CH 18 — Festival

2nd POV

It has been days before the week of festival season in Inarizaki finally arrived.

Your eye is now completely healed, it shined brighter. After the encounter at the court — the boys made sure to keep a close eye on you to avoid the recent incident from happening again. Kita was as caring as ever albeit being overprotective but then again it's his nature. Aran, Omimi, your seniors have given you some snacks the next time they saw you at practice. Akagi shared some knitted flowers and Gin gave you one tub of fav/flavor ice cream since he didn't know what to give. He paled when Omimi told him he should've given you at least three. You felt embarrassed because you thought he was joking, but he actually gave you three more tubs the next day.

You felt really lucky to have such caring guys look out for you.

That said, you felt really shit the moment you woke up.

After the public apology, your classes held a meeting and chose what theme to do at the festival. What made it worse is the fact that what was chosen was cliché. It was a Maid Cafe, majority voted. Though it isn't a typical serve some omelettes using maids — it was something that required more cosplay.

You turned your head to the side as you saw the styled wig that is colored pink then to the maid uniform that hangs on your door.

I hate my life... I think.. You frowned.

Sighing, you willed yourself to stand up and fix your bed. You texted the twins that you won't be walking to school with them today since you need to be early for your booth. They don't know what theme you were doing — mostly because you didn't want Suna to tell them.

After getting ready you immediately went down to eat some light breakfast which consisted of a large bowl of ramen and one jasmine tea. You brushed your teeth after eating and sighed for the nth time as you fixed the wig on your head.

The makeup was decent, your graded contact lenses that are colored a slightly darker baby blue felt fresh, you uncomfortably tugged on the hem of the puffy skirt that stopped below your butt, and did a slow spin in your doll shoes with a few inches of heels in them.

You really looked like a different person, you were completely dolled up.

I hope I don't embarrass myself for 1 week straight.

The front door was knocked as your mother squealed in excitement, you panicked as she went to open the door when you were still checking yourself in the mirror to make sure you looked alright.

"Mama!-"

The door swung wide open as your mother immediately pulled a surprised Suna in. He sweatdropped and felt nervous while your mother ushered him to sit and try some of her brewed tea.

Suna hesitantly took a sip. As his eyes turned to you, he immediately spit out the drink.

"Was that supposed to be offensive?" You frowned as you walked to him with your shoulder bag.

"Y-You look...," He stammered.

"Aaaah!! Young love, quickly Sushi — smile for the camera!" Your mother raised her phone and hugged both you and Suna. His eyes widened as he raised his hand to do a peace sign while your chest was almost dangerously close to his face.

"Sushi," Suna stopped himself from laughing.

"Mama! Please calm down!" You cried out, "He's not the one I'm talking to you about.."

She blinked and shrugged, "Oh, oki. Who is this fine man?"

Suna stood up and slightly bowed to her, "Good morning, Notabe-san. I'm Suna Rintaro, Sukii's classmate. She's my manager in our volleyball club."

"My, how tall you are!" She giggled then turned to you with a teasing smile, "Sukii, are you sure you don't want to date Rintaro-kun here?"

"Mama, please. We need to be early," You sighed, tired. Suna shot you a teasing smirk to which you just jabbed his arm at. She laughed one last time and opened the door for you and Suna.

"Thank you for driving us today, Notabe-san," Suna said, opening the backseat door for you.

"Oh, please. Call me Kanae," She smiled as she entered the driver's seat. Suna smiled back as he sighed, sitting down beside you with his bag on his lap.

"Pft," You quietly giggled as you looked at Suna who wore a butler suit with his hair sleeked back.

"Don't start, Kii," He glanced at you up and down before looking away, "Just because you look perfect doesn't mean you can shit on my attire."

"I think you clean up pretty well, dear sir," You whispered teasingly and laughed when he blushed.

"Shut up, Madame," He hissed sarcastically.

Your mother kept giggling while driving.

About a few minutes later, you both arrived school. Anxiety was a loud noise that threatened to jump out of your heart when Suna got out from his side and held his hand out to you.

You smiled as you got out, he took your bag and held it instead, along with his assigned suitcase that the males of class were told to use.

Both of you kissed your mother on the cheek before waving.

"I'll visit after work later at lunch okay? Have fun kiddos!" She gleefully said before taking off.

"Your mother is like you but like...," Suna muttered.

