Chapter 1

The sun shone Brightly overhead as the large group of people made their way slowly to the mountain peak, where a large building was just visable in the mountain. Agnes looked at the building in awe. It was sitting in the mountain, making it hard for an incoming enemy to see.

"There it is! There's the hatchery!" Agnes's older sister-by a couple of seconds-, Nicole, was looking exitedly at the old building.

"Yeah, it's beautiful isn't it?" Their mother, Diana, laughed at her daughters. "I remember when I first came here, I was so nervous, but when I hatched Frosted-shock, it made it all worthwhile." Diana looked sadly behind them, as if the topic of her wounded unicorn was sensitive. After the terrible battle, years ago, Shock was injured so badly, that she could never fly again, but she was still strong enough to be ridden.

"I hope we past the so-called test." Agnes said nervously. The 'test' was a talented Unicorn training instructor shaking your hand to see if you had one of the Wildflower elements inside you. Agnes was more referring to her sister, because she could already feel a powerful force inside her, as well as the slight tug inside her heart, of her destined unicorn waiting to hatch.

"I donno. I think so, cause I think that there is magic inside me, I mean I'm pretty sure I can feel it." Nicole looked nervously at the instructor, who was shaking kids hands up ahead, some looking sad at not being accepted, others looking exited and chatting to others about their future with their unicorns.

"Mother?" Nicole asked.

"Yes?" Diana replied, turning her gaze to her daughter.

"What happens if we don't get accepted?" For once, Agnes's sister looked daunted at the fact of not being what she always dreamed. As the line of families moved up once more, the family of three tuned their gazes to the hatchery. Tomorrow was the Luna eclipse, the day when all unicorns hatched. On their island, a Luna happened every year, when all 15 year olds who had been accepted, made their way up to the hatchery to find their bonded unicorn.

"Uhh, you, uh,- oh hey look!" Diana broke off as the instructor came up to us.

"Hey Diana!" The Instructor bowed and looked at the siblings. "You must be Agnes." She nodded to each in turn. "And you must be Nicole, I am Instructor Diamond, but for now, just call me Diamond." She dipped her head respectively, and the sisters did the same in return. "It's nice to meet you, Diamond!" Agnes said happily and Nicole nodded her head vigorously.

"Well, now that intruductions are over, we can do the test." Diamond looked at Diana and their mother nodded.

"Get it over and done with." Diana looked at her children nervously. She prayed that their dreams would be fulfilled, especially Nicole, she would be so down that she didn't get in, Agnes would be better at hiding her emotions, but she would be even worse, her only dream in life is to become a unicorn rider, at least Nicole could become a saddler for the riders and their unicorns.

"Okay! Nicole, we'll start with you." Nicole's eyes shone was excitement as she reached to shake Diamonds hands. Agnes looked into the Instructor eyes and could see that she was almost as happy as her sister.

"We haven't had much luck this year." Diamond muttered under her breath, just loud enough for Agnes's sharp hearing to catch.

Oh, please Nicole! Get in!

Diamond took Nicole's hand and shook it. She closed her eyes in concentration, almost as if she was looking in into her sisters heart. After a while she opened she eyes and smiled a sweet smile at Nicole.

"Congratulations Nicole! You in!"

Agnes's sister stood silently for a moment, before turning towards her sister and their mother. "I got in!" She squealed.

"I knew you could!" Agnes pulled her sister in a hug. "I wonder what unicorn you will get?!" Nicole looked as if she had just remembered that

"I had forgotten about that- oh, hey! There's Lucy!" Nicole looked at Diana, and she nodded. "Go have fun!" As her sister ran off, Agnes turned towards Diamond.

"It's my turn isn't it?" She looked at her mother, and she nodded encouraging.

"Yeah, I have a good feeling about you Agnes." Diamond brought out her hand and she took it. The Instructor had hardly closed her eyes before she took her hand away quickly with a gasp. "You- oh my..... Agnes... your a-a." She paused and Agnes stomach churned with nerves.

Then Diamomd smiled. "You are a Mysticala!"

Agnes gasped. She had heard stories about the rare mysticalas, she had even seen one with her own eyes, but she had never thought of herself to be one, hadn't even dreamed. A Mysticala is a Wildflower of all the elements, the person has the power to easily ace any others, can talk to animals, and can even bond with more than one unicorn.

