Chapter 6
Alex was finally able to go back to school the next day, which just made John worry more about the flower. He was lucky that it was getting colder, giving him an excuse as to why his hair was always down. Alex continued to try and figure out who his flower was for and still insisted that John help. Which was kind of a problem.
"What about Kitty?" Alex asked as he kept suggesting names to John. He sighed.
"Look, if you don't know who it is, why don't you just go on dates with everyone you think it might be?"
"That would take way too long. So I have to shorten it down."
He only had a few people in reality to choose from; what can he say, he's very picky.
"How about this," John started, "you try the first four people at the top of your list. If it's none of them, then you can move down the list."
"Well, it's as good a plan as any. Thanks. Well, we should probably head to school."

Everyone could tell that Peggy knew something. She was more hyper than she usually was, and seemed to having a knowing look in her eyes whenever she even glanced at Alex. John discreetly slapped her side everytime.
Whenever someone asked her what was so exciting, she simply replied that she was excited for Christmas.
"But Peggy, Christmas is still 2 weeks away." Angelica had told her.
"I know. But it's never too early to get excited."
It was partially true; she always went overboard on Christmas and this year was going to be no different. She always had a party at their house and usually had the whole night planned out. Everyone usually wanted to spend Christmas with their families, but Peggy always had the time schedule figured out since she planned things way in advance.
It was now only about a week left before Christmas and Peggy was dragging everyone to the mall to go Christmas shopping.
"If we don't get it done now, we won't really get it done at all."
With that said, she sent everyone off to go shopping by themselves. But she made John come with her.
"So," Peggy started as they walked into Sears, "whatchu gonna get Alex?"
"I don't know. I guess I'll just have to wait until something catches my eye."
"Alright."
They moved around the store picking out clothes and shoes. John didn't know what he was getting Alex, but it definitely wasn't going to be clothes. He was looking at a rack of clothes when Peggy leaned over his shoulder.
"I know something you could get him~."
"I'm not telling him."
"Cmooooooon." Peggy whined, sliding away and dramatically sinking to the floor. "It's the perfect gift! You tell him you love him, he realizes his flower is for you, and bada bing! Relationship all thanks to moi."
"Yeah, no. Besides, he wants to find out for himself. As for a present, I'm probably just gonna get him another notebook. He uses those up quicker than anyone I've ever seen."
"True."
They decided on what they were going to buy and checked out before heading out and meeting everyone at the food court. Everyone else has maybe two or three bags, but Eliza had several bags on each arm.
"Dang, Eliza, who are all those for?" Alex asked.
"Family members, you guys, a few other people. You're not the only one I shop for."
Since everyone had bought what they were getting, they all headed back to their cars.
"Alright, people. I expect you all to be at our house in about a week." Peggy told them. "I'm hoping this year will be better than last year."
