Flower Crown © simqlea
almost a month after we met you told me you liked volleyball,
and four months after that (when we finally went into junior highschool) you joined the volleyball club.
you looked so happy then.
you looked so happy
and sweet
and gentle
and kind
and so unbearably kageyama tobio.
(i wish it could've stayed that way.
i wish you could've stayed that way.)
we went to the garden again after that.
it was very peaceful there.
just you
and me
and the water
the sky
the clouds
the sun
the silent moon
the birds
the yellow roses
and the angel fountain.
when we sat down on the stone bench—
(your knees went up to your chest
and i couldn't help but think about how small you would've looked had we met earlier.
it's not often i get lost in thought,
but when i do
and you are the one on my mind,
i can't help but wish we'd met earlier.
that we could've had more time.)
—you told me that the flower crown had wilted.
but then you followed it quickly with a
don't worry!
and told me that you'd pressed the golden roses beneath one of the big dusty books in your house.
an encyclopedia, if i remember correctly.
i also remember how i thought you so sweet.
you're so sweet, kageyama tobio.
(you were sweet, kageyama tobio.)
so considerate
and sweet.
i made you another flower crown that day—
yellow roses, just like the first one.
and it seemed that amaterasu truly favoured you that day
(and honestly, she probably still does)
for when you put the crown on your head ever-so-gently
the sunlight hit the water just right
and there you were.
a boy wearing a crown of golden roses
in a golden garden
with a golden heart
and a golden smile.
a golden boy.
(i wished i could call you my golden boy.
i still wish i could call you my golden boy.
but amaterasu favours you
not me
the gods favour you
not me
and with the way you've been acting it seems you're on the path to divinity so
you will be their golden boy.)
