FLICKER PART 2

Everyone turned their heads to look at chlorine and quickly regretted it as they saw how weird he looked.

Vinny: "Wh-what the?!" Vinny said frightened at the weird sight.

Charlie: "uuuh.."

Elaina and Annie both just stared.

Chlorine: "I know, I know. I'm very attractive. Having beauty like this is hard."

Elaina: "Uuh...Riiiight," she said with sarcasm. "Anyways, are you part of the "game"?" She asked.

Chlorine: "Yes, I suppose so. I do not know why I am here though."

Vinny: "this seems...very fishy to me."

Annie: "Did you just-"

Vinny: "Pun NOT intended."

Charlie: "Well anyways, we're down to...5 people. Or rather, 4 people and 1 fish."

Elaina: "Correct. At this point I'm not sure who to trust, but.." she looked over at Vinny, and then quickly looked away. "....Its nothing."

Annie: "But Chlorine...Why have you been hiding this whole time?" she asked, confused.

Chlorine: "Well, why WOULDN'T I hide? There's a killer in here and I don't want to become a victim..!" Chlorine quickly responded in defense.

Charlie: "You can't fool us. You have been hiding this WHOLE TIME. Why would you hide unless you are hiding SOMETHING?" Charlie asked, suspicious of Chlorine.

Elaina: "That is true. Completely avoiding investigations so that YOU wouldn't have a chance of being suspected until now.."

Chlorine: "No! I've been hiding because I don't want to end up dead!"

Chlorine: "I know I seem suspicious, but there is something I need to show you all!"

Elaina: "Show us?"

Chlorine: "Correct! I have something that may reveal who the kill-"

The lights suddenly flicked off.

Elaina: "N-no one come near me!!"

Charlie: "Stay close to me Annie!!"

Chlorine: "A-AAAAH!! STOP!! NO!!"

Vinny: "W-wait what?! Chlorine?!"

Elaina: "G-GET AWAY FROM ME!!"

The lights flicked back on.

Everyone looked around the room. The only person who was not seen was Chlorine.

Elaina: "Chlorines...missing."

Charlie: "He did freak out pretty badly when the lights were out..Could he be.."

Annie put her arms over herself and shivered.

Annie: "Is it just me or is it...S-suddenly colder in here..."

Vinny: "Wait," Vinny interrupted Charlie. He pointed to the fridge. "The.....freezer is open..." Everyone else looked over to see that the freezer was open, a cold fog coming from it.

Annie: "The freezer..? But why?" She asked, confused.

Charlie pushed Annie behind him and looked at everyone. "I'll go take a look."

Charlie made his way towards the freezer. The closer he got, the more chills he felt, not only from the cold, but from fear of what may have been inside.

Charlie opened the freezer door slowly, and after seeing the contents of it, suddenly swung it open. He gasped. Chlorines head had lied inside the freezer.

Everyone else stood in shock.

Elaina: "I-i...thought it was him...." Elaina said, her voice quivering.

Vinny: "Y-yeah me too...Oh god.."

Charlie didn't say a word, as if he was too in shock to speak. He just stared at the freezer with his eyes wide and his mouth open. Annie turned him around and walked away from the freezer with him, not letting him look back.

Annie: "I-it's alright, Charlie. Don't look at it...look away.." She said as they made it back to the others.

Vinny: "I'm actually confused..If he wasn't the murderer, then who.."

Vinny stopped his sentence, and looked over to Elaina.

Vinny: "Elaina.."

Elaina: "What..?"

Vinny: "What's that on your coat..?"

Elaina looked at her coat. She noticed there was a wet patch. She quickly became defensive.

Elaina: "W-water..? I don't understand how this got here.."

Annie: "How could water get on you..? The only place water could come from is..the bathroom or the kitchen, right?"

Elaina: "Yeah, and I haven't been in either of those.."

Vinny: "Are you SURE about that, Elaina?"

Elaina: "What??"

Vinny: "Think about it. Liza was brought to the bathroom and put into the toilet. Then, Chlorine was put into the freezer. Both areas contain water..."

Charlie: "Actually...you're right.."

Elaina: "W-wait a minute, it wasn't me, I can explain," Elaina said defensively and nervously. "when the lights were out, I felt something touch me..I don't know what, or WHO it was, but I knew it was wet!"

Annie: "I think I remember you saying something about that while the lights were out.." Annie said, as she remembered flashbacks of when Elaina shouted, "NO, GET AWAY FROM ME!!". "But..what could it have been?"

