Flashback in italics

In hospital,
Khushi is staying with Arvind in the hospital as per their arrangement.
"You know beta, Arnav was such a naughty kid...it was like he had wheels on his legs. Ratna used to ran after him when he started to walk. Sometimes, we wondered that he will become an athlete in the future seeing him running around." Arvind told to Khushi who was cutting the apple for Arvind.
"That's interesting uncle. Aunty would had a difficult time managing him." Khushi smiled and gave him the apples.
"That's right beta. Ratna used to tell that running behind him made her lose all the baby fats." Arvind said having the apple.
"He drove you mad, doesn't he?"
"Sometimes when he was a kid. Let me tell you an incident. He was 6 years old at that time. It was some holiday and he was out playing with kids. Around 5 in the evening, our neighboring boy told that Arnav went missing. They were playing hide and seek and nobody no where he was. We all searched everywhere, called out his name. Everybody in our area where looking for him. 3 hours went like that, for me it was like 3 years. I was going mad, arnav was my only hope and we couldn't find him." Arvind paused.
"How did you find him then?"
"We didn't find him, instead he came there. What happened was, there is a garage in our area, he hide in an old car and fell asleep."
"OMG, you were all going crazy while he was sleeping without knowing that." Khushi asked.
"Yes, that's the summary."
"How did you react to that?"
" I still regret how I reacted to him. That's the first I raised hands on him. Losing him was my worst dream and in anger, I beat him....with a cane...and my arnav stood there not knowing why I'm hitting him."

Arvind recalled that day,

A six year old arnav asked his father not to hit him. He cried tried to protect him self from the cane that inflicted pain on him. Their neighbors somehow stopped Arvind from hitting arnav. When arvind stopped it, arnav ran towards his home and fell on the bed crying.
Arvind realised what he have done to arnav and walked towards his house with a heavy heart.
He reached his home and heard his son sobbing.
He felt like a failure....he failed as a father...he failed in front of his wife Ratna.
Arvind stood in front of Ratna's pic hanging his head down.
'I failed to be a good father go our son ratna. Because of me our son is in pain and crying.' Arvind slump down crying. He don't have the courage to face his son. Arvind sat there for hours and later her went to Arnav's room to check him out.
Arvind found him sleeping on his bed. He sat next to arnav and ran his hands on the bruises. It pained him a lot to see those bruises on arnav's body. Arvind felt Arnav getting awake.
"I'm sorry papa...I will be a good boy...please don't hit me." Arnav told in his little voice which undone arvind who hugged arnav and cried.
"No beta, its me who did the mistake. I'm sorry for hitting you. Please forgive your papa. When I don't find you for hours I thought I lost you. You are my everything arnav...your papa only have you." Arvind kissed arnav's forehead.
"Is it paining beta?" Arvind asked.
"A little" arnav confessed.
Arvind went outside the room and came back with a bottle.
"I will apply this oil and the pain will go away soon." Arvind said opening the bottle. He applied it on the bruises carefully.
"I'm sorry beta...so sorry..." Arvind told arnav.
"That's ok papa."
To make him happy, Arvind suggested
"How about we have dinner outside today?"
"I'm ready..." Arnav said with utmost happiness.
Son and father went to the near by dhabha, had a lot of food and came back.
"Today, we will sleep together." Told arvind, arranging Arnav's bed.
The son- father duo get into the bed, arvind hugged arnav and stroked his head.
"Papa, you know Abhay told me that maa left us because I'm a bad boy. Is that true papa, am I a bad boy? Will maa come back if I become a good boy?" A confused arnav asked arvind.
Arvind was shocked to hear that.
"Beta, you are a good boy....my little arnav will never be a bad boy. Regarding your maa, do you know about angels arnav?"
"Yes...they have wings and love children."
"Your maa was an angel. She loved you a lot....a lot mean even more than i loves you. Angels are close to god, so one day god called her back and she had to go. She told me look after you and love you. She told me to tell you that she loves you a lot. If you have any problem, you can tell that to her. Your maa will be there to hear you."
"So I'm a good boy and maa loves me a lot. Will she come back to us papa?"
"Those angels who went back to god can't come back beta...but they can see us...hear us ...but we cannot. You know at night they will shine in the sky and smile at us. That's why we gaze at the stars at night. So never think that you are a bad boy, that will hurt me. My arnav is a good boy...a very good boy."
"I'm a good boy and you are the best papa in the world." Arnav said wrapping his little arms around arvind and kissed his cheek. Hearing him saying that brings immense joy to his heart.
Arvind kissed on his forehead and both of them slept peacefully.