"... She's more open, carefree, and incredibly hyper," You finished off for him. He nodded and sighed before the both of you started to walk in the school grounds.

Stares, whispers, murmurs.

Amazement. Interest. Lust. Satisfaction.

You closed your eyes as you grabbed the sleeve of Suna's blazer. He noticed your discomfort and slipped his gloved hand in yours.

"I'm here," He softly said as you finally reached your designated classroom. You sighed in relief, comforted by Suna's presence.

"Alright, you trash-looking people. Get to work!" Suna ordered to your classmates. The maids prepared theirselves as the designated chefs proceeded to cook a variety of food. Somehow, the class made fun of Suna by making him the class president — he didn't mind though, he liked ordering people around to do his tasks.

Yummy... You gawked at the food they were plating and displaying.

"Kii, drooling," Suna hummed as he went past you to entertain customers who entered the door.

You jumped in awareness and gulped, slightly bowing him before tending to customers.

"You're really pretty, chick. Mind if I get ya number?" A senior flirted as he suggestively wiggled his brows while waving his phone at you.

You bit your lip and he smirked wider.

You smiled, "May I get your order, Master?"

He laughed, "One omurice for me and my brother over here, and could I have you for desert?"

An irk popped on the side of your forehead.

"Woah, woah, woah. Yo, pay up before you order, man."

Suna walked over to you and slung his arm over your shoulder, "She's not for sale, by the way."

"What are you, her boyfriend?" The guy scrunched his nose in annoyance.

"Nah. But at the end of the day, I have better chances with her than you," He smirked and placed two plates of omurice in front of them, the plates and utensils clanged at the harsh impact.

The guy growled but stopped when you raised your hands into hearts in the air and made a cute little dance, "Moe, moe, kyun!"

He and his friend blushed. You placed your hand on top of his shoulder, "Eat well."

His eyes widened as he grunted when you put pressure on his shoulder. He swore he heard his chair crack a little. You went away with Suna, smiling.

"You're too cute when you do that. I should raise the prices. After all, higher quality higher money," Suna snickered as he changed the prices of the menu.

"What is this inflation?" You laughed in amusement before going back to the customers.

Several people from the other clubs visited, as well as the outsiders of the school. You frowned, your mother didn't make it.

It was time for the reserved books of some sports club. In order, the maid cafe will be visited by: Badminton Club, Archery Club, Soccer Club, Basketball Club, and then Volleyball club.

The Badminton Club was filled with chill people. You kept blushing as their girls compliment you every minute.

The Archery Club was filled with stoic people, with one exception as he almost fainted when you did the magic spell on the omurice.

The Soccer Club was filled with handsome men, tall like your volleyball players. Few guys tried to hit on you, while the others looked like they would die from a simple interaction with women.

The Basketball Club put some of the girls at edge. All of them were really tall and intimidating.

Suna pursed his lips as Aka and his teammates entered the room, dressed like old money.

"My, my. It seems I have found myself a maid," Aka smirked as he eyed you up and down.

Your eye twitched as you sighed and smiled, "Okaerinasaimase, goshujinsama! Nani wo hoshii? Omurice no suki tabe desu ka?"

"I'd like an omurice and one magic spell please!" He cheered as he smiled, chin propped on a hand that rested on the table.

This guy... he's teasing me. You gritted your teeth and went back to grab a plate.

By the time you got back, your eyes widened as you saw Suna pressing Aka's head down on the table.

"Rin!" You rushed and scolded him, "No violence towards paying customers!"

Suna rolled his eyes and let go. Aka huffed and fixed his hair before smiling at Suna with an irk on his temple, "Madame is absolutely right, Mr. Rin."

"Make sure to eat fast so I won't have to kick you out," He narrowed his eyes at him before walking away.

"Quite a temper, he has," Aka giggled and swirled his glass of water like wine, "My beautiful lady, is that plate for me?"

He's too in character that it grosses me out. You internally winced.

"Haai, ikuzo! Moe, moe, kyu-!"

Your front was broken when he placed his spoon inside with omurice that melted the insides of your mouth. You felt yourself weaken as he caught you and sat you on his lap.

"You must be hungry from serving people all day. Eat a bit," He whispered. You were too indulged in the food that you didn't notice what happened.

You quietly yelped when Suna threw you over his shoulder, a cloth draped over your behind aa you felt your world turn upside down.

