Bright's POV

Where the hell is room 30??? I have been going up and down several corridors now but I can't seem to find it.

I hadn't encounter anyone in any of the corridors to ask where room 30 was.

Then as luck would have it, when I turned into the next corridor, just as I was thinking of going back to the monk in charge to get directions to the room assigned to me, I saw two guys walking ahead of me.

"Hey," I called out. "I'm lost. Can you tell me where I can find room 30?"

Both of them turned at the same time.

All three of us froze in our tracks, our eyes widening like three deer caught in the blinding headlights of an oncoming lorry.

Nanon was the first to speak. Yes of course I knew Nanon. He would sometimes be present in some of Win's and my special events where we would invite mutual friends to attend.

"Bright!" Nanon exclaimed walking quickly to me and giving me a quick hug, moving quickly away after that because of course he didn't want my wet clothes to get him wet as well.

Win and I just looked at each other speechless. We were both too tongue-tied and shocked to see each other.

Then once more it was Nanon who broke the awkward silence.

"You just passed by it," he said. "It's the room next to ours."

Oh shit, I was going to sleep in a room right next to Win. How was I going to sleep well tonight? I'm sure I would lie awake staring at the ceiling in the dark, listening to the wind and the rain as it came down on the roof of the temple, reliving in my mind all the happy times we spent together and weeping in rhythm with the falling rain for the love I lost because of my carelessness and negligence and for taking Win's love for granted.

"Thank you," I said, "I had been too much in distress to look at the room numbers properly."

"You will find dry clothes and towels in the closets inside the rooms," Nanon informed me. "And the shower rooms are at the end of this hallway," he added.

"Thank you," I said again, trying my best to avoid looking at Win.

 "Let's meet later at the dining hall for dinner," Nanon said, followed with an "oww!" because I had the feeling that Win had pinched him somewhere in the back.

"Sure," I replied, pretending that I did not hear Nanon's yelp of pain. "See you later then, maybe in half an hour?"

"Half an hour sounds perfect to me," Nanon replied.

"Oww!"  I heard Nanon's yelp of pain once more as I turned to go inside my designated room.

I gathered the dry clothes and chose a burgundy towel from the pile in the bottom drawer of one of the closets.

I headed quickly towards the set of shower rooms.

There were other people who had also sought shelter in this temple who were either just coming out of a shower room or were about to enter one.

All shower rooms seemed to be occupied.

I waited patiently outside one door. I had heard the shower being turned off. There was a brief silence before the user of the shower room stepped out.

"Hi," the person said to me with a friendly smile. "I hope I did not keep you waiting long."

"No worries," I smiled back at him.

For those who might not know him, his name is Ben Bunyapol Likhitamnuayporn. He starred opposite Man Trisanu Soranun in the Thai BL series "Step by Step".

I found it unnerving that he looked so much like Win. If I had not seen Win earlier this evening I would most certainly have mistaken him for Win.

He extended his hand to me saying, "Hi, I'm Ben. I'm happy to see that you are among the lucky ones like me who was able to make it to this temple."

"Yes," I said. "I thank my lucky stars for bringing me here safely. Nice to meet you, Ben. My name is Bright."

"The pleasure is mine," Ben replied. "What room number were you assigned to?"

"Room 30," I replied. "How about you?"

"Oh my, that's right across my room," said Ben. "I'm in room 29."

"Wow, what a happy coincidence," I remarked.

"Have you had dinner yet?" he asked.

"No, not yet," I replied.

"Would you like for us to have dinner together later at the dining hall?" he asked with a hopeful smile that melted my heart.
