Dan gaped at the screen, and then slowly turned to gape at Scott. But Scott wasn't watching, he was just staring ahead at the screen, where they'd displayed a photo of Scott and Vincent together, laughing.

"Vincent," he whispered, feeling the way his lips moved as he said it. "His name was Vincent. I remember..."

"The police are imploring anybody with information on where this man may be now to come forward."

Scott turned to look at Dan, who instantly shied away. "I won't say anything, I swear! Oh gawd, please don't kill me!"

Scott frowned, and then the full weight of what he'd heard before came crashing down on him.

They thought he was the murderer.
They were coming to find him.
They would prosecute him, maybe even sentence him to death.

Scott felt his body run cold and his breathing quicken. The world around became blurred and seemed completely unreal. Everything seemed to swirl around crazily and the walls were closing in. He jumped to his feet in a blind panic. "I didn't kill them! I didn't kill him! I swear!" He shouted, feeling as if he were already on trial. "I've never laid a hand on anyone in my entire life!"

"Calm down, calm down!" Daniel said, looking around nervously. "Else the entire neighbourhood will hear you. Look, I believe you, alright?! You didn't kill anyone. I get it! Now calm down!"

Scott's breathing was still laboured, but the world swam back into focus. "You believe me?"

Daniel nodded, "I believe you. I mean, look at you. You're not exactly your regular serial killer."

Scott sighed, sinking back into the chair. "Good. I'm glad you're not against me."

The door slammed open and Chris walked in. "Okay, am I going crazy? Or is my best friend a child murderer!?"

"Chris? What are you doing here?" Scott asked, still coming down from his panic attack.

"I'm here for answers, Scott, and you've got about 3 minutes before I call the police."