Elaina: "It could have been..Someone trying to FRAME me. It must have been, I swear I felt something touch me."

Vinny: "It honestly seems like you're getting scared, Elaina. You're trying to make it seem like you were framed. I think YOU are the one who's trying to frame someone else."

Elaina: "In case you forgot, I'M the investigator here. And if there's one thing I know, it's that I have suspected YOU from the beginning, Vinny. You always automatically agree with whoever we accuse as long as it ISN'T you, without any further input. Isn't that something a murderer would do?"

Vinny frowned. "What do you mean?? From the very beginning, Elaina has been acting as the investigator, " He said sarcastically. "Claiming that her dad just so happens to be one, and that's why we should trust her. Doesn't that seem a little too convenient?" He laughed. "Like honestly, how realistic does that sound?"

Charlie and Annie thought for a moment.

Annie: "Now that I think about it...You're right," she said while looking to the side. "Not to mention, every single time, whenever she convinces us of who it is, it ends up being wrong.." Charlie nodded.

Elaina stood there in disbelief.

Elaina: "Guys, really? Vinny completely dodged everything we threw at him just now, and switched it to me! He didn't even try to explain himself!" Elaina exclaimed with frustration, trying to convince them.

Charlie looked over at Elaina.

Charlie: "Yeah but..you never even tried to explain yourself from the beginning. When you said you would be the lead of investigating, you just said 'we'd have to take your word for it, that we could trust you."

Elaina's eyes began to fill up with tears.

Elaina: "Guys, it's not me! Vinny is trying to frame me! If you vote me out, we'll ALL be done for! Please just...Trust me!!" Elaina said clearly distressed.

Annie began shaking. She didn't know who to believe.

Annie: "I..I need a moment..." Annie said with a shaky voice. She ran into the bedroom of the apartment and slammed the door shut. She sat on the corner of the bed, sobbing uncontrollably. She felt completely trapped.

Suddenly, she heard a grunt noise. Not from outside the room though, but inside. Close to her. She looked around the room but saw nothing.

Annie: "H-hello..?" She said hesitantly. "Is someone in here..?"

Out of nowhere, a head popped out from under the bed, scaring Annie. Annie flew back, with a scream, and fell off the edge of the bed.

Annie: "Wh-who are-"

???: "Hey hey, quiet down, I won't hurt you, and before you ask, no, I ain't the killer.." The girl got up from under the bed, but not fully. It was easy to tell that she was still on her knees.

???: "My name is Elizabeth...Nice to meet you." She said as she laid her arms up on the bed.

Annie stared at Elizabeth, confused.

Annie: "Wait, how are you here?! WHY are you here?! Who..." She asked, confused.

Elizabeth: "I'm not the killer, don't worry. This all probably seems crazy, but.. I am the "Chlorine" person...Or, uh, fish."

Annie: "...What? How is that possible? Chlorine is.."

Elizabeth: "I know, you think he's dead, right? You'd be wrong. 'Chlorine' was just a costume. I was the person inside that costume."

Annie: "But how are you alive..."

Elizabeth: "The killer TRIED to get me, but failed. I was lucky to escape with mild injuries."

Annie: "I see..but, why were you in a costume..?"

Elizabeth: "I'll explain that later. Right now, I need to show you something very important."

Elizibeth pulled out what looked to be a notepad from under the bed, and handed it to Annie.

Annie: "What..is this?"

Elizabeth: "A journal.. Vinny's journal."

Annie: "Vinnies journal..? Where did you get this?"

Elizabeth: "Once you open it, everything will be revealed to you. Open it."

After a moment of hesitation, Annie opened the journal.

The journal read..

Vinny: "Day 1 at my new school...It's okay, I guess. I've been getting weird looks..is it because of my appearance?" Annie flipped a few pages.

Annie: "Vinny's...School journal..?"

Elizabeth: "Keep reading."

Annie flipped to the middle of the journal. Her eyes widened.

Vinny: "I'm so miserable..Everyone hates me. They tell me I'm ugly and that I shouldn't exist..They're so cruel.. Especially ELAINA. I HATE her."

Annies eyes widened. A rush of memories suddenly came flooding into her head.

THE MIND OF ANNIE: Vinny's Journal

There it was, the school. Not too rich, not too poor. Ordinary.