"That's- That's amaing!" She smiled and looked at her mother. Diana was gazing at her daughter, and when Agnes looked she smiled a smile that she had never seen before.

"Agnes! That is so amazing! I am so proud of you!" Diana looked at Diamond, and they smiled at each other. "Thank you Soilder," Diamond blushed at being called by her former role.

"I am honoured that I could welcome a new Mysticala." Diamond dipped her head at Agnes and Diana, and moved away to greet another family.

Agnes and Diana turned around to walk back down the mountain in an awkarwd silence. "I can't wait to get my unicorn so I don't have to walk this ever again!" She cast a glance toward the hatchery that sits at the top of the mountain.

Her mother snorted. "Well.... In training, it is an expectation to run up and down the mountain in the pistil level of training...." She trailed off and at the look of Agnes's face, she started to laugh. She kept laughing until she ran out of breath. After that there was an uncomfortable silence.

"How does it feel?" Diana asked out of the blue. "To be a Mysticala, I mean."

"I-ahhh." Agnes stopped for a second. She closed her eyes and searched deep inside her. She felt a pulsing, full of power, so much magic inside, waiting to be unleashed. "I feel.... I feel powerful." That was the best answer she could give.

"I understand that." Her mother nodded. "Can you see Nicole?" Agnes looked around, trying to spot her sister. After awhile, she saw her laughing with her best friend Lucy, her family was next in line for the Instructor.

"Nicole!" Agnes yelled to the dark haired girl.

"What?!" She yelled back.

"Time to go!"

"What!?!"

"I said, time to go!!"

"What!?!?"

Agnes rolled her eyes. "I'll Go get her." Diana nodded

"I don't think I could bare to watch the conversation any longer."

The brunette haired girl walked over to her sister, Nicole said a few words to Lucy, and jogged to meet Agnes.

"What was it you wanted?" Nicole giggled

"We are 15! About to become unicorn riders! And you act like this?" Agnes rolled her eyes again.

"Do you think mother will let will see The Eucalypt?" The Eucalypt was a giant tree in the centre of the whole flower shaped island, with the towns around it, the wilderness and the petals for the elemantal bases. It had a huge trunk, over 100 metres in leanth. The trunk was hollow, allowing people to walk inside. Over the years, with the help of the Wildflower wielders, they had created something truly amazing. According to their mother, it had treehouses and all sorts of natural things. The whole purpose of it was to house the tamed unicorns and their riders.

"Oh, I hope so! Wouldn't that be amazing!" The sisters ran back over to Diana and Nicole asked her question.

"The answer is no." Their mother looked at the nearing end of the mountain, where Frosted-shock was waiting for them.

"But why?" Nicole whined.

"Because you will see it tommorow when you hatch your unicorns." As the family reached the bottom of the mountain and Diana went to her unicorn, Agnes elbowed Nicole, seeing as she was about to respond.

"Ow." Nicole overexaggerated. "Dat hurt." She had her top teeth sticking out on her bottom lip.

"What did Lucy give you?" Agnes looked at her sister with on eyebrow raised.

"Nofing..." She giggled. "Maybe a wittle sugar....."

"Oh no... Mum!" Agnes looked at her sister. She did not do well with sugar, her blood flowed really fast and caused her brain to, like, go back to her younger self.

"What?" Diana called back from where she was adjusting Skocks reigns

"Lucy gave Nicole Sugar!"

"Oh no..." Diana rushed over to Nicole, who was having a laughing fit. "Help me get her onto Shock."

Agnes nodded and together they hoisted Nicole onto the icy white unicorns back. Frosted-shock snorted and growled lowly, as though she could smell the high blood in Nicole's system.

When they got home,to a double storied house, Nicole had calmed down and was now fast asleep. They set her in her bed, a giant queen bed that had pink sheets, and then, quietly, they went back downstairs.

"That was awsome!" Agnes said to her mum.

"Are you happy with your outcome?" Agnes nodded.

"I had never really believed it, I never had even thought it was even a possibility, if I had even registered it in my mind. But now that it happened it does make sense, 'cause I have always known that I would be a unicorn rider, I have always felt the magic within me." Diana looked at Agnes proudly.

"I am so happy for you. Your dream has now come true. But, I do have one question to ask you." Agnes nodded. "Can you feel the bond with your unicorn?"

She thought about that for a moment. "Yes, I can. It's not obvious, it's just...." She trailed off

"It's always there." Diana finished for her.

"Yeah, it's always there."
