Yunho let out a strangled cry before quickly covering his mouth and running to Lily's side.
Her song faltered at the sight of her friends and she started shaking her head rapidly before forcing herself to continue. Her body shook in both fear and relief.
Yunho wrapped his arms around her protectively, grinding his teeth together in frustration. Then he started to fiddle with the chain on the wall. Lily placed her hands on his to stop him, still singing. Her eyes pleaded for them to go.
"No." Yunho said, batting her arms away and taking a closer look at the chain. It was padlocked.
He turned to the others and whispered, "Key."
Seonghwa and Wooyoung quickly looked around the room for any sign of a key.
Lily started to panic. It was taking to long. He would be back soon. They had to go before he saw them. If he did...
Jongho popped his head in the room, waving his hands in a panic and rubbing his hands together, imitating washing hands.
Lily faltered again, fighting back a sob, and tried to push Yunho away. She pointed to the door frantically, tears staining her red cheeks.
Yunho shook his head again and waived Jongho over. "Can you break this?" He said, moving himself and Lily away from the wall, being careful not to let the chain pull on the collar.
Jongho nodded and started to pull on the chain.
A door opened. All five of them froze, but Lily still forced herself to sing.
They could hear footsteps scrapping the ground.
Wooyoung looked around, then growled as he picked up one of the beer bottles on the table.
The man pushed the door open, too drunk to register there were other people in the room. "Such a pretty song, my Songbird. Let's have some f- "
Wooyoung brought the bottle down on the man's head, knocking him out.
Lily's strangled cry broke the tension just as Jongho pulled against the chain, tearing the ring out of the wall.
All four boys surrounded her, protecting her with their bodies. Yunho's long arms pulled her to his chest and he fought back tears as she clung to him.
"We need to get her out of here." Seonghwa said quickly, glancing back at the man on the ground.
Yunho shifted, picking Lily up in his arms in a smooth motion. His long legs carried her out of the room. Wooyoung kept pace with him, jogging slightly, holding onto the chain so it didn't make too much noise, but also keeping it from pulling on her neck.
Seonghwa ran down the hall to what he presumed was Lily's room. It was as bare as the rest of the house. But he did pull the blanket off her bed and stuffed some of her clothes and whatever else he could find into a bag.
The others were waiting for him by the front door. He handed Yunho the blanket to wrap around the shivering girl. He managed to use one of his arms to hold her up while she clung to his neck, while the other one worked on the blanket. Wooyoung did his best to help.
Without a backward glance they left the house behind them and hurried to Seonghwa's.
The door burst open, startling the other four members waiting impatiently in the living room.
"San." Seonghwa called out. "Get some water. Yeosang, towels. Mingi, keep an eye on the street, you too Hongjoong. Make sure we weren't followed."
No one questioned the eldest's authority, scrambling to get their jobs done. The other four helped get Lily up the stairs and into one of the bedrooms.
"Jongho, in the garage should be some thing we can use to get this off. Bring whatever you can find." The youngest left without another word. "Yunho, lets get her on the bed, keep her wrapped up for now."
He nodded and tried to set Lily down, but she didn't let go of his neck, so he just sat with her in his lap. Wooyoung knelt next to them, rubbing the back of her head. He still held the chain in his other hand.
"Baby, are you ok?" Seonghwa knelt as well, placing a hand on her shoulder. "Who was that man."
Lily just shook her head, a new wave of tremors wracking her body.
"Give her time, Hwa." Yunho said, pulling her closer.
The door opened quickly as San and Yeosang came running in, closely followed by Jongho.
"What happened?" Yeosang asked, numbly passing the towels to Seonghwa. The way Lily clung to Yunho surprised him, especially when he saw her bare arms and the marks covering them.
He heard San gasp and knew they had seen the same thing at the same time.
The collar.
Wooyoung glared at them, warning them not to say anything.
Jongho gently pushed Wooyoung out of the way so he could gain better access to the chain, using a heavy-duty bolt cutter to rip through the thick metal. Wooyoung immediately tossed it aside, treating it like it was poisoned. Then the youngest pulled out a small pair of scissors and placed a hand on the girl's head. "Try not to move," he whispered.
She whimpered in response and felt Yunho's hands tighten around her.
Jongho gingerly slipped the scissors on either side of the leather collar and used his strength to cut through the thick material. It was hard, the leather was well made, but when the last snip happened, and the collar fell off, Lily fell into a new wave of sobs.
"Shhh," Seonghwa cooed, rubbing her head. "You're safe now. We've got you." He turned slightly and thanked Jongho. The youngest nodded, letting his gaze linger on Lily before motioning for San and Yeosang to follow him, trying to clear out the room.
"What happened?" Yeosang asked again, his words hitching in his throat.
Jongho waited until he was downstairs with the other two keeping watch before he told them what had happened.
They stood in stunned silence for a long time. San's shoulders shook, both hands over his mouth. Yeosang had wrapped his arms around the others' waist, wanting to comfort him and seeking comfort in return.
Mingi walked over to Jongho and pulled him into a hug. The youngest's face was blank, still trying to process what had happened.
Hongjoong swore and looked up the stairs once before glancing out at the street, running his hands through his hair.

Lily did her best to hold it back, but she still whimpered whenever the warm cloth brushed any bruised or beaten part of her skin. She had eventually let Seonghwa convince her to come out of the blanket so he could clean her up. He led her into the bathroom so they could have some privacy. He cooed over her whenever she made a sound, making sure each one of his movements were precise, but gentle.
He struggled though. The number of bruises and cuts littering her body were enough to make him want to hold her and never let go.
They said nothing as he slowly cleaned her, going farther and farther down. When he got to her thighs, he couldn't keep in the gasp. Lily shuddered and tried to hide them, not wanting him to see, but the man shook his head and gently pushed with his hand, asking her permission instead of forcing.
She obeyed, reluctantly. The insides of her thighs were covered in bite marks, one of the man's ways of claiming her as his.
Seonghwa continued to dip the towels into the water and dab at her skin, trying to comfort her whenever she started trembling again.
When he was finished, he drew a hot bath for her and left the bathroom to give her some time.
Yunho was pacing back and forth while Wooyoung was staring at the pile of chains still laying in the corner. Both looked up the instant the eldest came out.
"How is she?" They asked at the same time.
Seonghwa glanced at the door behind him, then whispered, "Not good. Whatever that man did..." he faltered, placing a hand over his mouth to stifle a sob.
"That man, he said 'Daddy'... You don't think?" Yunho asked sitting down on the bed.
Wooyoung's face turned red with rage. "If he is..."
"Calm down, Wooyoung. She doesn't need that right now."
"Yes, Hwa..." Wooyoung said, but then stalked out of the room.
"Let's give her some space, she will come to us when she's ready." Seonghwa said to Yunho, placing a hand on his shoulder before laying out a change of clothes on the bed.
The taller nodded and both left the room to join the others.
