'Aren't you excited?' Marlene squealed. 'Sweet Seventeen is on its way.'

'Just two more minutes.' Mary said checking the time.

'Eh what's the big deal?' Lily shrugged.

'Just one more minute.' Mary said.

'Seventeen is the ultimate year of bliss.' Dorcas said.
'Whatever illegal things we do suddenly turn legal.' Marlene pointed.

'Okay, thirty seconds.'
'Stop the countdown.' Lily said.

'Okay, twenty.'

'I am going to sleep.' Lily said, irritated.
'Oh, shut up.' Marlene said.

'Twelve.. Eleven..' Mary said, but stopped when there was a big explosion from the common room below.

The girls went out and down the stairs to step into the common room.

In the centre there were sparks floating around with numbers.

The number five burst in sparks to reveal four and then three.
'Aww, you guys. Did you do this?' Lily asked, surprised with a bright smile.

'Um we would like to say yes but we have no idea what's going on.' Dorcas said.

The number one dissapeared in sparks in the ceiling and the words "Happy Birthday, Evans" spread.

'Oh no.' Lily groaned.
The words dissapeared and change to something else.
"I hope this year is the best you ever have and I hope you find it in your heart to forgive me. My love for you will never waver, whatever happens."

'Aw' said Dorcas.
'He never learns.' Said Lily.

From all around the room, the words 'Happy Birthday, Evans.' showed a million times.
Decorations began showing and multicoloured lights spread the room.

'I am sick of this. I heading back to the dorms.' Lily said.

'What do you think she thought of that?' James asked, peeping to see Lily's reaction.

'James, isn't there a more subtle approach you could have taken?' Remus asked.
'Yeah, it's a bit much.' Peter agreed.

'You think she bought the apology?' James asked.
'Yeah, sure. Why not?' Peter said reassuring James.

'Are the arrangements for tonight, ready?' James asked.
'Yeah.' Remus said. 'Are you really gonna go through with it?'

'I better if I have any chance left with Evans.'

'Where will you be during the party?' Peter asked.
'I don't know. I will probably meet up with Sirius at the hospital or just chug down a couple of beers, maybe?'

'No way in hell, am I letting James Potter throw me a party.' Lily shrieked.

'All gryffindors, hufflepuffs and racenclaws are invited. Years 5 to 7.' Mary said, reading the poster.

Lily grabbed the poster and shredded it in pieces.
'There are a million. It wouldn't do any good.' Dorcas said.

'Evans.' James called running towards them.

'Why are you doing this to me?' Lily shouted.
'Just hear me out, okay? Please.' James said.

'I don't have any interest.' Lily said.

'Can I have a moment, alone with you.'
'You wish. I am out of here.'

'Okay, fine. Listen, the party is going to be epic. You really need to go. And don't worry, I won't be there.' James said.

Lily stopped walking.
'Wait, what?' Lily asked.
'Yeah, I am not going.' James said.

'It's your party, isn't it?' Lily asked.
'No, it's yours. I just sent out the invites.' James said.

Then after a moment of silence, walked away.

'I can't believe so many people showed up.' Lily said.
'James does have a lot of influence in this school.' Marlene said.

'Where is he?' Mary asked.
'Visiting Sirius, I guess.' Marlene said.

'This is awkward. I don't feel right going to some party potter is throwing for me.' Lily said.

'You will be fine.' Dorcas said, seeing Mary and Remus snogging in the corner.
She shifted her eyes to something else.

'Dylan. Long time no see.' Remus said.
'Yeah, man. It's been a while. Too much studying, leads to less partying.' Dylan said. 'Where's Luke?'

'That was noble' Sirius said.

'Whatever. So, how are you? All better?' James asked.
'Yeah. Getting released tomorrow.' Sirius grinned.

'So, how was mungo's.'
'Well, I felt mentally deranged. And I was bored. Then got a bit more bored. And it kept getting boring.'

'Listen James, I am sorry for all the things I may have said before this. I didn't mean any of it.' Sirius said.
'I know you didn't.'

'And though, I have always told you to quit pining over lily - you did the right thing.' Sirius said. 'I really hope you two end up together.' Sirius said.

'Thanks, man. That means a lot.' James said.

'What's that bracelet for?' James asked.
'Sober for a week.' Sirius shrugged.

'That's great. Okay, bye. I am gonna hit the bar now.' James grinned.

'You jerk.' Sirius said smiling.