Tears pooled in Arvind's eyes.
"Uncle...you are behaving like a kid. You did that on an impulse...your fear made you do that." Khushi said wiping Arvind's tears.
"After that incident, I have never raised my hands on him again." Arvind told Khushi.
"That means he have been a good boy all these time." Khushi asked.
"Yeah...but when he gets angry...no one can control him. When he was in his teens, he used to fight a lot."
"Why?"
"When someone say something about me, he lose everything and the person will be on the floor soon. I tried to make him understand, but still he couldn't control that. After a lot of effort, I somehow managed that."
"Everybody gets angry when other's talk bad about their loved one's. I can't blame Arnav in this. If I were in his place, I would have done the same."
"Supporting your man, isn't it?" Arvind raised his eyebrow.
"No...I was stating the fact."
"Ok...I got it..."
That's when arnav came there.
"Haii, So what are you both talking about?" Arnav asked both of them.
"We were discussing about writing a book." Khushi told him.
" '100 ways to drive everyone mad' is it the title of the book? You both can make it a best seller." Arnav teased her.
"No...sorry to disappoint you...it is a book on '100 ways to irritate Arnav Singh Raizada', isn't the title cute?" Khushi asked
"It is perfect Khushi beta." Arvind complemented her and they high-fived to which arnav rolled his eyes.
"Unbelievable" arnav muttered to himself.
"Khushi beta, now go and take care of your restaurant... I can't wait to dine there."
"Bye...uncle take care of yourself....Arnav, I have give him lunch and medicine... Your lunch is here, have it later. See you soon." Khushi bid bye from there.
"How are you papa?"
"I'm good...your Khushi fed me so much...when it is about feeding food she is worse than you."
"I know that." Arnav said with a smile.

After a week Arvind got discharged.
Arnav reached shantivan with Arvind and Khushi.
"Arnav where are you taking me???"
"You are not perfectly alright...so till then you are staying with me in my room." Arnav lifted Arvind in his arms...
"Khushi, please follow me."
"Arnav put me down...you are embarrassing me in front of Khushi beta"
"My Khushi won't feel like that... Isn't it Khushi?"
"Yeah...uncle you don't need to worry about it..."
Arnav made Arvind lie on the bed.
Khushi noticed how everything is constructed so that Arvind can access everything. Arvind saw her looking around...
"Don't you think that this room is bit dull....??"
"The room is nice... But could have some more colours..."
"Yeah, I too feel that...may be in future we can add colours." Khushi understood what arvind is trying to convey.
"Ji uncle"
"Arnav ...I feel sleepy... You take Khushi and show around the house..."
"No uncle ...no need for that... We will be ok here"
"Beta if I need something I will call you or I will ask HP. Don't worry about me. I will be fine. Arnav take her to the lawn and show her the garden. Both of you go from here and let me sleep peacefully." Arvind teased them
Arshi walked to the lawn
Arnav showed her the garden, the plants which his mom planted.
"Arnav your house is beautiful.... And errrr...big too...Not like mine... I mean it is big but this is bigger than that."
"Are you complaining or complimenting?" Arnav asked her
"Hmmm... Yeah...err... Complementing."
"Khushi I know what is going in your mind now, this size and all doesn't matter. Do you know what is the biggest different between our houses?"
Khushi stood there clueless.
"Your house is a home ... while mine is just a house built of brick and mortar
There is love... care...togetherness in your house and that makes it a home. Your family makes it a home and here its just me and papa... Its like a roof over our head... May be in future I can call it home..."
"We will make it a home..." Khushi said understanding his unsaid words.
"I know we will..." Arnav pecked her forehead
Following days, Arnav took care of Arvind by work from home.
If he have to go to AR, he will also take Arvind with him. Khushi and her family used to visit them. Her family was also left speechless by seeing his house, like Khushi they too had their worries which Arvind understood.
To make them understand Arvind told them about his life, how he and ratna lived in a small house in Kolkata. It was just house consist of a hall and a room. Then in Delhi, they got a decent house in lekshmi nagar. Hearing about his past Nandhini hugged Arvind and blessed him. Shashi realised that he couldn't ask for a better man for his Khushi.
Finally Arvind is perfectly fine.

