The next week was back to being normal. At least, mostly. Everyone was able to joke around like usual, there weren't any more tensions, and Alex and John were aware of the others feelings. But they hadn't exactly talked about what they were yet.

It was driving them both insane. They would be sitting somewhere and Alex would lean his head over on John's shoulder, and John would then wrap an arm around his waist. Everyone could tell they wanted to be something. They just hadn't decided exactly what yet.

Alex was walking to John's house, determination on his face. He had stayed up practically the whole previous night, wondering if he should talk to John about everything. Eventually, he gave in to what his brain was telling him and was walking behind John's house to the tree.

He got to where he was high enough to reach John's window when he stopped. Even though he knew that John felt the same, he was still nervous. He glanced at the window, seeing John sitting at his desk, and it appeared that he was sketching something. His hair was pulled back, showing off his flower. Alex took a deep breath, and leaned forward to knock on the window.

John visibly jumped, startled, before noticing Alex outside. He set his things to the side and got up, opening the window and helping Alex inside. Alex didn't say anything as he sat down on John's bed, John joining him.

"Is something wrong?" John asked. "You're very quiet."

Alex sighed. "It's just, we know we like each other, but we haven't really decided that we're anything yet."

"Honestly, I just didn't know if you wanted to be anything yet. That's why I haven't asked."

"Oh, ok. That makes me feel a lot better." Alex admitted. "I thought you just didn't want us to date or anything."

John wrapped an arm around Alex, pulling him closer. "Lex, I'd you had just asked me, you know I would've said yes."

Alex leaned into John. "I just didn't want to rush into a relationship if you didn't want one yet."

"Alex, of course I do. And you know what?"

Alex shifted to look at him. "What?"

"Alex, I love you so much. Will you be my boyfriend?"

Alex grinned, launching himself forward to hug John, accidentally knocking John backwards onto the bed. They both started laughing and John hugged him back.

"I'm gonna take that as a yes."

"Of course it's a yes."

They calmed down a bit and just looked at each other, smiling. John finally pushed himself up, still keeping an arm wrapped around Alex. He finally was sitting upright with Alex in his lap.

"J-john?" Alex asked nervously. John hummed a reply, brushing a stray curl off of Alex's face.

"Um, can I kiss you?" Alex asked. John smiled at him, moving his hand from where it was from pushing aside the curl to cup Alex face. Slowly, he pulled him into a soft kiss. Alex's eyes fluttered closed as he kissed back, his hands moving from around John to up his chest before placing them on John's shoulders, pulling him closer slightly. John rubbed his thumb softly across Alex's cheek before they pulled away.

Alex's face was flushed, and he was grinning. He wrapped his arms back around John, laying his head on his shoulder.

"I love you."

"I love you, too."
