2 weeks later

It's been two weeks since I've been here at evergreen and I really like it no drama no fuss just me and my new group of friends.

I arrive at school today and head to my locker to drop some books. I sight max talking to Harry his dimples out and his effortless smile I've grown a liking to max but I've made up my mind not to get to close to dating him.

He broke up with Maddie a week ago so we've been spending time of recent and he's not as bad as I thought.

He spots me and immediately walks up to me I immediately form a frown just because.

Max " Morning Hannah "

Hannah " Hey max what's up "

Max " can you meet me in the theater later today "

Hannah " weird place for a jock like you to want to meet up "

Max " just come their after school "

Hannah " sure I will "

He smiles and walks way I don't think into it but I text ana incase she'll look for me after school.

First three periods go by like a breeze and I'm hoping that the rest of school will be like that. I head to the cafeteria and join ana and Johnny. I overhear them discussing something before I plop a sit next to Johnny.

Hannah " Hey guys what's up "

Johnny " just talking about the schools vending machines "

Ana " Yeah we really hate the snacks "

Hannah " okay so y'all are obviously lying what are y'all really talking about "

Johnny " Ana thinks max is gonna ask you out "

I choke on my turkey sandwich a bit before I gulp down a bottle of apple juice.

Hannah " why would you think that?? "

Ana " well he asked you to meet him at the theatre after school weeks after breaking up with Maddie "

Johnny " And you guys have gotten close "

Hannah " it still proves nothing "

Ana " We're just saying Hannah what will happen if he does "

I open my mouth to answer but just then we're interrupted by Max taking a sit near Ana .

Max " if who asks what ?"

Hannah and Ana " ( in unison ) nothing "

Max " Okay...we still on for later today right "

Hannah " Yeah I'll be there "

Max " see you then freshmen "

I hate that he calls me that for some unknown reason.

He walks out of the cafeteria leaving all there of us in thought.

I assure myself that nothing is going to happen and hope for the best.

After school I skeptically walk into the theatre it's dark and I can barely see anything I only hear a guitar strumming and a voice following it.

The voice was heavenly I was in a musical trance max appears from the darkness and comes towards me. For a moment I couldn't talk but then I remembered who I am I don't fall for boys no matter what.

Hannah " what is this max "

He steps back and frowns a bit and for a minute I like it knowing that I haven't let my guard down.

Max " I know your a good singer "

Hannah " How do you know that " 

Max " I was on your Instagram and I saw Some old videos of you singing "

Hannah " oh thanks I guess "

Max " Would you wanna do a duet with me Friday night "

Hannah " where would that be? "

Max " It's an open mic night downtown "

Hannah " I'll get back to you about it tomorrow "

Max " Sure can I drive you home "

Hannah " sure thanks " 

We arrive at my house and the first thing I see is my older brother washing my mom's car and I didn't even have to come out of the car to meet him because he came straight to the window shirtless and dripping with water.

Alexander " Hello young man who are you "

Hannah " this is my friend Max "

Alexander " hello max glad to see you driving my sister very thoughtful " 

Max " Hello sir "

Hannah " okay detective Conan "

I open the door to leave and my mom comes out of the house with a woman who I didn't know existed,I know this isn't going to end well.

Hannah " uhm who is this mom "

Mom " I could ask you the same question "

" Don't be mean young man come join us for a snack inside I insist "

Max " uhm sure thing ma'am"

I could tell he was uncomfortable but I was more concerned on the lady.

Hannah " well "

Mom " this is my sister Layla and your aunt "

Hannah " Oh hi aunt Layla "

I say with a confused look and immediately walk up the stairs and into the house. Alex stays outside but my mom and my apparent aunt follow in with max.

I take out to two soda cans and give one to max he uncomfortably takes it and I volunteer to lead him out immediately not before my aunt makes me a very awkward comment.

Layla " Pleasure meeting you I never knew Hannah had a boyfriend "

Hannah " he's not my boyfriend "

I say and quickly lead him out the door.

Max " it was fun meeting your family though "

Hannah " sorry for the awkwardness it's unlike them "

Max " I know maybe someday I'll meet them the right way "

Hannah " At a funeral or a wedding ? "

Max " Sure at a funeral "

Hannah " I'll see you later then "

Max " see you around freshmen "

He winks and gets in his car and drives off.
I don't know why but something is really wrong with this sudden closeness I have with max.
