Somehow I got more tired after every course and at this point it wasn’t even funny anymore. The distance between the buildings were most of the time pretty huge, I had to sometimes jog from one class to another which made me all sweaty and basically exhausted by the time I arrived to class. The professors didn’t held back at all, giving us more than enough reading materials for the courses and seminars. The only good thing about this was that I chose the groups well this year, which meant all of us decided to do the presentations as soon as possible. The not so good part? I was dying out of tiredness in my second week. Mr. Kim's classes were also highkey killing me, since I was a blushy mess next to him, who apparently was unable to draw when he was close enough. I never would have thought that I would have problems with practical classes, since all this time my weakest point was reading and memorizing shit I knew I wouldn’t need. But now it’s slowly but surely becoming a problem. L is trying her best to pull my head out of Mr. Kim’s ass, but every fucking time he stops next to me to see what I’m doing, my mind suddenly shuts down, like some kind of a kid that has her first crush around. It wasn't that noticeable, except when he asked us to do some drawings home. For some reason those came out immaculately, compared to the ones I did in his class.
By the time Friday rolled around I was done with my major. I had to do one presentation for this week and another group project, not to mention the little homework we got from practical classes. I decided to do one of my homework then walk around campus for a while so I could get some fresh air. It felt like I was trapped a little bit, even though I never moved around as much as I do while the renovations are taking place. Though, I had a feeling it had to do with two sleepless nights and the one hour naps I took instead of actually sleeping like a normal human being. I always did the extreme, sleeping for 15 hours or not sleeping at all. Glen was pissed off at me for being up and doing my assignments, so Thursday when I got home at 6 PM she tucked me in my bed. I almost instantly fell asleep, and woke up the next day around 11 AM. After having breakfast and coffee I started to do my homework, and I finished most of it by afternoon.
Before heading out I checked my phone, a stupid habit I got right after our first official date with Hoseok. After we talked on the rooftop he walked me to my dorm and that was that. I was contemplating whether to write him or not, but this time he was the one who initiated the conversation, saying that he had a lot of fun on our date. The message made me sigh, but after he broke the ice between us we talked every day, when we had time. This week wasn't exactly the best for neither of us, but I had a wild idea and was ready to go with the flow.
I wore skinny jeans with a black crop top and a leather jacket, and of course my converse. The weather outside was truly mesmerising, even though it was Autumn. The trees were still green, and the sun was shining through the leaves making me feel all giddy inside. Sometimes while looking up I just cracked a smile out of happiness until I noticed I arrived at my destination. I suddenly got excited and at the same time I couldn't believe myself.
“Hello, sorry, could you tell me where does the 3rd years have class now? The modern dance majors?” I asked the gatemen politely, while he was boredly reading a newspaper.
“They don't. Just finished.”
I thanked him and with sour expression I walked around the corridors, thinking that maybe I still had a chance to meet him. It was around 6 PM, the chances were slim, yet my legs took me to the first place we met in his Academy. The door was slightly open, so I sneaked up quietly to check but my heart almost burst from the scene that unfolded in front of me. Jung fucking Hoseok was wearing a snapback, letting his forehead show that was sweaty at the moment. His outfit consisted of a simple T-shirt and sweatpants, but somehow he still managed to take my breath away. His hair was probably sweaty too, just like his face. Hoseok was showing a move over and over to a few students while explaining how they can achieve the perfect stance. He wasn't paying any attention to the smaller group of girls who were watching from the sidelines and whispering amongst themselves. From here it looked like they were some fangirls, which turned out to be true, because as soon as Hoseok told the lesson was over they almost ran to him to congratulate his dance techniques. All of them looked older than him, and this recognition made me feel self conscious. He was kind with all of them, trying to revert the compliments, when our eyes suddenly met. I have no idea why my first reaction was to wide my eyes and walk away faster than the speed of light, even when I heard him shout after me.
“Seriously Jo!” he was huffing when he grabbed my shoulder “Ah, I just finished my class, give me a small break.”
“It's okay I was just around and got curious.” I stuttered looking at his flushed face.
“Really? So it has nothing to do with you missing me?” his half smile made my palms sweaty, especially since this time he was utterly close to my face.
“I just… What?” my ears felt hot and I just knew he was having the time of his life teasing me.
“Eheh, joking only.” he chuckled, showing his toothy heart shaped grin, which felt like someone punching me in the gut. Five times.
“You were working hard there.”
“Mhm, we have a dance club for beginners. We do hip hop mostly.” Hoseok put the bag on his back while talking “Can you wait for me by the entrance? I have to take care of a few things.”
I waited for him only for around five minutes. His face was still slightly red, but who the fuck cared, he looked like the most adorable guy on the planet, making my heart beat faster with each passing minute.
“Ready to go?”
“Where to?” I asked, though nonetheless I walked with him.