Vinny was minding his own business, walking down the hallway to get to his next class, like everyone else was. When suddenly, he was pushed, and fell back onto the floor. Above him stood Elaina, with her arms crossed. Next to her was Kees and Trey. She looked down at him with a cold glare. They all wore school uniforms.

Elaina: "Get out of my way, you're pathetic."

Vinny looked up at her.

Vinny: "I wasn't even in your way, I was walking to class. Don't push me like that."

Trey: "With that back talk, you're lucky we don't break your glasses, four eyes. Get up and get out of the way."

Kees: "Yeah! He looks like Harry potter if he had a mental breakdown!!"

Elaina: "Shut up Kees, no one likes you. Your insults suck."

Kees: "Hey don't be mean to me! Waaaaah! Waaaaaah!! I'm outta here, see ya!" Kees walked away.

They all laughed at him.

Vinny: "SHUT UP!!" Vinny yelled at Trey as he lunged towards him, in an attempt to hit him. Trey dodged and slammed Vinny into the locker, nearly knocking the breath out of him. Vinny grunted out of pain and fell onto the ground. He coughed.

Trey: "Try that again and see what happens. You're lucky I didn't do more."

Veronica and Liza suddenly appeared from the side, next to the wall. They were holding hands.

Veronica: "HAH! Honestly, what an idiot. Know your place here. You're nothing," she said while smirking.

Liza: "Sh-shouldn't we just leave him alone? He isn't in our way anymore.."

Veronica: "Hey, Liza. Take this coffee and pour it on that loser."

Liza: "B-but-"

Veronica: "Ugh, babe just do it!" She said as she grabbed Liza's hand and walked them over to Vinny. She put the coffee in Liza's hand and forced her to pour it on Vinny. Vinny tried covering himself, but it didn't do much. Coffee got all over him, and he was soaked.

Liza: "I-I..."

Veronica: "Good job babe!" she said to Liza, kissing her on the cheek. Liza blushed and smiled lightly.

Elaina: "Oh god, I hear teachers coming. Let's get out of here," Elaina said to everyone. They all walked away while giving Vinny dirty looks, and Veronica threw the coffee cup back at Vinny behind her, hitting him in the head with it.

FLASHBACK TO ANOTHER DAY:

Vinny had plans that evening. Although no one in the school exactly treated him well, there was one person he had hope in. Annie. She was quiet and didn't speak to him often, but she wasn't rude to him either. He was desperate, desperate for someone to like him or to show even the tiniest bit of kindness. Vinny knew Annie always stood near her locker after class. After class he walked up to Annie. She was holding her books and looking to the side, quiet, as usual. She noticed him and stared.

Vinny: "H-hey Annie.. How's it going..?" He said while scratching his head shyly.

Annie: "O-oh, hello Vinny. Do you need something..?" She said awkwardly.

Vinny: "I- I need to tell you something.."

Annie: "What is it..?"

Vinny: "I've been thinking...Unlike everyone else, you're pretty cool and nice to me..I feel like we have a lot in common.."

Annie: "Oh, um..that's nice.." She replied, smiling awkwardly.

Vinny: "Do you maybe..wanna..grab lunch after school..?"

Annie's eyes widened slightly and looked to the side.

Annie: "Um....I'm sorry but..I don't like you that way.."

Vinnies heart dropped.

Vinny: "N-no! Like, just as friends.."

Annie: "I'm sorry..Not to be rude but, I don't really know you..that well.."

Suddenly, out of nowhere, they both heard a voice from behind.

Veronica: "Wow, rejected just like that? That was the lamest thing ever. What a creep, she obviously doesn't like you."

Charlie came up from behind Annie, he just got out of class.

Charlie: "Hey Annie, what's up? I just got out of class. You okay?"

Annie: "Y-yeah, I-"

Veronica: "Pfft, NO, your sister is NOT fine. That creep right there has been stalking her and now he's trying to make a move on her! Talk about GROSS."

Vinnies eyes widened and Charlie glared at him, pushing Annie behind him and getting up in Vinnies face.

Charlie: "I don't know who you are, but if this is true, you better back off. Do NOT come near my sister again, you creep. She doesn't like you."

Vinny: "No wait, y-you got it all wrong, I just wanna be friends with her.."

Charlie shoved Vinny back and he fell onto the floor.

Charlie: "Give it up. Go find some other girl to creep on. DON'T talk to us again."

Vinny looked up at Annie, and she looked to the side, avoiding eye contact. They walked away.