"Pardon, gentlemen. It seems that your captain has harassed one of my colleagues. I advise you all to get the fuck out," Suna smiled bitterly as you panicked.

A bored guy rolled his eyes while he was munching some food, "Just kick him out. Why'd ya have to involve us? We don't know that idiot."

"Mean! I am your captain!" Aka pouted.

"You hear something?" Another guy sarcastically asked and raised a brow, making Aka frown.

"Get the hell out, man," One of the butlers dragged Aka by his collar and out the classroom.

"R-Rin, could you please let me down?" You sweatdropped. He was still holding the back of your thighs with his arm ro stop you from falling over.

"You're in restriction until Kita-san and the others arrive. Go take a break," He grumbled as he gently put you down and went back to work.

"You look good with him," Your classmates and fellow maids teased you.

You frowned, "I like Osa..."

"Hmmm?"

"Suna and I are close friends. That's all," You shook your head at them and grabbed your own plate to place food on. Your classmate who played as a chef smiled at you as he handed you 3 plates of omurice.

Light snack before the others arrive. I think I'll pass out. You closed your eyes and said your thanks before digging in.

Few minutes passed and you managed to refresh yourself right when the Basketball Club left. Your makeup was retouched by your classmate, as well as your wig, and finally you gulped down a cold bottle of water before going outside.

The classroom went quiet as all eyes were on you. Kita, Aran, Omimi, Akagi, Gin, Atsumu, Osamu, and the others are there.

You quickly glanced at Suna as if saying 'Why didn't you alert me?!' and he shrugged as if replying 'You were in a zone with the omurice'.

Quickly regaining your composure, you bowed and smiled, "Welcome, master!"

Why didn't the other maids join me?! Fuck! You mentally screamed so hard. The other maids were too scared of them and planned to just let you do the greeting alone.

The guys erupted in cheers and in shock as they recognized you with your voice.

She looks so different. Kita chuckled and motioned you to walk over to him.

"Hello, Ms. Pretty. Could we have our orders now?" Aran smiled at you as you blushed before nodding.

You quickly glanced at the side and caught Osamu's eyes. He was blushing hard before his eyes widened and looked away.

He's so cute! You mentally shrieked but remained a calm face.

After you got their orders, Suna appeared to serve the plates. He shifted in his feet as he looked away, uncomfortable with their teasing stares.

"Would you like something else dammit," He grunted as Atsumu bursted out laughing while pointing at him.

"Now, now, Suna. That's not the correct customer service is it?" Gin smirked as he teased the boy.

"Would you like something else, M....M.... kkh," Suna gritted his teeth and sighed out of frustration before waving his hand, "Whatever. You got this, Sukii."

"Eh, me?" You pointed to yourself, sweatdropping before gulping and facing them.

They're all staring at me. You mentally cried.

"Would you like something else, Master?" You smiled. They blushed and grinned like idiots. Suna grumbled a lot of incoherent words under his breath before he went to get them and serve.

"I-I would...," Osamu blurted out, ears pink as he looked away when everyone raised a brow in confusion.

" 'I would?' " asked everyone.

"I would like a magic spell on my food, please," Osamu shyly said, fiddling with his fingers. His class and Atsumu's theme were cute medieval and they were dressed in onesies as dinosaurs.

"Of course, Master," You hummed as you wrote 'rawr' on top of his omelette since he was a dinosaur, and a big heart around it.

"I will now pour my love on your food — please eat well! Moe, moe, kyuun~!" You let out your cutest smile as you blew him a kiss with heart.

. . .

Osamu erupted in flames as his nose bled immediately. Your heart dropped as Kita hurriedly got tissues from his bag and Atsumu helped Osamu with the bleeding, though he was laughing so hard at his twin. Aran and the others were laughing hard at Osamu's reaction and thought he was cute.

"A-A-Are you okay?!" You panicked, embarrassed. You held the glass of water that Suna gave while he was cackling and ushered Osamu to drink it all once the bleeding calmed down. Almost everyone in the classroom was laughing at him.

Osamu's breath hitched as he looked at you again. You looked really pretty today. Your wig is well-styled in soft waves at the tip that ends at your waist, your eyes that shone like the ocean, your cheeks that are powdered with rosy tint, your lips plump and a pinkish red, your tall height paired with your body that has good proportions, and your cute maid outfit that clung in your body effortlessly. Not to mention your thigh garters.

