(52) The Dreams Of Sirius Black
Sirius knew he was dreaming. But it was as real as it could get.
He was running through darkness, following a light.
He stopped to face the person he hated most in the world.
'Orion.' He hissed.
Orion was wearing a royal cloak. Laughing at the world, his laughs echoing.
'Ah, Son. What a pleasant surprise.'
'Yeah, right. You are sulking in Askaban.'
'Yet here I am making you feel miserable.' Orion grinned.
'Stop the laugh. It's creeping me out.' Sirius shouted.
'Oh, that isn't me. Listen more carefully.' Orion's eyes twitched, turning red as of the devil.
The next thing he knew he was in forest.
And the noise got clearer.
They were howls.
He turned around to see a werewolf howling at the top of the cliff.
And he knew who it was.
The werewolf jumped and was next to him in a minute.
Sirius tried to turn into his animagus but failed. Somehow his dream version couldn't do that.
'Remus. It's me.'
'He's one of us.' Fenrir Greyback grinned from behind.
'No, he isn't.' Sirius argued.
Remus looked at him, with no recognition. Then he brought out his claws on him, just as the dream shifted to a battlefield of dead bodies.
He recognised some of them.
'It's high time you came.'
'James?' Sirius turned around to face him.
'Expelliarmus.' His wand flew to Lily.
'I never liked you.' Lily said.
'Neither did I.' Marlene said.
James grinned evilly. 'I hated you the most.'
'Like Father, Like Son.' Peter hissed.
James touched his wand to his neck as a sign of aggression.
'James. This isn't you.' Sirius said.
'Of course it's me.' James said. 'Did you honestly think we liked you, Sirius? You are a death eater. You are one of the bad guys.'
Sirius suddenly began hearing chants of 'Kill Him' from behind.
'Avada Kedavra' James laughed.
And all he could hear were laughs as the green beam hit his chest.
And then there was Voldemort. With his death eaters.
'You are one of us, Sirius. Accept your position and serve the Dark Lord' Lucius Malfoy said.
'I am not one of you.'
'Think again.' This time it was Orion Black.
And he was back where he was running.
'Why can't I stop running?'
'Where am I going?'
But Orion wasn't there anymore.
From far he saw a light.
Somebody was calling out to him.
There were shouts and pleas of help but all he could do was run.
And then there was a gunshot.
As he took his last breaths, Marlene was with him.
'Why do you have to go?' She asked, with glossy eyes rimming with tears.
'I don't want to.' Sirius croaked.
'Then stay.'
'I can't. I am dead. I love you.' And then there was pitch blackness.
He heard his name.
Then again.
'Sirius. Sirius. Wake up. Wake up.'
And he saw Remus.
Flashes of the werewolf claw hit him.
But soon he dozed back to reality and woke up.
'Dude, it's time. We hit breakfast. James and Peter have already gone.' Remus said.
'You go. I am going to take a shower and come as soon as I can.' Sirius said.
'You sure. You look ghastly.'
'I will be okay'
'Bad dreams again?'
'Something like that.' Sirius shrugged.
'You know, after charms, you can just go to madam pomfrey. Trust me, she can help.' Remus said.
'Nah. Hallucinations have no cure.'
'Just check it out.' Remus said.
'Fine.' Sirius said.
A few minutes after Remus had gone, he managed to get up and head to the bathroom.
As he looked at his face in the mirror. He saw he had dark circles because of lack of sleep.
The dream came back to him.
Orion's laughs were stuck in his head.
He tried to clear his head and headed for the shower.

James was trying to throw chits at Lily as usual. Which she would swat away and throw angry glances at him.
Flitwick was explaining something but his head wasn't into it.
Remus was taking notes as usual.
Mary was by his side, copying his notes.
Peter was snoring, couple of benches from him.
Marlene was at an end doodling with her quill.
Dorcas and Luke were making eyes at each other from two ends of the classroom.
Sirius was sitting by his side, ignoring the couple in front of him.
His mind was preoccupied by the dream.
The laughs were increasing. The green beam hitting his chest. The gunshot.
Without knowing, Sirius fell out of his chair, passing out, the exertion easing him into a world of darkness.
