Chapter Two

Since Allison had been long gone by the time Erin left, she had just arrived at the hospital to see Nick strapped down to his hospital bed by his wrists. Alicia looked up at her, but didn't say anything. Instead, she gave Nick a look before walking out of the room. Allison only sighed before giving Nick a small smile to which he returned.

“Hey, you.” She greeted as she sat on the edge of his bed. “How are you feeling?”

The boy simply shrugged. “Better now that you're here.” He stated, his smile slowly turning Into a smirk as she rolled her eyes. “Smooth, Clark. Real smooth.”

“Hey, I'm just stating how I feel. You're the one taking It as flirting.” Allison rose her eyebrows at this as she laughed. “Oh, am I now?” He nodded, smirking more. “Oh, yeah. Definitely.”

She chuckled before she went serious again. “Seriously though. How are you doing?” Nick sighed and tugged on the restraints on his wrists that kept him strapped to the bed. “The doctors here have me restrained because they consider me a danger to myself and to others. They think I'm crazy.”

The look In Nick's eyes then turned to one of fear and sadness. “I-I saw something, Ally. Something...fucked up. Something that you wouldn't believe unless you saw It for yourself. E-Everyone was dead...”

Allison frowned, before she nodded and brushed a strand of hair behind his ear. “I'll tell you what. Theo told me you were hiding out In a church, right? How about I go there and see for myself?” She then went to stand, but Nick managed to grab her hand despite the restraints. “No. You can't go. It's not safe, Ally, please. Promise me you won't go. Just promise me.”

She looked at him and could tell that, whatever It was that Nick saw? It scared him bad. Terrified him, In fact. And with that, Allison let out a sigh and slowly sat back down onto the bed. “Okay...If It was bad, then It was bad. I believe you.”

Nick let out a sigh of relief as If a huge weight had just been taken off of his chest. “Thank you...” She nodded, opening her mouth up to say something before Erin walked In. “Hey...sorry, I got here as quick as I could. How are you feeling?”

Nick glanced at her, causing Allison to stand up. “I should go.” Nick squeezed her hand. “No, you don't have to leave.” She shook her head. “No, It's fine. I've gotta be back home anyways. I'd rather have Chris get home from school to a house that's not entirely empty. I'll see you guys later.” After that, she walked out, leaving Nick and Erin alone.

The two watched her leave, Nick's gaze lingering on her exit longer than Erin's. She noticed this and smirked a bit. “Still Allison, huh?” The boy rolled his eyes, laying his head back against his pillow. “Don't even start.” He stated, causing Erin to chuckle before her laughter died down and she went serious. “So, where's this church you two were talking about? The same one I found you at last time?”

Nick's face fell and he looked down. “You heard us...” Erin shrugged her shoulders. “Just enough for me to know why you're so freaked out.” Nick looked back up at her, a fearful look In his eyes yet again. “Please don't tell me you're going there, Erin. Please. It's not safe and-” Erin cut him off, gently squeezing his hand. “You're lucky I have to pick Melanie up from school later. Otherwise, I would go now. You may have been able to convince Allison not to go, but I'm still gonna check It out at some point.”

Nick shook his head, gently grabbing her wrist. “Erin, you don't get It. Everyone there was dead...t-there was blood everywhere. Gloria, she-” He went quiet, almost wincing at the memory as he tried to come up with the right words to where he wouldn't sound completely Insane. But that was the thing: There wasn't. There wasn't a right way to word It without It sounding crazy.

Erin looked at him, sadness and concern filling her expression. Like Allison, she too could tell that whatever he had seen was something he felt no one else would understand, but himself. She wanted to understand though. That's why she was gonna go. “Nick, you don't have to say anything else. I get that It's dangerous and I get that you want me to be safe. But If you really want me or Ally to understand, then I have to go. I'll go later on tonight after Melanie's asleep and I promise I'll be careful.”

Nick gave Erin a look that still begged her not to go, but he knew her. He knew there was no way he could convince her to stay away from that god-awful place, so he let out a sigh of defeat and nodded. “Just- promise me you'll be In and out. Don't stay a minute longer than you have to, okay? Promise me.”

Erin nodded, standing up as she kissed his head. “I promise. Now, I've gotta pick Melanie up from school. I'll bring her by after to say hi, but then I'm taking her home and I'm going to that church after she's In bed, okay?”

Nick nodded and layed back once more. “Fine...” Erin smiled at him a bit. “Get some rest. I'll be back later.” And with that, Erin walked out, leaving Nick by himself to slowly fall asleep.
