Smile

Ginny sat glumly at the Gryffindor table, running a spoon through her oatmeal. Although it was relieving for the war to be over, the year had been uneventful, considering past expectations.

"Ginny? Are you in there?" Hermione teased, sitting across from her. Things between had been a little rocky since Hermione started dating Ron and Ginny and Harry had called off their relationship. The latter was the cause of the most discomfort.

"Yeah, I'm alright." Ginny absentmindedly replied. "Just...tired, I suppose." Hermione, realizing that nothing meaningful would come of the conversation, stuck her nose into her book.

"Hello!" Luna exclaimed, dreamily, wrapping her arms affectionately around Ginny's neck before sitting down. "I hope I haven't missed anything, I found some wackspurts in my room. Had to get rid of those before it became an infestation."

"You didn't miss anything. Hermione's been studying. And I've been-" Ginny began recalling the morning until Luna cut her off.

"Sitting there, playing with your food. Just like every morning." She finished.

"If you'll excuse me, I should head back to my room. I think I left something." Hermione excuses herself.

Ginny watches her friend walk away and remarks to Luna. "I wish we could be alright again. Hermione and me."

"Give it time. Eventually you'll be able to clear the air." Luna advises.

"I love that she and Ron are together, but it's like she doesn't respect the mutual decision Harry and I made to just be friends." Ginny laments.

Luna plays with Ginny's hair. "I think it's more the reason you left him."

Ginny's cheeks turn bright red. "She doesn't know, does she? I mean, I love you, but I'm just not comfortable telling them. I mean, I don't want them to be uncomfortable. It's all very sudden, it's only been a few months since Harry and I split."

"Hermione's smart enough to know that there was someone else in the picture. Maybe if you told her and reassured her that you never cheated on Harry, she'd feel better. You would look awfully suspicious, you know, if she realized that much." Luna theorizes.

"Maybe...maybe you're right, Luna." Ginny reluctantly admits.

"I hope you'll smile more, Ginny." Luna remarks.

"What?" Ginny inquires.

"You've not smiled much lately. And I do love to watch you smile." Luna explains.

Ginny giggles. "Not as much as I love you."