“I'm hungry, we're getting hamburgers. Sounds good?”
“Sure, even though I might not have enough money. Feels like I just spent my last cent for coffee.” he flashed me a soft smile, eyes shining brightly.
“Rough week?”
“Haven't slept for two days straight.” I confessed not really thinking anything about it, but Hoseok was having none of my bullshit.
“Jo you should take care of your body more. Living on caffeine is not healthy at all, please.” he was pouting sadly, while taking short glances at me.
“Well maybe next time. Though I slept 14 hours after that so it was chill.”
“You need someone to take care of you. You're like a little baby.” his amused expression made me laugh saying my next words without thinking.
“Like who? You?” he licked his lips for a second before playfully winking at me.
“I'm taking your offer, only if you let me.”
I shut up after that, not having the slightest idea what to say. We just walked to the fast food place in silence, until we sat down to a table with our menus. In the end even though I was getting my purse out to pay for my order, he already paid for everything, and even got me a small pancake as a surprise. I was smiling fondly at him, while he was preoccupied with opening the package while humming a tune.
“Oh!” he suddenly looked up, so I averted my eyes and looked at my food “I forgot to ask, do you like dancing?”
“I can't dance even if my life depends on it.” I answered taking a big bite from my burger. He smirked at me for a second, which meant he did some shit. “Hoseok? The hell did you do?”
“Okay so don't be angry with me, yea? Remember, I'm taking care of you.”
“Cut the crap and tell me.”
“Oh, I didn't know you're cursing so much. For some reason I'm not surprised at all.” he smiled softly before taking another bite from his food.
“I'm dying here, what did you do?!”
“I just put you on my dance team. You know how I said I'm teaching the beginners? Well-” he put down the burger and formed a heart with his fingers “welcome to the team!”
“What the hell.” I softly murmured looking at him with huge eyes. I couldn't believe he would actually do this, but the fact that he was so ecstatic made me realize that this asshole is telling the truth.
“It will be so much fun! We can dance together every Friday afternoon, maybe even give you some complementary lessons.” he was babbling off, it looked like he wasn't even breathing while talking “Can't wait to see you there. Obviously because it's for beginners you don't have to worry about hard choreographies.”
“Hoseok, no.” I whispered with a dead panned expression.
“Hoseok, yes. This is fun, just accept it that you're now in my Hope team.” I was gawking like a fish, heart almost hurting from the sight of how happy he was.
I just let go of it, just like he advised me, because as much as it made me scared somehow I was beaming too that I could see him for sure once a week, though I'd never admit this to him.
We talked for another two hours after we ate, it was almost 10PM when I was getting closer to my dorm. My throat hurt from laughing and talking so much, but slowly I realized how my fear is fading because of his presence. It felt nice, comforting.
“You never asked me on a second date.” I stated with rosy cheeks, already feeling how I just made our conversation awkward. Hoseok didn't mind, he was still coolly walking beside me, a constant smile on his face
“Were you waiting for that?”
“I was just asking.” I mumbled looking down at my feet.
“Hmmmmm, but we just had one.” he chuckled while I peeked up at him.
“Are you joking again?”
“Of course not, this was a date in my eyes.” I put my hand in my pocket trying to get rid of the sweat on my hands. “How does this make you feel?”
“I don't know?” he looked at me, dimples showing from smiling so big.
“Liar.” he whispered softly, while ruffling my hair in a cute motion “We'll talk later. Don't forget about our practice.”
I haven't noticed we already arrived at my dorm, so I awkwardly waved at him while he just sent a flying kiss making my heart skip a beat. I just stood there for a few seconds looking at his form in the darkness until I couldn't see him anymore.
Glen was home, in her bed, eating the remains of our food while watching a movie. She almost tossed the laptop on the ground when she saw me enter the room.
“Your face is all red! Give me all the details, were you out with Hoseok?! And didn't tell me?” I hid my face with my hands while screaming bloody murder “Oh my god! Did he kiss you?”
“What!? No! We just talked and ate and walked and-” I let out a breathy sigh while jumping on my bed.
“You're so whipped for that guy, but who wouldn't be? He's perfect, isn't he?” she laid down on me, squishing me with her weight.
“You're killing me.” I choked while thanking the gods I was on my stomach and not on my back.
“I love your love story so much. Anyway what kind of romance is this? Ah~, can't wait for the continuation.”
“Just stop.”
I heard my phone go off in my pocket so I asked Glen to get it out for me, since she was the closest to my butt. As soon as she grabbed it she made a sound like a dying whale.
“This is so adorable, when will I ever have this kind of happiness?” she gave me the phone while hugging me tighter, if that's even possible.
The message was from him, simply saying “Thank you for tonight, we should meet up next week, I have a surprise for you.” with bunch of heart emojis.