On a sunday
Arnav is working on his laptop in the hall and Arvind sat next to him watching the TV.
The bell rang and they wondered who it will be.
HP opened the door, suddenly someone ran inside and hugged Arvind
"Are you ok??? These people didn't tell me anything." Saying this NK started inspecting Arvind.
"Nk beta I'm fine...perfectly alright now"
"Bhaiii..." They saw Akash entering the room calling his name.
"When NK came to know about it he wanted to see mausaji and I had to bring him here." Akash explained
"That's ok Akash... How is everyone there?" Arnav asked himm
"Everybody is good. We didn't told them about mausaji's accident as per your wish."
"That's good...I don't want them to get worried unnecessarily"
"Nannav...mere Bhai....you didn't even call me.... I would have come and looked after phuphaji" NK complained
"That's ok nk. First you sit here..."
Arnav made him sit besides Arvind
"Nannav do you have my number....?"
"Hmm...you didn't give me your number?"
"Ok... Type it and give me a missed call."
Arnav did as he told him
Nk's phone rang, they heard the loud ringtone 'Tum hi ho...tum hi ho...' song
"Don't cut the call nannav...let it ring..."
Saying this NK kept looking at his phone.While tears formed in his eyes.
"I like this song." Nk told them. They can understand his feelings.
Nk wiped it and asked Arvind and Arnav.
"Do you guys mind if I stay here for some days? Yeah, but don't expect me to stop drinking....I will drink...I will drink till I loss my consciousness."
Arvind looked at Arnav and nodded his head.
"Yeah... You can stay with us."
Nk hugged Arnav and said...
"nannav you are the best."
"What about me beta???" Arvind asked him
"You are my hero... You comes first, then only Nannav."
"Arnav do you have any servants here? can you ask them to take my luggages inside?"
Arnav asked HP to bring NK's bag.
"Hey buddy...handle it carefully...They are my life savers."
Nk told HP who took hold of NK's luggage
"Careful...give it to me..."
Nk was about to grab that but Arnav took it and kept it in the floor
"Awww...nannav...your so sweet...."
That's when Khushi came there. She was surprised to find a new figure and said hai to everyone.
"Hmm...I can go if you all are busy."
"No...no Khushi... Come...let me introduce you to someone... This is nandkishore... My mother's brother's son." Arnav introduced Khushi to Nk
"Nk...this is Khushi... My...." Nk didn't let him finish
"I know...know...she is my soon to be bhabhi.... I heard Anjali di talking to Akash about you... No, it is not bad things... I guarantee you that."
After a pause NK continued
"Nannav can you put your hands around Khushiji pls."
"Why?"
"Just do it Nannav"
Arnav pulled Khushi closed to him and put his hands around her.
"Arre wahh... Kya kamal jodi hai..." (What an awesome pair it is)
Saying this nk started walking around them singing
"Wahha..wahha ramji jodi kya banayi...bhaiyya aur girlfriend ko bhadhai ho bhadhai..."
"Stop it nk..." Arnav told him
"Yeah... I know that I'm a terrible singer" NK made a sad face.
"No...you sang well nandkishoreji."
Khushi complemented him. She know about nk as Arnav already told her
"No...no...no nandkishoreji at all...just nk...."
"Hmm...what about nanheji???"
"Nanheji!!! Cool but not cool as NK....but ok...special privileges to soon to be bhabhi"
"Nannav, phuphaji, I want to sleep... Where is my room?"
"The guest room is over there...." Arvind told him
"Ok...and Akash, if that Hitler call you and ask you about me...tell him that I run away with that Natasha... don't you dare tell him the truth..." Saying this nk went to the room...
"Nannav please bring my luggage to my room." Nk shouted from the room, lying down on the bed.
"Who is Natasha Akash beta?"
"She is sheetal's bestfriend..."
Arnav rolled his eyes and shook his head hearing this
"Bhai.... Staying with nk is not an easy job... at nights he gets out of control and screams." Akash warned them
"That's ok Akash...I think we can manage him for a couple of days"
"Ok Bhai...I have to go now....take care mausaji...see you soon Bhai and Khushiji" Akash left from there.

