Seonghwa takes in a deep breath as he bounces his leg in nervousness. The last time he was here was when his mom first found out she was sick and his grandmother made her come here to get everything situated. He hated it. He hated that she did that and put the thought of death in his mother's mind and Seonghwa's.

But now, he's glad she did. There's no way she would be able to do anything now.

"Park Seonghwa?"

He stands, and Mingi takes his hand, lacing their fingers together as they follow the secretary to a secluded office in the building. She smiles as she gestures to the chairs, "Have a seat, make yourselves comfortable. Can I get you something to drink?"

"Two waters please," Mingi spoke up for them, wrapping his arm around Seonghwa and bringing him close for comfort.

"I'll be right back with those," she smiles, closing the door right after she leaves.

Mingi sits Seonghwa down first before he sits down, never removing his hand, "You okay?"

Seonghwa hesitated before shrugging, "I'm alright for now."

Mingi kisses his temple, rubbing his arm as he sighs, "It'll be okay. You guys got this settled when she first got sick. This is just to go over costs and everything."

Seonghwa nods, "I know. I wish I didn't have to be in this position right now..."

"I know baby," Mingi whispers, "But you're not alone. I'm right here with you."

The door opens and the attorney steps in along with the secretary. She brings over two cold bottles of water and a coffee for the attorney. He nods to her, and she takes her leave just as quickly as she showed up. He sits down and clears his throat before speaking to them, "Mr. Park, it's been a while since we have seen one another."

"Almost ten years," Seonghwa nods, taking a sip of water as the attorney hums.

"You're a grown man now. Is this your significant other?"

"Song Mingi," Mingi introduces himself, holding his free hand out to shake with the attorney.

"Pleasure," the attorney gives him a professional nod, "Now, you're an only child correct?"

"That's right," Seonghwa nods.

"Wonderful, that means everything will go to you based on your mother's signature," the attorney nods, taking out his glasses and putting them on before going over the list, "The house, her car-"

"W-We had to sell the car to pay for medical expenses," Seonghwa admits, "I just have my car."

"Oh, well in that case it looks like you have rights to the house, the property, and everything that was hers unless you are to give it to someone or sell it. What's also yours is this account at this bank."

Seonghwa frowns, sitting up instantly, "My mother didn't have another bank account. Just the one we have now to pay medical bills."

"Oh but this one was from when your grandparents passed," the attorney arches his eyebrow, "Your father's parents left a handsome amount of money for you when they died, and together with her parents, she put it aside for you. Her tax returns and everything went into this account."

Seonghwa frowns, "W-What?"

The attorney chuckles, handing Seonghwa the paperwork and showing the proof right before him, "It's right there in black and white son."

Mingi couldn't believe it as he read the numbers on the page, it was mind blowing to think Seonghwa had all of this money now. What would he do with it? Pay bills? Pay off student loans? No one knows, only Seonghwa.

It was his money, he can do whatever he pleases with it.

"I-I don't know what to say," Seonghwa whispers as he looks over the numbers, Mingi was silent as he studied the numbers over and over again.

"You don't need to say anything," the attorney chuckles as he takes a pen out of his pocket and takes the papers back, "I just need signatures and initials on these documents and everything is yours. This is our protection against your father in case he decides to sue you for anything."

Seonghwa nods, biting his lip, "And its okay to do that now?"

"It's better to do it now that to wait when your mother dies and run on a twenty-four hour time clock," the attorney highlights where he needs Seonghwa to sign and initial as he talks, "The bank needs to release the account to it's rightful owner within a twenty-four hour period or it'll be passed down to the next in line for it."

Seonghwa frowns, "It should be me, I'm the only child-"

"He's talking about your father baby," Mingi breaks in, and Seonghwa pales.

"But-But he can't access it! He's not been around!" Seonghwa exclaims, looking to the attorney.

"According to these documents here, she's never filled out the divorce paperwork," The attorney sighs, "Your father tried to get her to sign them when he found out about her illness but she wouldn't. Legally, they're still married."

Seonghwa rubs his forehead in frustration, grabbing the pen and began signing, "And this will protect the money from him?"

"Yes, it will as long as we have your signature," the attorney nods, "Sign everything you're supposed to and it will be all yours when she's gone."

Seonghwa does so, and once he's done he sighs in relief, "The first thing I'm going to do is make sure that fucker doesn't get anywhere near this money. If he even tries to access it through you, I want you to do everything in your power to keep it safe. He doesn't have access to anything of ours for as long as I live."

They leave the office with a promising future ahead of them, Seonghwa looks to Mingi and smiles, "First things first, those medical bills need to go."

Mingi chuckles, "It's your money, you decide what you're doing with it. I'm sure your mother doesn't want you spending it on her medical bills though."

"What else am I going to use it for? I could use it for school. I could use it to fix up the house, but with that amount of money I'll still have plenty left over."

Mingi smiles, "Like I said, save it up and take yourself on a vacation or something."

Seonghwa smiles, wrapping his arms around Mingi as he looks up at his boyfriend, "As long as you go with me."

Mingi chuckles, "I told you wherever you go I'll follow. Even if it's to the nearest town to get away from here, I'll go with you," he leans down and connects their lips in a soft kiss before pulling away, "Let's go see your mother."

"Okay," Seonghwa giggles, kissing Mingi once more before they get in the car and drive off to the hospital.
