'OH SHIT IM GONNA BE LATE-'

I thought as I ran. I opened the door. "I'm so sorry, Amani. Really. I overslept-" I said to my boss. I worked at this cat cafe, and since it's a cat cafe, they allowed me to take my cat, Luck, to be here while I'm on my shift. I carried Luck with me and set him down. "It's fine.." Amani said. "Just, please, make sure you don't again. You may not see it, but you are one of our best workers. Now, you can start your shift." Amani said. I started work. Switching things, Taking orders, making coffee, and working the register. Work seemed mundane as usual, then I took her order. This girl had red hair in buns, a striped sweater, and a scarf. She had a fluff of fur on the table by her. "U-uh... May I take your order?" I stutter. "Oh, yeah. I'll have a croissant." She said and looked me in the eyes. "Coming right up!" I say. I dash into the kitchen and give the order, as soon as I came in, the order was complete. "Here you go." I say and give her the pastry. "Well, that was quick." She said. She ate half of it and gave the other half to the fluff ball that, on further inspection, was a hamster, which may not be the best choice considering this is a cat cafe, but that's on her. She suddenly said. "You know Am?" I nod. "She's my boss... and my sister's girlfriend." I say. "How do you know her?" "Her best friend and adopted brother is banging my twin sis." She says. "Get out," I say. "The one that looks like an emo?" "Yeah." The girl says. "I used to have a crush on him!" I say, which on hindsight, was probably not the best thing to say. She looks a bit disappointed. "Oh.." "Whats wrong?" I ask. "Nothing, I just..." she shrugged it off. I thought about it for a moment. "Oh wait, I'm pan." I explain. She looks less disappointed and more confused. "That's not what I meant-" she said. "Oh- I'm so sorry for assuming that's what you meant." I ramble. "I was joking, shorty." She smiles. "Of course I'm interested. Who wouldn't be interested in someone as kind and adorkable as you?" I blush. She writes something down on a piece of paper. "Oh, I gotta leave. Here's a tip and my number. Call me sometime." She says. "Oh, by the way, what's your name?" I ask. "Bailey, you?" She responds. "Dan." I say. "See you around, then, Dan." She takes her hamster with her and I swear I saw the hamster glare at me. I watch her walk away, lovestruck. "I ship it!" Amani laughs. "JESUS- WHERE DID YOU COME FROM-" I shout because Amani surprised me. "I was just here. That was a cute love story." "Yeah, yeah.." I say.

Later that week I take Bailey out for boba and we hang out at my house.