Annie snapped back to reality. She sat silent, in disbelief at what she had just read.

Annie: "Wait.....so....we aren't strangers...? We all.. know each other...?"

Elizabeth: "Correct. Not only did you all know each other, but you all treated Vinny horribly."

Annie flipped to the last page of the journal.

Vinny: "THEY ALL WILL PAY. I HATE THEM, THEY DID THIS TO ME. I'LL MAKE THEM REGRET IT. ALL OF THEM."

Annie covered her mouth in horror.

Annie: "So he..."

Elizabeth: "Yeah. No wonder why he wants to kill you all."

Annie: "But..How were we brought here? How come I didn't remember anything before this..?"

Elizabeth: "I know it's confusing, and a lot of questions are going through your mind right now. But that part, you'll need to find out later.

Annie: "Alright, but..why are YOU here?"

Elizabeth: "I'm Vinny's sister. And I haven't been the best sister to him..I never did anything directly to him, but...I never helped," she explained.

Elizabeth: "Anyways, enough about me. Right now you need to get out there and vote. You need to make sure everyone knows what he did. If one more wrong person is voted out, you're done for, and plus.." She said while looking down. "I don't want my brother to do any more harm than he already has done. Get out there."

Elizabeth got up, and helped Annie up too.

Annie: "....Al...Alright," she said while nodding. Annie walked up to the door, and after looking back at Elizabeth, left the room.

Annie slowly opened the door and walked out of the room. As soon as the door opened everyone looked over to see her.

Charlie: "Annie!" he said as he rushed over to her. "Are you alright..?" He asked with worry in his voice. Annie looked down for a moment, then back up at Charlie. She nodded.

Annie: "Y-yeah...I just needed a moment to myself.." She replied. Charlie sighed in relief.

Charlie: "Yeah, I don't blame you...All of this just seems like a nightmare."

Elaina: "You're definitely right about that."

Vinny: "I agree, ELAINA," Vinny said while looking over to her with a glare, bluntly.

Elaina: "It's funny how when everyone else is now gone, you just NOW suspect me. You're just trying to get everyone out of the picture before you."

Vinny: "Give it up, Elaina. What happened to you being a smart investigator who makes good points and arguments? You have NO actual evidence that it's me."

Charlie stepped in.

Charlie: "While Vinny does seem suspicious, I have to agree on this one. Actual proof is more important than simple suspicions, and...we DO have evidence of it being you."

Annie became nervous. She didn't know what to say. She knew that if she explained what had just happened with Elizibeth, she would sound crazy. Either way, she had to tell them.

Annie: "I..." Everyone turned to look at Annie as she spoke. "I know who it is.."

Charlie: "What? Who?"

Annie: "It's Vinny..." Charlie looked at her in confusion.

Charlie: "But how? We have no actual proof it's him."

Annie: "I-I found something..! It's a journal.." Vinny squinted his eyes at her.

Vinny: "A journal..?"

Annie became really scared. She knew that she needed to show them evidence or else she wouldn't be taken seriously. She quickly ran over to the room where she found Elizabeth. She opened the door and looked under the bed.

Annie: "Elizabe....." she began to whisper, but came to a stop as she saw Elizabeth was no longer hiding under the bed.

Annie: "Elizabeth..?" She said as she looked around the room, trying to find Elizabeth or at least the journal itself. Neither were anywhere to be found.

Charlie walked into the room and stood by the door.

Charlie: "Annie, what are you doing?"

Annie quickly went up to Charlie.

Annie: "I-I swear it was here, I know it was..! The journal was here..I-it had proof that Vinny is the killer, he wrote in it and.."

Charlie took Annie out of the room with him.

Charlie: "Annie..I think all of this is getting to your head..Are you seeing things?"

Annie: "What?! No-"

Vinny: "It kind of seems that way, I don't know why a 'journal' would be here. How would I even have access to that? This house is basically empty."

Elaina: "You guys aren't even listening to her! It's very possible that she could have found a journal. That fish guy was hiding this whole time and we never saw him until now. It was probably hidden and she found it!"

Charlie: "There is no way a 6th person could have been in this house. The announcer themselves even said earlier that there was a 5th person, never mentioning a 6th."

The voice came on.

"CORRECT! There was only a 5th person whom you all have already met, Chlorine. No one else is in this house that you haven't seen."

Annie: "No, listen to me! It WAS that person but they were in the Chlorine costume all along!!"