It was Suna who picked out your costume. His little sister does cosplay and she let you borrow it. Most of your classmates complained about Suna being biased but he just rolled his eyes at them and told them to cry about it.

Atsumu and Suna knew they needed to find more ways to push Osamu in confessing. The poor boy had no idea about what the two keeps plotting. But it's clear that Osamu has this nervousness of being rejected by you. After all — he believes that too many guys like you. The blond kept scolding him whenever his younger twin would rant to him. Atsumu would tell him that Osamu got his looks from him so why would he feel insecure. Both of them ended up fighting after that.

"I'm okay, just surprised... You're really pretty," He whispered the last sentence.

It was hard to resist him. You glanced at Suna as if asking him if you could take a break for a while and join the twins to eat. He walked over as he was loosening his tie and sat down beside you.

"It's our break and time to eat with the team. No worries," Suna said as he started to eat his tonkatsu.

"Sukii, can I also have a magic spell?" Atsumu chirped. Osamu gave him a disgusted look.

"What? You're allowed to have one and I can't?!" Atsumu exclaimed as Osamu just rolled his eyes at him.

"You both look really cute," You giggled as you took a picture of both of them. Eventually it turned to a group pic of you, the twins, and Suna. And then it turned to a club picture after involving Kita.

You were happily eating omurice when you caught Osamu looking. He grinned at you, making you confused. The boy leaned in and put his thumb on the your cheek.

"Even your cheek eats rice," He joked as he removed the rice from your face and continued to eat as if that didn't make you flustered at all.

Gods, please have mercy on me. A smile crept up in your lips.

Kita nudged you secretly as he smiled, "I saw that."

You playfully nudged him back which resulted in him almost falling from his seat. Suna's eyes brightened as he immediately took his phone out and poked fun out of Kita. Panic was evident in your eyes as you caught him in time. The fox eyed boy felt really nervous as he looked away when Kita looked at him.

After muttering an apology to Kita which he just laughed at, you turned to your food again. Most of the club members were finished and wanted to walk in all of the booths of the school so they left after a while. The twins and Kita were the only ones left, including you and Suna.

Kita was about to say something before he left, but was cut off when the doors slid open.

"Sukii-chaaan!" Your mother beamed, shining too bright that she attracted some of the students in the area while they blushed.

Oh, great. You sweatdropped but smiled, glad that your mother made it.

"Ara.. I'm so sorry I'm late! I had to attend an emergency meeting," She pouted but immediately smiled brighter when she saw Kita, "Shin-chan! You're hereee!"

The boys laughed when your mother hugged Kita by his head tightly as the guy stumbled to return the hug. He nervously smiled and bowed.

"K-Kanae oba. Good afternoon," He said, stiffed.

"My, Shin-chan! I told you to call me Kanae nee-san didn't I?" She cooed as she put him in a headlock. Your mother is 5'8".

Kita's face turned slightly red at the chokehold as he aggressively nods before she let go of him laughing. The twins and Suna were more than amused to see Kita nervous and flustering all over for the first time. It was one of Suna's best days ever.

"To my beautiful daughter, come to kaa-san~" She cooed again, bringing you in a soft hug.

You purred and smiled under her hug, the boys smiled at you fondly.

"The one with the dark grey hair wearing a blue dinosaur onesie... my divine energy is telling me that he's the one that captured my little girl's heart?" Your mother whispered as she stroke your wig.

Blushing, you slowly nodded.

Regret filled your eyes for admitting so quickly. Before anyone could blink — your mother was shaking his hand with both of hers.

So quick! Everyone's eyes widened and jawdropped.

In harmony with your abnormal strength, your mother had abnormal speed. Your father was quite the only normal person in your family, except his intimidating aura that reigns superior over everyone. Your brother's unique skill was that he's a prodigy at everything and anything.

Osamu's face flushed as he nervously smiled at your mother who was smiling brighter than the sun. She urged the boys to sit in front of her for an introduction session as you sat beside her.

"Let's play a little game, shall we?"

Your mother cheered for her nth victory.

She had challenged four of them to take a single cup from her and not spill the water inside. It isn't too many, but the boys felt defeated whenever she'd take the cups and splash a small amount of water on their faces.

"Waah! This is so fun!" She giggled as the boys' head dropped on the table, hair slightly wet from the game.

"Mama, please calm down," You sweatdropped.

Kita dried his face with a tissue and stood up, "Kanae nee-san, I'd love to hang out more but I need to go now."

