"You were incredible." Alex smiled. "Thanks. It wasn't really much though. They pay anyone to go up there and perform." Colleen says and shrugs. "Oh well. You're still amazing anyway." He beamed.

The two carefully went back to their apartment. Stairs had always been a fear for Alex and Colleen had been determined to help him with that. "Well.. I'm tired." She said as they walked in. "Alright. I'll make dinner. It'll be about five hours until Sabrina returns from her trip, though. Sad how she'll miss today." Alex said. "Miss today...? I dunno why today would be so special.." She muttered as she fell asleep.

Thirty minutes later, she was woken up. "huh...?" She says, stretching. "'You drool when you sleep.'" Alex quoted. "Oh quit with your book references." Colleen had said, a slight amused grin. "Come on. I have something to show you." He said. 

Alex grabbed her hand and walked Colleen to the dining room. It was decorated with velvet red, lilac, and pearlescent white. "Happy birthday!" He smiled. "Woah..." Colleen said. "I know you forgot, but I didn't. Your first birthday with your singing career!" He said, then brought out a cupcake. "You said you were never much of a huge cake person and that you preferred something homemade and simple?" He recalled. "I... I don't know what to say..." She said, her eyes watering up. "Oh no... what did I mess up..? What if she didn't want anything... oh god.." Alex murmured, starting to worry.

"Alex. Listen. You did nothing wrong. This is amazing. I'm just so happy right now, okay?" Colleen said and bearhugged him. "Okay." He replied. "Well... there's one more thing i would have wanted though..." She said. "Hm?" He wondered. Colleen just kissed him. "Alright. Everything is perfect now." She said. Alex just nods. "Thanks for the best birthday ever." She said.