Charlie grabbed Annies shoulders and looked at her.

Charlie: "Annie, Chlorine is dead. He was killed. There's no way you could have talked to him."

Annie: "I did!!"

Charlie: "Please..I know this is all getting to you and you're seeing things. This is traumatizing you, I know..." He said as he hugged her. "It's going to be okay, Annie."

Annie took a moment to think while she was silent in Charies arms. Even if Vinny was the murderer, she knew the reason this was all happening was because of them. He was treated horribly by everyone, to the point where he completely broke. He didn't want to live like that anymore, he grew so much hatred towards them because of how they treated him. He wanted revenge. This was his way of getting revenge for how they treated him.

Annie: "...Okay...."

Charlie hugged Annie tighter for a moment and then let go, looking up at Elaina with a glare.

Charlie: "It's time to put an end to this horrible game...Elaina," he started. "This whole time, we thought we could trust you, but...It's pretty clear now that we can't."

Elaina: "Your main piece of 'evidence' is that I had water on my coat, and since Chlorine died in a freezer with water it must be me?!"

Vinny: "Liza ALSO died in the bathroom, which contains water..That stain could have been there from BEFORE as well, and we just didn't notice."

The voice appeared.

"Dang, this got REALLY intense, REALLY FAST! My heart is pounding, this is like a movie!"

"Are you idiots ready to vote now? Annie sure took her sweet time taking a break, I almost fell asleep waiting."

Charlie looked down.

Charlie: "Yes.."

"Yay! Alright, you may cast your votes...Oh but, do be careful.." They said with a sinister tone. "If you mess up this time...You're really done for." It hung up, without even saying goodbye.

Everyone cast their votes, silence filled the room. Elaina said nothing, and just stared at the floor.

"The accused suspect is....Elaina." Elaina bit her lip as she heard her name, continuing to look down.

"The conclusion is....Incorrect. Elaina is NOT the murderer." Everyone's eyes opened wide, in complete shock.

Charlie: "What..?"

Elaina fell to her knees on the floor, almost as if she was lifeless, looking completely defeated. Not saying a single word.

The voice laughed.

"HAHAHAHAHAHA, you guys are SO BAD AT THIS!! Well, anyways.....Farewell, Elaina."

And with that, Elaina poofed away, not saying a thing. Annie looked down.

Charlie: "Wh....what..? But I thought..." He paused.

Charlie: "Wait...If it's not Elaina, then..." Him and Annie both looked over at Vinny. Vinny had a horrifying grin on his face.

Charlie and Annie's eyes widened.

Annie: "Charlie...I told you...it's him."

Charlie: "What..."

Vinny smiled at them both.

Vinny: "Dang, honestly I didn't expect to make it THIS far into the game without being caught."

Charlie: "You freak..So YOU killed them all?!"

Vinny: "Ah, calling me a freak. That's what you all used to do."

Charlie: "What..?"

Vinny: "Oh right...you don't remember. Oh, but Annie knows, RIGHT Annie?" He said while looking over to her. A sweatdrop went down Annies face.

Annie: "I..."

Vinny: "Ah, yes. Those were the times. You all ruined my life, and made me feel the lowest of the low, haha! But now....I'm the one who's laughing."

Annie: "Vinny, please..You don't need to do this."

Vinny: "SHUT UP ANNIE. It's too late for that now."

Charlie: "Look, I don't know what you're talking about, but I ain't letting you hurt us."

Vinny: "Oh, well Annie would be so happy to tell you! Right ANNIE? Since you feel so bad~"

Annie stood silent for a moment. Then gulped.

Annie: "In highschool..."

Vinny: "GO ON."

Annie: "I-in highschool...Vinny was the new kid, and was bullied a lot. The bullies being everyone in this house....He was treated horribly by all of us.." She looked down.

Annie: "Me and you were the only ones who didn't bully him, but...We never stood up for him.."

Vinny: "THAT'S RIGHT. Neither of you stood up for me. In fact, I remember I told you I liked you. Because you were the only one who wasn't a jerk. But you rejected me. And humiliated me."

Charlie: "Wait...I remember now. You're the freak who stalked my sister?"

Vinny: "SHUT UP. It wasn't stalking, I was admiring her from a distance-"

Charlie: "She rejected you because you're a creep. She didn't like you-"

Vinny: "SHUT UP, SHUT UP!!" he pulled out a knife. Annie and Charlie backed away.

