18.Ramsay
My father Roose and the Commander of the Bolton army stood around the council table. The plan was laid out before us but yet the feeling of defeat cut through the room.
I closed the door behind me, looking down at the table with the flayed men figures on top.
"What is so important that I must leave my breakfast early?" I raised my eyebrow, "I was having a lovely meal"
Roose chuckled, but his eyes were bloodshot and furious. His voice was angry and nervous as he leaned in on the table "There are, in fact, rumors I'd like to discuss with you, my son. Some I thought you ought to know"
I nodded, remaining calm as I poured myself some wine. "Go ahead father,"
This did not make him any happier "Are you aware that Sansa Stark has fled Kings Landing?"
I paused "... Why, I don't recall being told, no"
He clenched his jaw, "I didn't think you would. Do you know where she is headed now?"
I tapped my fingers on the table, "To help Stannis take over Wintefell? Because that's not really a very intelligent move considering that Stannis will loose-"
"SHE IS TRYING TO UNITE THE HOUSES OF THE NORTH AGAINST US, RAMSAY!" Roose slammed his hands on the table. In a lower tone, after shooing his Commander out of the room, he asked "Have you no idea what that could mean?"
"That the North can unite against us in an attempt to take back Winterfell," I crossed my arms "Yes, I know what that means. But they won't win, they won't even start the war"
"And how do you know that?" He gave me a look, "The Northerners have no sympathy for me or you!"
"No but they do for Edda," I reminded him, "And if we prove to them just how happy Edda is here then they will leave her alone"
"Will it be like the Red Wedding?" Roose's eyes grew wide.
"Please father," I gave him a crooked smile, "Death is not the easiest way to deal with everything"
"Yet it does cut out the weeds in your garden" he laughed.
"Not as much as fear of death," I said, tapping a flayed man figure "Invite the heads of the noble houses to my wedding, father. Every one of them. In fact, give a special invitation to Sansa Stark. She will have to come after she receives the letter"
"I leave that to you," Roose said, pleased. However before I left he stopped me and warned, "Son... If you do not make Edda Stark into the perfect Lady Bolton I will have no choice but to do it myself, understood?"
I gave him a confused look. Was that a threat?
Anyhow I walked away, hoping he knew what happened to any man who dare threaten me or Edda.