It was Khushi who broke the silence.
"How is my favorite man???" She asked sitting next to Arvind.
"Beta.... I'm perfectly fine. How can i not be fine when his eyes are fixed on me for 24 × 7?"
"That's so good. We can have fun together now."
"Beta, Do you smell something...? Something...err someone is burning...? Arnav is that you?" Arvind teased him.
"Stop it papa..." Arvind laughed at him
"How is everyone at home, beta? Do tell khush to come here and give me some company. This man is always busy with his wife neglecting this poor papa." Arvind pouted pointing the laptop.
"We have to do something with his wife uncle..." Khushi told him acting serious.
"Yeah... We should."
"For both of your knowledge... I'm still here." Arnav informed them.
"Omg.... You are still here...uncle did you heard that...he is still here..." Said Khushi putting an exaggerated expression. Arnav shook it head and moved towards his room while Arvind and Khushi high-fived

They both talk for some time.
"Beta go and cajole that lover boy..."
"Ji uncle..."
When Khushi entered his room, Arnav is still working on his laptop.
"Still busy with your wife...?" Khushi pouted.
"You don't love me at all..." Saying this Khushi turned around to walk away, but felt a tag on her hand.
"I think I should show you how much I love you." Saying this Arnav pressed her to the wall...caging her between the wall and his body. He ran his finger all over her face...neck and arms.

"Should I show you more...? It was just a teaser baby." Arnav whispered in her ear. Khushi shook her head
"Is it a yes? Or...is it a no?..." Saying this he started kissing her....he kissed her forehead, eyes, cheeks and the corner of her lips. He trailed kisses to her neck, pulling her close to him by waist. She can feel his body touching her intimately. When he was about to kiss her on lips she pushed him and they fell on the bed with her on top of him.

"Already so eager to take everything to bed...? Should I need to worry about my virtue???" Arnav teased her which made her eyes to pop out.
Arnav winked at her and said
"Just teasing you...."
Khushi started tickling Arnav and he flipped her, him hovering over her body.
They were lost in each other's eyes, they felt each other's breathe on their faces. Khushi looked at his lips and wetted her lips. Arnav lean closer to her lips and suddenly withdrawn closing his eyes. He helped her getting up from the bed.
"Wht happened Arnav...? Why did you pulled away... Did I do....?" Her words were interrupted by him.
"No...no Khushi... I desire you a lot baby... I don't know if I will be able to control myself.. What if we keep on going...I don't want that"
Arnav cupped her cheeks
"I want our first time to be special.... Perfect and magical...when you will be mine in all sense...and I will wait till that day..." Arnav said kissing her forehead
"I love you sooo much Arnav"
"How much???" He teased her.
"This much..." saying this Khushi brought her thumb and index finger together leaving a small space in between.
"Only that much???" Arnav pouted
"May be a lit more than that..." Saying this Khushi hugged him
"Arnav...you know nanheji is sooo innocent...."
"Innocent???"
"Yeah...he is like a child whose favorite thing had been snatched away from him...When you went to Lucknow... I missed you so much... Then how can nanheji tolerate losing his love?? We should do something for him...." Khushi told him remembering about their little separation.
"For that he should stop drinking." Arnav suggested
"May be uncle and you can make him understand."
"Yeah...let me talk with papa..."
"You both come to my restaurant with nanheji when he is normal. May be change of environment will work on him."
"Ok...I will try to bring him." Arnav promised her.
"I have to go now...bye."
Saying this Khushi pecked his lips.
She bid bye to Arnav and Arvind.