Vinny: "The point is, I'm getting back at you all for what you did to me."

Annie: "But what about the voice-?" The voice suddenly came on.

"Well, you see...I found Vinny when he was in a dark place. I am able to sense the pain of those who want satisfaction and revenge. I reached out to Vinny, and he was more than happy to hear my offer.

An offer for him to be able to express his anger and relieve his pain. Putting all of those who caused him his misery into one room..and unleash his anger."

Charlie: "But what benefits YOU from all of this?!" He yelled, The voice chuckled.

"Oh, well...Entertainment! What else? Gotta find something to do around here!"

Annie: "You're disgusting.."

Vinny: "And so are YOU. After all that you did..You never even once bothered to help me.." He said while walking towards them with his knife. "The YEARS and YEARS of torment I endured, because of you..." He stopped in front of them.

Vinny: "I'd ask you, "how can you live with yourself?", but..Now, you don't need to. Have fun in he-"

Vinny suddenly stopped and grunted with pain. It went silent. Charlie and Annie stood there, in shock and confused. Behind Vinny was Elizibeth, who had stabbed Vinny in the back with a knife. His eyes wide and mouth open, he fell to the floor, lifeless.

"WHAT?!!" the voice yelled. Charlie and Annie stood there with horror in their eyes.

Annie: "E-Elizabeth..?" Annie said with shock. Elizibeth looked up at her and smiled.

"ELIZABETH?! You should be DEAD.."

Charlie: "Wh-whos Elizabeth? Is she gonna kill us?!"

Annie: "Elizabeth is the girl I was talking about earlier...She's Vinnies sister." Elizabeth nodded.

Elizabeth: "Correct. I was kidnapped just like you guys. I was the one in that fish costume."

Charlie: "But why?" The voice came back on.

"Vinny had no idea she was here. I told Vinny I was bringing an 'extra' person as a surprise, so I knocked her out and put her in that costume. I told her to act the role of a fish, or I would kill her on the spot. I couldn't simply have her reveal that she was Vinnies sister!"

Annie: "Why?!"

"I wanted to see the look on Vinnies face when he realized he had killed his own sister.."

Elizibeth: "Yeah, and I got away. He attacked me when the lights went out, he only wounded me. To make it seem like I died, I took the fish mask off and put it in the freezer, then hid in the other room."

The voice laughed.

"Yes, and...Elizabeth and Vinny were also twins. Which means.."

Elizabeth suddenly dropped to the floor on her knees.

"BOTH die."

She collapsed onto the floor, lifeless.

Annie: "Elizabeth!!" She said as she ran over to her body. She held her body in her arms.

Annie: "Wh-why do they both die?! Why?!"

"That's how the game works. Sorry, hehe!"

With her last ounce of strength, Elizibeth opened her eyes, and smiled at Annie.

Elizabeth: "Leave this place...Please..S-survive." And with that, she took her last breath, and her eyes closed shut. A tear rolled down Annies face.

The house suddenly started shaking.

Annie: "Huh?!"

Charlie: "What's happening?!"

"The killer was killed. The rules were bent. When the rules bend, the game is corrupted and cannot be fixed. This place will be in ruins in 1 minute."

Annie: "Wh-what?! Get us out of here, then!!"

"..Ahahahah, HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! AHAHAHAHAHAH!!"

Charlie quickly ran over to Annie and grabbed her hand and yanked her up.

Charlie: "Hurry, we need to find a way out of here, NOW."

Annie: "B-but how?!" Annie paused. "Wait. when I went back into the room, Elizabeth wasn't there..But she had to have still been in there somewhere..Follow me!!"

They both ran to the room. Annie began looking around.

Charlie: "Are you sure about this Annie?!" Annie fell down all of the floors. Including under the bed.

Annie: "Nothing.." She looked up and suddenly saw a crack in the wall. Almost perfectly square.

Annie: "THERE!!" She yelled as she pulled Charlie with her towards the wall. She pushed it, but it didn't budge.

Annie: "Crap, come on Charlie help me out here!!"

Charlie: "Okay!!" Together the both pushed the wall, as hard as they could. Finally, a square piece of the wall fell down and revealed a square tunnel.

Annie: "Yes!! Let's go!" As Annie said that, huge chunks of the building began falling faster.

Charlie: "We're running out of time!! Go!!"

They both began crawling. The noises of the building crashing and falling apart became stronger, and so did the rumbling. The more they crawled, they started to see a light from the end.

