Hal sat outside Barry's room at the watchtower. In all honesty, he hadn't eaten since last night, and hadn't slept a wink. He sat there with the same stoic expression, talking to no one but himself.

Barry don't do it!

The exchange of a few words lingered on his mind, as he stares ahead at a blank white wall. He notices the coffee stains of when Barry had tripped and dropped it. He noticed the dent, also caused by Barry. He noticed everything about Barry.

He'd woken up a few times, only to scream and pass out again.

Disappointment after disappointment

His eyes were red and puffy from all the crying he'd done in the past hour. Dark circles under his eyes from sleep deprivation. Though he'd never admit it, he'd drank a bit...To forget.

Still.
He waited for Barry to open his eyes one more time without screaming. To bring back that grin he fell in love with.
