Jakey's POV

Bryan carried me into his bedroom and gently put me down on the bed. He flopped down next to me and began straddling me and spooning me. He wrapped one arm around my waist and pulled me closer to him. Then, he gently cupped my cheek with his other hand. I wriggled closer and wrapped my arms around his neck.

We cuddled and spooned for about ten minutes before Bryan grinned at me and moved my head onto his chest. He lowered his head closer to my ear and whispered.

"You know, I really can't get enough of this."

"Me neither," I whispered back. "I wish we could do this forever."

"We can, you know."

"What do you mean?" I asked.

He smiled slyly. "Look at your right hand."

I unwrapped my right arm from him and looked at my hand. When I saw my middle finger, I almost yelped.

A silver ring with a shining blue sapphire set into it was on my finger.

I clapped my hand to my mouth. "Are you serious?"

"Very serious, Jakey. Remember back when you first confessed to me? You described it as a song no one else could hear. That's how I feel right now. Jakey, you're the person I want to spend the rest of my life with. Everything about you is like something made of gold to me. You're...you're made for me."

I looked him unsurely. "Bryan, I...I don't know. What if something happens and we lose each other? What if our relationship doesn't work out if we get married? What if-"

"What if we end up spending our lives together in happiness?" Bryan interjected. "What if we have a family that we'll love and cherish? What if we stop wondering about the what if's and just live by our hearts?"

These words made me think. The truth was, Bryan was right. I knew he was the one I wanted to spend my life with. I wanted a family with him, I wanted to spend every second of every day with him. I just worried that something might happen if we rushed into marriage. I was just...too frightened that something might happen to him or me.

I buried my head in his chest. "I know, I know, it's just...I don't want anything bad to happen to you. I already almost lost you to the Hanahaki. I can't let something like that happen again."

"Jakey, don't worry. That was when I still didn't know you love me. I know that now, and if anything comes my way, I'll blast it into ashes. That's a promise."

I smiled against my good judgement. "Alright, then. Yes. Yes, I'll do it."

He gave a cute squeal and hugged me even closer, if that was possible. Then a thought came to my head and I giggled.

"What is it?" he asked.

"Oh, I'm just imagining the others reactions when they find out we're getting married."

We started laughing and we couldn't stop. It wasn't just that thought. It was the thought that Bryan and I were gonna spend the rest of our lives together.