Annie: "Almost there!"

Annie looked back to see Charlie. He was crawling behind her.

Charlie: "L-let's hurry up Annie! We need to pick up the pace, this place is coming down fast and soon this tunnel will be crushed too!!"

Annie looked back forward and went faster towards the end of the tunnel. The light was so close, they were almost there.

Suddenly, chunks of rubble started to fall in front of Charlie.

Annie looked back in a panic.

Annie: "Charlie!!" She cried. Charlie quickly shoved the chunks out of his path and began crawling again.

Charlie: "Keep going, don't stop! keep going!!"

Hesitantly, Annie continued crawling, going as fast as she could. The house began shaking extremely violently.

Annie began crying.

Annie: "I-I'm scared, Charlie I'm scared!"

Charlie: "It's okay Annie, you'll make it out of here, I'll protect you!"

Annie made it to the end of the tunnel, but right as she was about to exit,giant chunks of rubble began falling in the path. One fell on Charlie's back.

Charlie: "Agh..!!"

Annie: "Charlie!!" She cried out. She turned around and tried to get the rock off of him, it was too heavy.

Annie: "Ch-Charlie it won't budge, it won't budge!!"

Charlie: "Annie you need to get out of here NOW!! Go, now!!"

Annie: "NO ARE YOU CRAZY...I CAN'T LEAVE MY BROTHER..."

Charlie: "Annie, listen to me...I love you so much. If I can't get out of here....I at least want you to. Please..."

Annie: "CH-CHARLIE-"

Charlie suddenly shoved Annie with all his strength, sending her stumbling out the tunnel, into the outside world. She lied there, on a fresh patch of grass for a second. Her eyes went wide. She couldn't believe she finally made it out. But she realized Charlie was still in there.

She quickly rushed to go back inside to help him, but her eyes widened, at the site of the tunnel being completely blocked off by rubble. The entire entrance was blocked.

Annie looked around, and her eyes went completely wide as soon as she realized; Charlie was not with her.

Annie: "Ch...." She looked around again.

Annie: "Charlie...?"

.....

She stared blankly at the blocked off entrance, then without a moment's hesitation...

Annie: "CHARLIE!!!"

She immediately began digging at the rubble, doing anything possible to move it, desperately trying to find Charlie, her dear brother.

Annie: "Charlie, Ch-CHARLIE!!!" Her eyes filled with tears and she began sobbing.

Annie: "Charlie...ahh...." She finally realized...she was not able to remove the rubble. Charlie... was gone.

Annie got on her knees and laid her head on the grass.

Annie: "Charlie....Charlie...*sniff*....brother...why..." laying there, on the grass, she sobbed uncontrollably for what seemed like an eternity. Overcome with grief, Annie cried until she could cry no more, and passed out.

YEARS LATER:

After Annie had woken up, she walked for hours until she eventually saw a car, waved and cried for help. The car thankfully stopped, a nice woman in the front seat. She told them to bring her to her home, and the woman did. Annie never spoke to anyone about what happened that day, not a single soul. Not like anyone would believe her insane story anyways, she thought.

Just like that, despite knowing everything that happened, she continued with her life as if it never happened, and years passed.

When anyone asked about Charlie, she told them he had moved to a different country to start a new life and find better opportunities for his future, and that she missed him dearly and preferred not to speak of it. No one questioned it. Charlie and Annie were not well known by many to begin with, as they both always kept to themselves.

One day, Annie went to the bookstore in search of a new novel to keep her mind off things. She found it much easier to drown herself in books rather than deal with the cruel realities of life. After a while of searching, Annie stumbled across a book that caught her eye.

Annie: "Huh, what's this one..." She said as she took the book from the shelf and turned it around. The title of the book was...

Annie: "Flicker, huh?" Annie thought to herself. A rather interesting title. She felt drawn to this book somehow, and decided it would be the one she picked. Taking the book with her to the counter, she set it down and started shuffling through her purse.

Annie: "How much?" She asked the store cashier as she prepared to gather the money. The store employee looked up and smiled at her.

???: "Oh, Annie! Long time no see huh?" They asked. For a split second, Annie felt confused. The voice sounded so familiar yet she did not know who this person was.

Annie: "Um...sorry if this sounds rude, but do I know you? You do sound familiar."

???: "Ah, I'm so happy you at least remember my voice," Said the cashier.

"The name's Vinny!"
