Chapter 13- The Boy Wonder

In front of Dick was a large grey tombstone that read: Bruce Wayne. Loved son, friend, father.

It was obvious the coffin was newly dug because of the brown dirt protruding out of the ground, rather than grass and that the quality of the tombstone was in a good condition.

Bruce should have not gone the way he did. He did many good things that no one would ever know about. He saved so many people and his name as Batman would most die with him.

Would Dick die like that? Would he die and the world would only know him as Bruce Wayne's ward?

Dick sighed looking back at the tombstone. He had already been here for about an hour and not a word had come out of his mouth.

Dick felt as if he was truly facing Bruce, and thoughts of the night he left only appeared in his mind. He had been so ignorant. He was only seventeen... And the last thing he ever said to Bruce was,' I hate you.'

Dick turned to walk away. Maybe coming here wasn't the best idea. It at seemed so at the time, but now Dick only felt worse than before. He began to walk back home and clear his mind. Tim was missing and they had no leads,  Jason and Dick kept fighting for no apparent reason, and Dick also had to become the new Batmam, thus leaving the tit-

Dick wasn't looking were he was headed and suddenly he bumped into a large metal surface. He groaned as he rubbed his head and his vision cleared after being effected from the impact.

"You okay, dude?" Dicks eyes widened as he immediately recognized the voice. Cyborg. The team was in Gotham. The Teen Titans were looking for him. Had they not read his note?

"I'm... Fine..." He muttered still rubbing his head. He needed to play dumb. They could not find out that he was Dick Grayson. He probably should tell them, but then that would lead to saying that he also couldn't go back to Jump City and that he was quitting to become Batman.

"Who are you guys?" Dick asked acting as ignorant as possible.

"The Teen Titans." Cyborg replied.

"Yup, and we are here on a important mission to find the Boy Wonder. Is he in Gotham?" Beast Boy asked quickly.

"Yeah." Dick knew exactly how he needed to play this out.

"Really?" Starfires eyes lit up," You must quickly tell us where."

"I don't know where. He's with Batman obviously and nobody knows his identity." It hurt to say the last part because it was true. The world never knew Batman was Bruce and they never would.

Then Raven approached," Which Robin are you talking about? There's two." Dick almost widened his eyes. How did she know about Tim?

"He's about yay-high," He gestured Tim's height with his hands," Looks to be about 14 maybe 13."

"Sorry, but we are looking for a different Robin."

"Oh, then I guess I'll be off." He began walking away before being stopped.

"Wait, dude, do I know you from somewhere?" Beast Boys voice called out.

"What?," Dick paused," I don't think so."

"No, I'm sure of it..." He couldn't know... Could he?

"I'm sure I do."

"Well, I don't know you."

"I got it! How did I not see it before!"

He knew...

"Fine, you fo-"

"You're Richard Grayson!"

"What? Oh, uh, yeah. That's me." He stuttered a laugh. If Dick would have kept talking he could have told the Titans about him being Robin. That was too close.

"You're Richard Grayson! I watch you all the time on the large television at the tower!" Starfire beamed. Dick nodded. If only they knew..

"Sorry about Bruce Wayne." Beast Boy spoke up. Dick didn't respond.

"I should get going. I hope you find your Robin." And with that he walked away as quickly as he could. That could have not gone any worse.

Though, why were they in Gotham? Robin left a note that said not to look for him. Had they really just ignored it? Then again, he had somewhat expected that, but the fact that they knew to look in Gotham shocked him. Yes, he spent most of his life here, but he never spoke of Gotham to the team. He didn't want to accidentally explain something and then have to end up spilling his whole life to them. They wouldn't see him the same afterward.

No one ever did.
