descend from." I said turning into my Keyta form. "I happen to descend from a very powerful guardian angel. Thus I am much deadlier than many and because of the agreement I have ease of turning back and forth and because of my lovely mate, I also have all of my powers and more." we said transforming half way through. She pressed her hands together summoning a blade.

She gripped it loosely and looked around the room. Her eyes narrowed on the unsuspecting blonde.

"My dear. Could you stab me in the arm?" she said giving the blade to Shiemi. "U-um I don't know if I could do that." she said looking from my Keyta to the blade clutched in her hand. Oh come on. You know she can't hurt someone like that! Stop messing with her!

"It's okay sweetheart. I'll be okay but you are going to have to learn to take action. I'll let you off the hook for today." she said taking the blade out of her hands. "The most important advantage they have is not their ability to transform or their powers. It's the fact that we look human." My keyta said before stabbing herself through the arm.

A few of them paled and one fainted. She slowly removed the knife and everyone watched as she regenerated. "Normal weapons nor angelic weapons hurt Keytas. If they have transformed before, then they can control their blood." she said flexing her fingers.

"Last thing, because we also can't feel pain,  so your blows will not stop them. So when you aim-" she said tossing a gun to Konekomaru. He clumsily caught it but once he had a firm grip she moved close. "-Go for the kill." she said taking his hand and putting the barrel on the gun facing her forehead.

"That's all for today." she said giving me the reigns back. The gun dissolved in Konekomaru's hand and I grabbed my bag.

"You said you would explain!" Bon yelled. My steps slowed at his remark. I did my best not to look at their faces. I didn't want to see their expressions when they heard what happened.

"A lot has happened that you guys don't know about. I've been kidnapped three times, dealt with things you aren't at the level to fight, I've even seen Gehenna with my own two eyes. You guys just want to do your job and protect people from demons but... that's not what I want. There are more like me and there is going to be a war. If it all goes down hill I need you guys ready. I just need you to remember one thing" I said opening the door.

"These are still people trapped in their own bodies screaming to get out. If you can get close enough then give them a kiss. That..... that is the cure" I said walking out and down the hall. "How do you know?" I heard Shiemi yell from the door of the classroom.

"Because I wouldn't be here if I hadn't been cured" I said going back into the outside world. The two pieces were in place. Everything else would fall where it may. If this was all going to work, it was time to ask for a miracle.
