Treasured Gold
My tears flow stronger,
Than the blood that leaks from my veins,
Like a river unbound,
Screams washed away,
Drowning in red.
As the water consumes,
Somehow I'll still be forgotten,
My cries a faded echo,
In the paradise that you built,
One meant to be mine,
But now not even a tombstone holds my name.
I thought I was your diamond in the rough,
You treasured gold,
The silver with which you decorated your skin,
The emerald that you craved,
But in the end I was metal corroded,
My shine rusted,
No polish enough to illuminate my soul.
Suffocating, somehow I still call your name,
My mind a frenzy of questions,
Of allegations against myself,
An overview of my actions that somehow must have led me astray,
After all I was your treasured gold,
The apple of your eye,
Knowing that for you I would have surrendered my life.