He was scared of her ever since he was a kid. Truth be told.

She smiled and nodded as he sighed in relief. He placed a quick kiss on her cheek as a sign of respect and headed out the classroom after he quickly did the same with you.

"Rintaro, Atsumu, and Osamu," She hummed as she ate some omurice, "What pretty names!"

"Thank you!" They stiffened and sat straight simultaneously.

She then turned to Osamu who got more nervous.

"Osamu-kun, what do you think love is?" She asked.

Not this. If you had longer ears, they would have visibly droop.

The boy blinked in confusion before he answered, "Like eating your favorite meal for the rest of your life and not getting bored.."

"Love is like eating my favorite food for the rest of my life and I could eat a hundred more!"

Your mother smiled at the memory when she asked you the same thing when you were a child eating raspberries.

"How cute!" She giggled, "Sukii said the same thing before. Sigh, to be a cute child again~"

"Rintaro-kun, Atsumu-kun, Osamu-kun... I owe you my deepest thanks for taking care of my baby girl," Your mother grinned as she patted their heads each like a loving mother. They all felt their heart soften and warm with love.

"Sukii has always been a quiet girl. She is always hesitant in meeting new people.. but she is the sweetest girl ever," Your mother looked at you with her soft eyes and brought your hand to her heart, "The world is sometimes unkind to her.. and I always pray until now that she finds the right people who can make her feel right at home."

She turned to them, "I feel that you and your club have been treating her the comfort she deserves. Sukii would always make food for you, doesn't she? It's her number 1 love language after all~!"

Everyone in the room, albeit the other maids and chefs being busy, felt warm and floral fuzzy as they watched your mother say those words with the warmest adoration and love instilled in her verbal affection.

This is embarrassing.. You bit your lip with a blush across your face.

I also want Notabe-san to make food for me! Your classmates all thought.

"Make sure to visit the manor more often, okaaay?" Your mother chirped with her eyes closed and a warm smile idling on her lips.

"Of course!" Atsumu grinned as Suna nodded with a small smile. Osamu raised his hand for a question he hoped he won't regret.

"Kanae-san, what kind of boy.. do you want for Sukii?" His ears turned pink as the two boys smirked at him teasingly. You blinked and tilted your head at him. He refused to meet your gaze as he didn't want to be obvious.

Your mother hummed in thought as she looked at you with a teasing look before she looked back at him, "Osamu-kun, you're aware that my daughter eats a lot, right?"

He nodded excitedly as he awaited the continuation.

"I don't really have standards for Sukii since she has been taught by her father a long time ago. She made a promise to him that she wants a lover that feeds her everyday~"

You blushed in embarrassment as you looked down on the ground, playing with your fingers.

"If I were to add more, I would wish a guy like you would enter her life," She giggled, making your eyes wife, "You're an adorable boy!"

"W-What makes you say that?" He respectfully asked as his face burned. Atsumu was giggling at his side while Suna secretly recorded.

Your face is as red as your hair.

"My guts are always right. I'm sure if someone like you, or you, is able to put some sparks in her heart again — I would be the happiest," Your mother smiled.

"Ah! Look at the time.. I have to get back to work before my guards drag me back to the building," Your mother pouted as you all stood up.

Guards? The boys thought in confusion.

"Bai bai!" She chirped after giving them quick kisses on the cheek and waved as she left the room.

"Is your mother single?" A random guy from the chef's area blurted out. Everyone laughed as you nervously giggled.

You looked at Osamu who was still blushing, making your heart churn with warmth in anticipation that maybe... just maybe... he likes you back.

No, no.. that's almost impossible. You shook your head and delusions away in denial.

He smiled at you, "Sukii, your mother is one of the most wonderful people I met."

"She is, isn't she?" You giggled. Osamu stared in your eyes with adoration.

Love was evident in his orbs. Your stomach was once again kissed by butterflies.

The four of you continued to talk with one another before the next set of customers arrived. It was surprising how quickly the heartfelt event went by in a week — Osamu couldn't help but fall harder and deeper for you with each passing day. He felt like a kid whose heart is always refreshed with the sight of his crush every second of the time.

For once in so long, you have found a school and a group of friends that treat you how you should've been treated from the start. Your heart couldn't be happier at that fact.

Osamu kept sneaking glances at you which you always felt and responded with a small smile.

Atsumu and Suna sighed heavily in sync.

Just date already, dammit!
