Third Person POV

"In what room were you assigned?" Santa asked Cooheart while pouring some orange juice into Cooheart's glass.

"I was assigned to room 5," Cooheart replied.

"You wanna switch rooms and join me in room one?" Santa asked, studying Cooheart's face carefully.

Cooheart lowered his head so that Santa would not see the indecision on his face. He was reluctant to leave his boyfriend Pond without having a proper conversation with him regarding Pond's sudden walkout from the dining hall.

Cooheart busied himself with cutting a small piece from the ham that Santa had placed on Cooheart's plate.

"Will the monk in charge allow that?" Cooheart finally responded to Santa's question with his own question.

"Of course," Santa quickly replied. "The monk in charge is my mom's older brother so I have been assigned to the very first room without any roommates. He will only assign another occupant there when all the other rooms have been filled and more people seek shelter."

Cooheart chewed his food carefully while thinking hard. He was sorely tempted to take up Santa's offer because he was not inclined to deal with Pond's earlier tantrum and sulky behavior.

Finally, Cooheart took a sip from his glass of orange juice before saying, "Can you give me until this afternoon to decide on your offer?"

"Take as much time as you need," Santa said with a doting smile to Cooheart.

"What about your boyfriend Perth?" Cooheart suddenly remembered that Santa had his own boyfriend.

"I have been trying to call him since yesterday but my calls keep getting dropped like he has blocked my number," Santa replied with a frown. "He hasn't tried to contact me either. I hope he is safe somewhere."

"What will you do if he finally calls you?" Cooheart asked.

This time it was Cooheart who was studying Santa's face intently.

"I will listen to what he has to say," Santa replied truthfully. "I have this sneaky feeling that he is seeing his ex boyfriend Chimon and that could be the reason that he has been remiss in keeping in touch with me."

Cooheart sighed loudly.

"Our love lives are in such a mess," Cooheart said, his face taking on a sad expression.

"I think that a proper conversation with the concerned persons would sort things out," Santa remarked.

"If they give us a chance," Cooheart responded.

"True," Santa agreed.

"More orange juice?" Santa asked Cooheart when he noticed that Cooheart's glass was empty.

"Thanks but I'd rather have some still water for now," Cooheart replied.

"Still water it is then," Santa said, getting up from the table to fetch Cooheart an eight ounce bottle of natural spring water from a stack of crates in one corner of the dining hall. He twisted the lid and removed it before handing it to Cooheart.

"Thanks," Cooheart said as he accepted the bottle.

Suddenly Cooheart felt some kind of sadness as he recalled the loving care that he always received from Santa during the times that they were together. He started to regret that he ever left Santa for Pond.

For those who might not know him, his name is Pond Ponlawit Ketprapakorn. He is currently Cooheart's love partner in the BL series "Fourever You"

Pond's POV

I quickly turned away so that Cooheart would not see the tears that were starting to fill up my eyes and were threatening to overflow.

"I'm suddenly not hungry," I responded to Cooheart's offer of a breakfast plate, quickly walking out of the dining hall because my tears indeed had started to overflow and were trickling down my cheeks.

I ran towards room five where Cooheart and myself and four other occupants had been assigned to stay.

Fortunately there was no one in the room at the moment. I assumed that all the other occupants were busy eating breakfast in the dining hall.

I lay face down on the bed by the wall which I shared with Cooheart.

I started to question myself whether it was the right decision to be in a relationship with Cooheart. I was aware that he had so many other boyfriends before me. I just did not want to pry into his past affairs. I wanted for him to volunteer to tell me about his previous love life. As of now, though, he has chosen to keep his past hidden from me. Was it foolish of me to trust him completely? Was it foolish of me to believe him when he said to me that he loved me too?

I thought long and hard, keeping my face buried in my pillow.

Then I came to a decision. I was going to talk things out with him. I was going to make him confess that he never really loved me, right from the start. That I was just a stand-in for someone that he truly loved but that for some reason he and whoever that person was had drifted apart. Yes, I was going to do just that.

I resolutely got out of bed and left the room and started to walk back to the dining hall.

Just then I heard some soft voices coming from the other end of the hallway.

I turned my head just in time to see Cooheart and someone else about to enter the very first room next to the lobby.

"Hey!" I called out, running quickly towards them.

"What do you think you're doing?" I demanded from Cooheart, grabbing his wrist, unaware that I had gripped it too tightly until I noticed the grimace of pain on his face.

I quickly let go of his wrist.

The person whom Cooheart was with turned to face me with a defiant expression.

"You're hurting him," Cooheart's companion said.

I had been expecting that person to be the same one to whom Cooheart had been talking earlier, the one who had called out to him when we were in the dining hall and had given him a tight hug. This was a different person. Just what on this miserable planet was going on???
