Nanon's POV

I was so relieved to see my close friend, Win, already at the temple lobby waiting for me.

He approached me immediately upon my arrival.

"I have already given our names to the monk in charge," he informed me. "We have been assigned to room 28. As you can see I have not showered, I wanted to wait until you got here so that I can show you where we will be staying for the night and until it's safe for us to return to our homes."

"Thank you," I said as I followed him to the room that had been assigned to us.

The door to room 28 was slightly ajar. Win knocked briefly before going inside.

"Hey guys, this is my friend for whom I said I was going to wait in the lobby," Win announced to the four other occupants in the room.

"I'm glad you were able to make it to safety," one of the guys said to me.

"Thank you," I said, clasping my hands together and bowing to him to acknowledge his kind remark.

"My friend and I will go and shower first. When we come back we can all get acquainted properly," Win said as he took out some dry clothes and towels for both of us.

"Sure," said the guy who had spoken to me.

The other guys nodded and went back to looking at their phones.

"You can take this shower stall and I will take the one next to it," Win said to me after checking to make sure that both stalls were available for use.

Somehow the shower improved my circulation and invigorated me.

Win and I finished our shower almost at the exact same time. Well, he finished maybe just a minute after me. He probably took a minute longer with shampooing his hair. I know he is a bit fussy when it comes to hair care.

I had to wait for Win to come out of his shower stall because I had forgotten how to make my way back to our room and I had forgotten what our room number was.

"What was our room number again?" I asked Win.

"Room 28, grampa," he replied.

I did some shadow boxing on him for that remark.

"You're too young to be suffering from short term memory impairment," he teased me.

"Don't tell me that it doesn't happen to you once in a while," I said frowning at him.

"Yes, actually it does," he admitted. "But I have observed that it happens only when I'm under stress or experiencing some emotional turmoil."

The mention of some emotional turmoil immediately shifted my thoughts to Ohm, that A1 certified jerk, Ohm Pawat Chitsawangdee.

We had been in a serious relationship for the past five years. We had even talked about moving in together and living as a real married couple.

Then one unexpected day, just like that, he had changed into a perfect stranger, a cold uncaring one. And for no logical explanation at all.

My mistake was not pushing for a conversation about it. I had just decided to go my own way and pretend that I never knew him.

That was close to two years ago.

Now we have totally lost contact. If on a rare occasion we happen to be in the same place we don't make eye contact.

On the outside I looked like I was not at all affected by our failed relationship but inside I was an emotional wreck.

I continue to be.

Thankfully, Win was there to keep me company on days when I needed some moral support.

I was brought back to the present when Win snapped his fingers very close to my face.

"Hey, stop it," said my ever observant friend.

"Sorry," I said. "It still happens from time to time."

"I understand," he said in a sympathetic voice.

"I'm lost," someone said from behind us. "I'm looking for room 30 but this doesn't seem to be the hallway that leads to it."

Win and I turned around to see who was talking.

It was a very wet and bedraggled person who I was a hundred percent sure made Win's heart gallop like a horse in a race track.

For those who might not know him, his name is Bright Vachirawit Chivaree. He and Win were the main couple in the BL series "2Gether"
