Chapter 15
Jakey's POV
Lo'Pho scratched his neck. "Jakey, Kay, I can't believe you two are making me do this."
Kay's cheeks were so big from trying not to laugh, she looked like a squirrel. I knew how she felt. Lo'Pho looked so cute and funny at the same time, I didn't know how I was keeping my giggles in.
We were all shopping for wedding clothes. Somehow, Kay and I had found a tiny tuxedo that fit Lo'Pho and forced him to put it on. He looked more adorable than when we went back in time and saw him as a baby/kitten.
Lo'Pho tugged at the collared shirt. "This is ridiculous. Jakey, get me out of this outfit now."
"Oh no, Lo'Pho." I replied. "You are getting that. There is no way I'm not having you wear that."
"Jakey, this is humiliating. I do not wear such ridiculous clothing, even to a wedding. Kay, please help me."
"Nope!" Kay said cheerfully. "Lo'Pho, we're buying you that."
Lo'Pho groaned and shook the jacket out. I giggled at his misery. He deserved this for working us so hard all the time.
A voice chuckled behind me. "I gotta say Lo'Pho, looking pretty swanky in that tux. I didn't know you were going fancy for the week."
I cursed in my head. I knew that voice. I sighed and turned around to see a certain shirtless ice devil slayer.
"Hello, David." I said grumpily.
He gave his usual snarky grin. "Hi there, Jakey. What's new with you?"
"Just browsing around."
"Ah, looking at all the suits for grooms, huh? Wishing you could be in that place."
I blinked and stepped back. "What do you mean?"
"Well, considering you're never getting married, you probably wanted to see yourself in suits, pretending you are. I don't blame you. After all, I'm surprised you even got a serious boyfriend. But, he probably is just staying with you out of pity. He most likely fell out of love with you ages ago."
I clenched my fists and blood rushed to my face. Everything David was saying was a lie, yet it still got to my head. I was here for my wedding suit so I could get married! And Bryan had already proposed to me, I knew that he still loved me! I was getting sick of David's bullying.
Lo'Pho touched my leg. "Want me to blast him with so light so bright that he'll be blinded?"
"No," I whispered back. "I've got this."
I stepped closer to David's face. "Listen here, you icy demon killer. I am fed up with your stupid words and lies. And I'm sick of taking it lying down. And guess what? Bryan's already proposed to me. Want to see the ring?"
Without waiting for an answer, I raised my right hand and punched David in the nose, hard. He went flying and he landed on a table laden with ties. Blood was pouring out of his nose like a waterfall. There was a mark on his face the shape of my ring. He stood up shakily and whimpered. He bolted out of the shop, practically crying.
I was shocked and happy at the same time. I had done it. I finally stood up for myself. I grinned out of happiness. And I had a feeling David had learned a lesson he was not gonna forget any time soon.
