The next time he has advanced biology, it starts off the same. Mingi goes to his seat, sits down and takes out his homework from the other day. He sees that pretty floral pencil and his eyes lock on it, should he give it back? He went to the store yesterday and got him some regular wooden pencils, so maybe he should give this pencil back to Seonghwa.
Speaking of, the blonde walks in, a white flower crown covering his blonde hair and he cuts through students to get to his seat. He gives Mingi a shy smile before sitting down quickly and facing the front, getting out his notebook and was ready for notes.
Mingi grabs the pencil and leans forward, clearing his throat. Seonghwa didn't move, and Mingi clears his throat again, this time tapping on his shoulder with the pencil and that time Seonghwa looks behind at him. His eyes widen when he sees the pencil and takes it, looking from it to the man behind him and Mingi smirks.
"I have some pencils now, you can have yours back," Mingi says quietly, the classroom was loud so Seonghwa barely heard him. But he frowns as he takes the pencil anyway, not before shaking his head and giving it back to Mingi.
"Keep it," Seonghwa spoke softly, smiling shyly as he turns back around to face the front.
Mingi could feel his cheeks heating up and looks back down at the marble floral pencil. Biting his lip ring, he sits back and hooks the pencil in the metal rings of his notebook. He had decided that this will be his biology pencil.
Class swung by and soon enough everyone was packing up their things to head to their next class. Before Seonghwa could get too far, Mingi taps him on the shoulder again, earning his attention and the flower crown boy blushes. Mingi bites his lip ring, "Do you uh... have any plans today?"
"I-I have class-"
"When are you done?"
"Three..." Seonghwa swallows, looking down at the floor, "But I need to go home and... take care of things."
Mingi felt his heart drop at the sudden rejection, but he shook it off and didn't let anyone (especially the cute boy in front of him) see. He nods, "Okay, well, I was just curious. I kind of need a study partner for tests, I'm a horrible test taker, and I was wondering if you wanted to be the lucky soul to kind of study with me?"
Seonghwa giggles a little and Mingi felt weak in the knees hearing them chime. They were soft, but they seemed to have rang out around Mingi. The blonde nods softly, his eyes had a tiny glint in them, "Okay, it would have to be here and sometime before three. Once three hits, I have to head home."
"You can't do anything after three?" Mingi asks, arching his pierced eyebrow.
"I cannot unfortunately," Seonghwa looks at his watch and bites his lip, "I need to get to my next class. I'll see you Friday?"
"Y-Yeah," Mingi nods, blushing more and trying hard to not let anyone see, "See you then."
He watches as the flower crown boy walks away, heading to his next class. His heart races and he coughs before grabbing his things. He hears snickering from behind him, and looks to see Jongho smirking. Mingi narrows his eyes, "What shithead?"
"That was brutal watching you get rejected," Jongho laughs, patting Mingi hard on the back, "Your face had hurt written all over it."
"Shut the fuck up," Mingi spat, jerking away and Jongho snorts.
"Take it easy man, I was just messing with you," he sighs, brushing his hands through his hair, "I need a drink. Hey are you by any chance going over to San's later?"
"No why?"
Jongho shrugs, "Figured we'd all get high and sing Kumbaiya," The younger rolls his eyes, "We all haven't had the chance to hung out all summer and we need to get fucked up."
"You know I can't with my dad," Mingi mumbles, they leave the classroom together and head to their next classes.
"He doesn't have to know," Jongho wiggles his eyebrows, "Who knows, maybe Seonghwa can come and you can get some ass." Mingi stops and grits his teeth, his jaw clenched so hard Jongho swears he heard it pop. His eyes widen, "Chill dude. I'm just messing with you," Mingi rolls his eyes and walks away, Jongho snorting once more, "Fuck you really need to get laid."

"Mom?" Seonghwa calls when he steps into the house, laying his keys on the table by the door, "I'm home!"
As soon as he shuts the door, he hears glass shattering and his heart races, hurrying to find the source of the sound and seeing his mom rummage through the cabinets, muttering under her breath about needing a cup. He steps in, seeing she's barefoot and stepping on glass, blood coating the tile below her feet, "Mom stay still okay?"
She turns abruptly, her eyes had that far away look in them and were glazed, "Who the hell are you and what are you doing in my house!?"
Seonghwa felt his heart break, "Mom its me Hwa-"
"You're not my son! I don't know you!" She walks forward, crunching on glass as she walks.
His eyes water as he holds his hands out, "Mom please stop! You're walking on glass!" He was wearing his shoes still luckily, and he steps in to stop her. But as soon as he takes her arms in his hands, she jerks them away and tries to swing her fists at him. He is quick, knowing this happens more often than now. He felt a sob breaking through his chest and he lets the tears spill over, "Mom please! It's me Seonghwa!"
He heard keys rattling and the door slamming shut, footsteps running in and a gasp, "Mary!"
Seonghwa wraps his arms around his mom and takes her to the living room. Once she's sat in her chair, she calms down and her eyes water, "My feet-"
"I'll get the bandages," the nurse, Lisa, spoke as she started to run off.
"You've done enough!" Seonghwa snaps, "Where were you?! Your car wasn't here when I pulled in and you know you're not supposed to leave her by herself!"
"I-I-" She stutters, and Seonghwa could smell the cigarette smoke on her breath.
He glares, "Get out. I'm calling the agency and filing a complaint," he growls, and she stared wide eyed.
"Please don't!" She begged, "Please you can't-"
"I said get out of my house!" Seonghwa screams, pointing to the door, "If you ever come to my home again I'm ending my services with this company!"
She didn't say anything as she packed up her gear and left, leaving Seonghwa to turn to his mother and grab his phone. He dials 911 and asks for an ambulance, and when he hangs up the phone he squats by his mom, grabbing her foot and started brushing away some of the glass that wasn't shoved deep in her feet. She didn't say anything as she watched him.
His eyes water and soon he was silently crying and sobbing as the frustration of having to find a new nurse kicks in. Not to mention the hospital bill and having the ambulance come out because he didn't want her to walk at all and shove the glass deeper.
He sniffles and wipes his eyes with his shirt sleeve, only to feel his mom's soft hand cupping his cheek and wiping his hot tears away. He looks up, to see her smiling, "Why are you crying baby?"
Seonghwa's lips wobbles and he sobs, leaning forward and laying his head in her lap. She shushes him, brushing her hands through his blonde hair and taking the flower crown off of his head and laying it on the couch beside her. Seonghwa hears the sirens of the ambulance getting closer, but he doesn't move. He sits there, with his head in his mother's lap as he sobs and cries his heart out.
He just wanted his mom back.
