Point System:
Are you wondering how the graphics will be judged to determine the winners?
Well, here's the point system.
0/10 - Neatness
How neat the graphic you entered was - were pieces of someone's face cut out awkwardly? Did the writing happen to go through someone's eye in a weird and very unflattering way? Is the image used extremely low quality? Things like this will affect your points.
0/10 - Spelling & Fonts
Obviously, if you screwed up and spelled stuff wrong, that will affect your points. Always proofread your graphics writing - and make sure that the instructions are followed. There is nothing wrong with taking notes if necessary! And of course, how the font matches with the graphic you created is always important.
0/20 - Creativity
Creativity is always a special part of a graphic - to manage having the graphic still related to the topic while keeping it original and stunning can be difficult, but it is quite rewarding when you see just how amazing the graphic you created is!
0/10 - Colour Scheme
The colour scheme should match with the theme of the story and/or character(s). For example, if you have a darkly themed story, centred around the murder of an animal, it would be quite odd to have the colour scheme as neon yellow and pink. Also, colours within the graphics do not have to match, but they should blend.
0/10 - Originality
I know in the creativity section, we sort of touched on this. But nonetheless, how original your artwork is, how special it is, is quite important, otherwise, it may either hold no meaning to the reader/viewer, or it may seem repetitive and unimportant - aka holding no meaning to the reader/viewer LOL
0/20 - Face Claim
Did you use the correct actor/singer/artist/PERSON requested? If you didn't that could leave the requester unsatisfied and unhappy.
0/15 - Genre
Did your theme match that of the genre? It would be quite weird and unsuitable to have a cutest animals in the world theme, for example, for a vampire story....
Unless the vampires only drink blood from adorable animals? Or maybe they're vegetarians and this is a story on how the vampires want to save the planet-
0/10 - Imagination
Lol, in all honesty, this probably sounds like creativity and originality from the title, but no, not exactly. It's simply me not being able to think of another word for it. The imagination touches on if you worked with collages, placing images over each other, blending things together - an important part of graphics, as it can look quite epic most of the time.
0/15 - Maturity
Now, something that seems immature for a child(ish) story would be quite fitting - add some rainbows and unicorns and you're set! But when creating a story for teenage or adult audiences, it would be quite unsuitable to have something immature as a story cover.
Total: 0/120
This system will sometimes vary based off of what the contests prompts and theme are, but this is the basics.
I will not just be giving the numbers however, I will write some thoughts with it.
