Kimmon's POV
After Dr. K and the other guy who claimed to be my manager stepped out of the room, I felt so alone and abandoned.
I grabbed the TV remote and turned on the TV that was hanging on the wall on the other side of the room. It was hung slightly above my eye level. I switched from channel to channel, not finding anything of interest.
Finally, in frustration, I turned the TV off and buried my face in my hands. I felt so alone. I needed Dr. K's company so bad.
How long were he and that guy who claimed to be my manager gonna be gone??? Dr. K had promised me that they weren't going to take too long. How could he break his promise to his patient.
Suddenly I remembered the feel of his arms around me. It felt so good. I felt so loved. I could sense from his embrace that he was a loving and caring and sincere person. I wanted to feel those arms around me once more.
I wondered if he was still single and available. He was a very good looking young doctor. It was more than likely that he was taken. Those dimples that appeared on his face every time he smiled always managed to do something to my heart. I was sure that it had the same effect on others. In fact I had noticed that already he was having an effect on my manager. I better be careful and not let myself get carried away in case he was married or in a committed relationship. The pain of unrequited love was not something that I wanted to experience.
As soon as Dr. K and the other guy came back into the room, I shamelessly gave him the cutest pout that I could make.
"You took too long!" I complained, "you said you were gonna be gone for only a few minutes!"
"But, Kimmon, I was gone for less than fifteen minutes!" he countered.
I realized that even if he was a caring doctor, he wasn't going to take any crap from his patients. I decided to change my tactics. I was going to see whether I could appeal to his sense of sympathy.
"Dr. K," I tried to make my voice as pitiful as I could, "I felt so alone while you were gone! I think I need another hug to make me feel better."
I noticed him glancing at the other guy as if asking for assistance to deal with the matter on hand but thankfully the other guy turned away as if to let Dr. K know that he didn't want to be a part of the situation, heh heh.
After a few seconds of hesitation, he walked up closer to my bed and bent forward and encircled me in his warm arms.
Call me crazy, but the for the first time since I landed on this hospital bed, I was grateful for whatever happened to me that caused me to be here, and being enveloped in the loving arms of the most good looking doctor I had the great fortune to meet.
I would have wanted the embrace to last forever but it wasn't to be.
The door suddenly burst open and the guy who had earlier claimed to be my fiance walked in, wielding a foldable bed in his muscled arms.
He took one look at Dr. K who still had his arms around me and made a menacing move towards him but the other guy who claimed to be my manager held him back.
"Newwie!" my manager exclaimed, "I have been wondering when you were going to make your appearance! You certainly took your sweet time!"
"This is not my first time to come here!" Newwie protested, "I have been here twice, and every single time Kim has turned me away!"
My manager looked at the foldable bed that Newwie was carrying.
"What are you planning to do?" he asked.
"What does it look like to you?" Newwie countered.
I decided to intervene.
"If you are planning to camp here for the night, I absolutely forbid it," I said in the most forceful voice that I could muster.
Dr. K spoke up for the first time since Newwie came in. "If my patient doesn't want your presence here, you have to leave."
"Oh yeah? So that you can have Kimmon to yourself, huh? Huh?"
My manager who had stood on one side of the room suddenly grabbed the foldable bed from Newwie's hands, opened the door and tossed it out of the room.
"Leave Kimmon right now before I toss you out the door as well," he said in a harsh tone.
Newwie turned to me, "If I leave this room right now, you will never see me again, ever. Is this what you want to happen to us? Do you really want our engagement to end this very minute?"
I looked at him wide eyed, remembering for the first time that this was the guy who had claimed to be my fiance the very first time that he had come to see me.
I turned to my manager, looking for some unspoken guidance from him. His face was unreadable.
Suddenly, Dr. K bent towards me and whispered in my ear, "Call his bluff."
